I used to love Apple Annies they had the worlds best egg salad sandwich.. today a salty tasteless quiche no sandwich.. ok but it took ten minutes to get a premade quiche, a latte no spoon and a mouthful of honey at the bottom (couldnt catch anyones eye for a spoon) they weren't even busy one man stood for 5 minutes at the cash. They were out of everything.. it was 11am.. and mgr there simply said “take a seat” after I paid.. terrible service.. never used to be fingerprinty and untidy either.. sorry to see this lovely place go

Let me start by saying I have gotten many good things from Apple Annie’s that were great including their pumpkin pie and various cheese cakes. This Easter weekend however my partner pick up a strawberry rhubarb pie, my favourite. Unfortunately this was the worst pie I have EVER had in my life. It was sour and bitter and inedible. Perhaps the sugar was somehow forgotten or it was a bad batch for what ever reason. The pie ended up in the compost bin. The pie was $25, if it was at all good I would have eaten it and would not be writing a poor review.

Love this little place but it’s time to get that menu back to the basics. Daily house made quiche and lightly dressed salad. One plate. 15.95. Yes please. Homemade soup and a toasted butter biscuit. Yes please. 12.95. People will pay. You have e amazing opportunity to build back some list clientele. The pre done floppy sandwiches look old and tired and taste the same. The hot drinks don’t disappoint and I will continue to come for a latte and scone weekly. But it’s time to change up that menu. You are trying hard we see it.

On a little roadtrip to visit family and we decided to stop in at this cafe for brunch on our way home based on good reviews. It did not disappoint! Atmosphere is cozy, the staff were friendly and accomodating and the homemade soup and tea biscuit, sandwich and a cinammon bun were excellent and we ate every last bit. Would high recommend this local cafe.

As a long time resident of Orillia I have frequented Apple Annie’s for many years and always loved the quaint atmosphere and incredible food. When it changed ownership I was very hopeful that it wouldn’t lose any of its charm and quality and I’m so happy to report that if anything it has only gotten better! The new owners took an existing Orillia landmark and applied attention to detail, friendly prompt service and incredible delicious food. I strongly encourage fellow orillia residents and tourists to pay a visit to this lovely, warm and unique restaurant. It’s so important we support our local businesses that clearly go the extra mile for us. Thank you Apple Annie’s for continuing to be the apple of orillia’s eye!

I sadly saw that someone has left a 1 star review for my beloved Apple Annie’s, so I now feel compelled to respond.

I have been going to Apple Annie’s for many years. It is a core piece of Orillia’s magical downtown. When I heard they sold (over a year ago) I was curious if the new owners would and could keep this heritage business’s high standard.

Well, I am more than happy to report, they have not only kept the exceptional quality of food and service; but I believe they have taken the cafe to even another level. With some subtle changes the restaurant is even more welcoming and beautiful. New wonderful menu items. And the staff are some of the friendliest in all of Orillia.

As a long time resident I am so grateful for places like this and owners who go above and beyond to make our little city so extra special.

Keep up the great work gals!!

Unfortunately , this cute place I used to love coming to has declined … in service, in cleanliness, and product availability.
The young staff were extremely busy and trying their best. I had to sit at a dirty table.. wait 10 min for my beverage… the entire place needs to be cleaned …even the front door was filthy as well as the windows ….
