We had a Christmas party there with friends and had a great time. I really enjoyed their appetizers—the squid was delicious, and the brie cheese was a nice touch. The freshly baked bread was amazing. I ordered the beef and it was wonderful, and the crumbly dessert was also very good. Every coffee was perfect. I also loved their scallop risotto.
Overall, it’s a fantastic place for a date or a group event.

I am sadly writing this review for Jac's in Oakville 😡*
I'm still fuming thinking about my terrible experience at Jac's in Oakville. Last year, on November 30, my wife Shannon and I celebrated a very special occasion - our parents' 50th wedding anniversary! 🎉 It was a milestone event, and we wanted to mark it with a special dinner. Unfortunately, Jac's was a huge letdown.
The service was slow, the food was subpar, and the staff seemed completely uninterested and we even called a couple of weeks earlier to let them know of the big date. It was a shame, because we were really looking forward to celebrating this special occasion with a nice dinner out. My parents who've been married for 50 incredible years, deserved so much better. 🥰 when my wife Shannon expressed her concerns the “owner” said he was going to investigate hoping to get some sort of response or apology. But radio silence. NOT. A. Peep. 🤷♀️
It's been 1 YEAR later to the day for Jac's, and I'm still waiting for someone to acknowledge our concerns. Was not looking for a free meal or anything, just a simple response of some kind would be nice. Guess I'll just have to share my experience with friends, family, and now... the world 🌎. Guess the “owner” does not value its customers which is a shame we did love going there
*UPDATE:* Still no response from Jac's. Guess that's a big fat 0/10 from me. Won't be back, won't be recommending to friends. 🛑🚫
Has anyone else had a similar experience with Jac's in Oakville? 🤔

Longstanding favourite dining spot. Been a customer for years. Remains an elegant space. Despite the years. Beautiful bar area. Excellent servers. In the last 2 years the quality of the food has been variable. More often poor than good. Rarely outstanding as it often was. The portion size has also shrunk. Also noticed this early to midweek The salads are still very tasty. Any leftovers don't last until the following day. Food spoils very quickly.

Great place to go for dinner. Great menu that changed seasonally and an excellent wine menu. Friendly service and a very cozy environment. I have been there many times and have always consistently had great meals.

I would choose SIX stars if possible
It took me a while to get to this place tucked away in the middle of the Kerr st. Strip. It's location belies its elegance and understated charm. It's fancier than it looks from the outside and its warmly but dimly lit interior softens up an austere and well proportioned dining room with a semi open kitchen at the back. The design of the room and the service here scream professionalism and attention to detail. The focus is on the food as it should be. We ordered a fish main and steak main. Both were cooked flawlessly to exact order, extremely generous portions and dripping with clear juices and butter. I would say that the bernaise sauce on the steak was maybe rather heavy on the salt or perhaps just over reduced and I would get it on the side for dipping next time. The total bill was surprisingly modest. There are far more expensive places in Oakville that can't get
this good a sear on a thick piece of arctic char but are charging twice what these guys are for the same dish.

This cozy spot has been serving Kerr Street for 14 years, yet this was my first time finally trying their food, and it didn’t disappoint! Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. The food was fresh and flavourful, and we enjoyed dining on their patio, which seems to be a bit of a hidden spot. While it’s not the cheapest place in town, it’s certainly fair for the quality. We especially loved the chicken and smoked salmon wraps, and the shrimp linguine was hearty, delicious, and very filling.

While I appreciate the effort in service and aesthetics, the pricing felt excessive for the quality and quantity of food provided.
calamari—it was perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned. It stood out as one of the few dishes that felt worth the price.
One particular disappointment was the tiramisu. It arrived looking promising, but the texture was off—watery at the bottom and lacking the richness and structure you'd expect from a classic dessert.

As Oakville residents - we have heard good thing about Jacs and decided to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary there. Our first impression wasn't great as our waitress tried to pressure us to order all our meals at once and we wanted to take our time and order one thing at a time. We ordered calamari which was very rubbery- it was taken back without apology. We had the shrimp thermidor instead and it was good, but bland and only 3 shrimp which seemed skimpy for the price.
we then shared the gnocchi which was absolutely the highlight and delicious. For dessert we had an espresso martini which tasted like milk. overall -
for a $300 meal- which I don't think was correct because with the wine I calculate $162 before tax.... nothing to write home about and nothing to note our anniversary.

My wife ordered the seafood linguine and it was good. I ordered the cod and it was also good but a bit salty for my taste.
This place deserves all the 💗! Went for a business lunch and the food, service and atmosphere was amazing! We had steak salad, steak wrap, tiramisu, espresso and some special spritz that our waitress/bartender made us that we loved! Will definitely be back again
We have been going to JACS for several years and have never had a disappointment of any kind. On Saturday past we took our family for an 80th birthday dinner. The staff were, as always, friendly, polite and informative. We had decided on our set menu (three choices) and couldn't have been happier with the service and food quality. All thirteen of us were served promptly and everyone agreed the food was outstanding. Thank you once again for a most enjoyable and unhurried evening.
