My daughter had her 17th birthday event with her friends at Nyla's Room and it was so amazing! The service was top tier, the food selection was great, and the owner and employee were very tentative. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend!

Be careful about ordering from them. Made a commitment via email that we would be good for a day to pick up. Last minute today, (after I followed up) told me they can’t do it. Not sure why they would commit to something that they can’t follow through with. Next time be honest from the beginning then wasting time.
Update: it’s interesting you replied claiming you are closed. I attached an image of the email confirming that you were going to accommodate my request for the birthday regardless of you being closed, since you were doing pick up orders that day. What’s the response to that now?

Children are not welcome here? Tried to book an afternoon tea with my aunt and 2 year old daughter, man on the phone said “high tea is not for youngsters”.
I had also offered to bring our own high chair (they don’t have any) that attaches to a tabletop, and he said he’d need to contact their lawyer before agreeing to that. One of the strangest phone calls I’ve had, I declined.
I have taken my aunt and daughter to high teas all around downtown Toronto, Markham, and Scarborough (it’s our thing!) with zero issues. The travel high chair has come to dozens of restaurants, they’re a pretty common format.
Disappointed this was the stance that Nyla’s took, they turned away some future regulars.

We happened to be at Nyla's room for gelato.what an amazing place for delicious gelato! The girl working there name Mila is so pleasant and outgoing. I would love to go back and see her again. She made our visit more enjoyable.

We had my sister and brother in law’s baby shower at Nyla’s room and it was perfect! They accommodated our group despite some additions to our guest list and the service, tea, and food were excellent. The decor was lovely too - there was no need for additional decorations because they provided everything we needed. We had such a lovely afternoon and hope to be back!

**Beware** The owner of this place emailed me saying I owed them money when I made a reservation for 10 people (14 originally but then only 10 rsvp). Due to unforeseen circumstances only 7 could make it on the day of. The server advised it was not an issue and only charged us for 7 people. The service was amazing. The place is beautiful and food was fantastic.
After we were long gone I received an email and phone call from the owner saying I owed money for 3 more people. I advised if I had been told that at the time I would have paid for the three extra people and asked for the tea and food and service I was paying for. But I did not receive the extra 3 people’s food or tea.
The owner told me that because of the mistake of a minimum wage employee he would be out of pocket. Again I explained I would have paid if I had received the food and service. Which I did not. He then said he was going to fire his server and I said that would be upsetting. He took it back and we ended our phone conversation. The way he talked about his employees were disgusting and disrespectful to say the least.
Please be careful when dealing with the owner. The staff are lovely and even sent a follow up text message thanking us for coming.
All savories and dainties were amazing. Excellent staff and gorgeous work on the space to bring out its beauty. The team clearly takes pride in the work. We had a wonderful time for our anniversary tea. We'll be back for gelato for sure haha

I ordered two flavours of gelato: S’mores and chocolate something (I forgot the full name). The S’mores was very mild and tasted a little nutty. I could not distinguish marshmallow/graham/chocolate flavours. Didn’t see chocolate in it and in hindsight I wonder if I was given the wrong gelato or if it was mislabelled. The chocolate gelato was very mild also, not at all what I expected.

We were very excited to be able to support a black, female owned business. And it did not disappoint! We had an amazing & unique girls day. The teas were delicious as were the finger foods. Highly recommend the toasted almond tea and the lemon gelato. Service was great, staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Worth every penny, we will definitely be back.
