Symposium Cafe Restaurant Oakville

The Saturday night rib special is very good. My friend had the fish and chips and you get too big pieces of fish with fries. Saturday also has $10 off bottles of wine, which makes them very very affordable.

We really like Symposium Oakville. If you order the daily special it is great value for money. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the noise level is perfect for a conversation with friends. The staff are friendly and efficient. Overall itbwas à great experience.

Went for happy hour and half off pasta today. We got the bruschetta as well as the spinach dip calamari butter chicken and fettuccine. As we ate the bruschetta we noticed a funky taste and smell to the crumbled cheese. I’ve smelled rotten goat cheese before that’s exactly what it smelled and tasted like we thought maybe it was blue cheese so we asked and the server said it was goat. I was shocked because it tasted spoiled. We mentioned this to him and he said he’d check in the back he then avoided us for maybe 20 minutes and by then we were finished our meal just waiting for the bill and the update on the cheese. he mentioned twice he’d taste it himself but never did and it seems like he never even mentioned it to the other staff which is concerning as the cheese tasted and smelled rotten and funky. By the time he finally gave us the bill he said he won’t remove it from the bill because we got it at happy hour price… we did not finish the bruschetta as again it was funky tasting yet had to pay for it. lastly overall the food was bland the butter chicken tasted like it was from a jar with frozen costco chicken mixed in it. the calamari was ok spinach dip was good and the fettuccine was ok. I really think it’s a huge concern about the rotten cheese and should properly be looked into for the safety of others.

Zero stars if I could. My family came in to have breakfast and once we got seated no one came over to find out if we needed tea, coffee or even water but as soon as another group came DIRECTLY behind us that was not black, someone was there to take their order and offer them every beverage on the menu! Had to leave because obviously they are racist and lack basic customer service. Will NOT be returning and I don't recommend.
