My daughter and I each had a chicken shawarma for lunch. They were delicious! The two staff members took pride in their work and it made for an enjoyable lunch. Our shawarmas were wrapped in foil and with a bag to limit mess.. never had that before, but it sure was handy!

Absolutely disgusting and unsafe food.
I went to Royal Shawarma and ordered a platter for myself and my three kids. When we got home and opened it, the shawarma smelled awful – greasy and unclean. The chicken was so undercooked it was almost raw.
That night was horrifying. All three of my kids (10 years old, 7 years old, and 2.5 years old) were up all night throwing up. I was so worried I almost took them to the hospital. Clearly, something was seriously wrong with the food.
This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any restaurant. I can’t believe they serve food like this to people. Please don’t go there if you care about your health and your family’s safety. Horrible place.

I don't understand why this has a 3.7 rating (July 2025), my brother has been going to this shawarma shop for several years now since he used to work near here. The chicken shawarma with pineapple is so good, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are very generous.
I love going here any time I'm in Burlington/Oakville and will always go back!

It’s big, packed to the brim, full of flavour, and incredibly satisfying. The wrap is perfectly seasoned, fresh, and bursting with homemade taste—it’s the kind of food that makes you pause and savour every bite.
What makes this place truly special, though, is the couple running it. They seem to have been together for nearly 50 years, and you can feel that warmth and care in everything they do. It’s more than just good food—it’s the experience. The service is always clean, neat, and personal, like being served by family. There’s something so comforting about being in a place where the people behind the counter genuinely love what they do and treat every customer with kindness.
I’ve already visited twice (maybe three times!) with friends and family, and every visit has been consistently delightful. If you’re in Oakville and craving Middle Eastern comfort food made with heart, Royal Shawarma is a must-try.
10/10 shawarma joint. The two gentleman working today were down to earth, weren’t on their phones but instead just wanted to chat. The shawarma on rice was phenomenal, seared on the grill giving you a crispy bite, enough meat so that you’re not left with 50% rice afterwards… garlic sauce was amazing too with a very generous portion. If I was to give any constructive criticism is a little less ketchup in your hot sauce and a little more kick. Otherwise this has now become my go to shawarma spot. The reviews don’t align with the service and quality of food!
