This place is a gem!!I read reviews and decided to try it for a late lunch on a Monday. I will be back!!I chose a lamb stew with a couple of adjustments to cater to my allergies, which were thoughtfully and graciously done.It was absolutely delicious!! Lamb cooked to perfection and full of flavour, stew wonderfully seasoned, even the naan was just right!!Great music playing at just the right volume, cozy, comfortable atmosphere and friendly professional service.Did I mention their coffee is really good? It IS!!Highly recommend Eclectic Cafe!Dietary restrictions: I'm allergic to onions and garlic. There are both in the dish I ordered, I knew there would be, the chef left out extra of each to make it manageable for me. If I need to take a Benedryl later it's worth it!!

*Edit* After receiving a response from the owners, I would like to apologize for my one-star review. I erroneruously assumed it was the responsibility of the restaurant owners to update hours of operation on Google maps. No, I did not look at the website, as I didn't think I had to, as I assumed google would be correct. I work in the restaurant business, so I know how exhausting it can be, but I will say, we know that when we get into it. A business that closes when they say they will be open confuses the clientele, and the business is perceived as unreliable. I will change my review to 5 stars until I have had a chance to experience your restaurant. I dont want my review to negatively affect your overall score. *Edit*I made plans with a friend to do some christmas shopping, go for lunch, and support the downtown district. We were completely dismayed to learn most shops were closed. I would have thought that with only a couple weeks to christmas, shops would change their hours of operations. In addition to this disappointment, the restaurant we decided to try, the Eclectic Cafe, which was listed as open on Google Maps, was closed. We thought this was an error on line, but even the front door hours of operation sign listed them as being open on Mondays. However, in the window was a sign saying they were closed "because they are tired." What the heck is that about? In my opinion, this is extremely unprofessional, and I didn't find it humorous. We ended up spending our money elsewhere and unfortunately will not have anything good to say about their business, which is a shame as I was really hoping to check out and support one of our locally owned businesses.

Only 2 flaws were the level of noise as the acoustics are poor, and that I did let them know that my Chai tea latte was awful but I got charged for it anyway which I don't think is right.Food is terrific.

I own an event planning business in Simcoe County and have had the pleasure of working with Alana + Chef Mel and the incredible team at Eclectic Cafe & Catering for about 4 years now. They are our top recommendation for catering services for events both big and small. Working a wedding knowing that Eclectic is the catering team makes our job 100 x easier; it also doesn't hurt knowing that we will be eating some of the best food we will have all year. Our favourite part about the menu is that it is different every, single time. Chef Mel crafts a meal so specific to your "food memories" as she calls them, that you and your guests are left truly wowed! We love Eclectic Cafe and cannot wait to knock another season of weddings out of the park with their team. HIGHLY recommend.

The Eclectic catering team did an INCREDIBLE job catering our wedding. Mel and Alana created a one-of-a-king delicious menu that highlighted local and seasonal products. Our guests loved the food (especially the duck confit waffles and the vegetarian main). They were also so kind and patient answering all of our questions and went above and beyond helping us get our DIY bar and table rentals all sorted. 10/10 recommend for your next event!We also love stopping by for a coffee, treat, or lunch. Orillia is so lucky to have Eclectic cafe!Vegetarian options: Many great and varied veg options.
