Don't let the diner-like decor fool you; the place serves top-notch Korean food. A wide selection of traditional Korean dishes, generous portions, and an amazingly fast kitchen make for a lovely experience in this unassuming setting. Service is attentive and friendly.
They offer bottled Heineken and Corona, as well as soju. If you plan to drink, the Oakville GO station is conveniently right across the street. Prices are in line with area restaurants. Plenty of free parking all around the place, including a handicapped spot near the door. High-speed guest wifi works well. The place opens at 10am (11am on Sunday), if you feel like a nice dolsot bibimbap or galbitang for brunch.

My family has been going to The Owl locations at Mississauga, Toronto and Durham for years and has been loyal customers ever since early 2000s. The Owl is our go-to korean restaurant whenever we crave for korean food and we do spend quite a lot whenever we visit 2x a month. We easily spend $200+ for 4-6 people whenever we visit the Owl.
We we're super excited when we heard about The Owl opening in Oakville near the Oakville Go station.
However, it's always been a DISAPPOINTMENT when you dine in at this location only!!!
This is the only The Owl location I know that doesn't let you pick your own table that your family is comfortable sitting!
This is the 2nd time we we're denied a bigger table just because there are 2 empty seats that are not being used. So what??? It's not like the place was packed as per the picture!
They hire high school kids that are rude and have an attitude. The manager doesn't care to jump in and come talk to us even if we requested to talk to him.
There were 8 of us total this time. We got 3 kids with us, ages 2-5.
I pay for my own family of 4. And my father will pay for the rest of the family.
We know they won't allow us to split the bill so we decided to have separate tables and occupy 1 table of 4. And the table next to it which is for 6 people.
We always order a lot of food too and having a small table for 4 doesn't give us enough space for all the food we order.
All we wanted was to have a table next to each other so that we can chat, we can help out each other feed the kids, and have enough space for all the food we usually order.
But they won't allow it just because of the 2 empty seats at the table. Really??? They want us to stay at the booth instead of having a table next to each other.
The place is empty and there are a lot of tables available! I would understand if the place is packed with customers but it wasn't.
Every staff was just chilling behind the counter chatting to each other. So, what's the big deal if we occupy a table of 6 instead of 4???
No wonder this location is not getting enough traction like the other locations, the manager and the staff has no clue how to run a successful business! I would not recommend this location at all! Do yourself a favor and go visit the other locations instead. DO NOT GO TO THE OAKVILLE LOCATION!

I’m sorry but the service here was very disappointing. The food itself was just so-so and definitely not enough to make up for the bad experience

Ordered takeout, decent portion sizes, everything tasted great and they even gave generous amounts of side dishes
The food came with side dishes (kimchi, cucumbers, bean sprouts). Very yummy, very quick.

Called asking if the food is halal, they said yes. A couple minutes later they called me back telling me that the food could touch pork. Haven’t eaten here but just the transparency was enough for a 5 start review

Peas in the fried rice hard and clearly old and freezer burnt... Portions very small. Flavor was fine otherwise. Very average experience with below average value. Won't be going back....

Have this bone in soup. You'll forget your mother inlaw's cooking, probably your wife's soup.. ooh just kidding about the wife soup.
