A very impressive establishment, especially for a small town. The market is full of various kinds of bakery and sweet foods, as well as souvenirs and Orillia themed merch - all of this in a beautiful historical building.

We stopped by their coffee shop serving an impressive selection of sweets and sandwiches as well as truly excellent coffee.

My soy latter was close to being perfect, it's been quite some time since I enjoyed a cup of coffee this much. Absolutely recommended.

Well. Our first visit yesterday and we were not disappointed. Wow. How much space do I have? The Philly cheese steak sandwich is to die for, honestly. I wish I had purchased one to go for today. We live about 3 hours away. And, and the apple fritter. Oh my. Am I drooling yet? Honestly the best apple fritter I have had in years. I think it was $3.49 but two can dine on this size. What are you waiting for? Get going. You will NOT be disappointed. Here's the real issue. You listening? There is a HUGE, did I say huge offering. Way too much. I could hardly make a decision. I will have to go back and keep going back. Have fun. I forgot to take a pic, ugh!

Mariposa Market – A Must-Visit in Orillia

Mariposa Market is the perfect place to stop for lunch and to satisfy any bakery craving you can imagine. The selection is incredible—fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious. From sandwiches to sweet treats, there’s something for everyone.

Be sure to give yourself extra time to explore their other shops as well—you’ll find unique gifts, specialty foods, and plenty of charm. A true gem in downtown Orillia and a spot I’ll keep coming back to!

One of Orillias best places to stop at. Something for everybody as far as baked goods go, but great for lunch too. You'll need more than a few minutes to look around. P.S. Free fudge samples downstairs

This bakery? OMG.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.

Everything behind that glass case looks like it was handcrafted by a team of pastry angels.
The cakes? Perfect.
The butter tarts? Criminal.
The chocolate explosion? Honestly should come with a warning.

Atmosphere is cozy, service is sweet, and I walked out with enough sugar to legally qualify as carry-on luggage.

If you’re anywhere near Orillia — this place is a must.
Bring a box. You’re gonna need it.

Been here a few times over the years and I've never seen it not busy. Their baked goods are outstanding: literally anything your sweet tooth desires, generously covered in icing and frosting and all types of delights. Their savoury stuff is also good: heavy on the carbs but still with enough tasty meats and veggies on there to keep you satisfied.

Recent visit involved trying out a red neck meat roll (the hint of whiskey was amazing), roast beef (generous amount, tender beef) and chicken parmigiana (bland and overly doughy). Then capped off the meal with a gopher tail (airy bread with smooth creamy filling) and apple fritter (would have liked more apple but glaze was perfect).

Mariposa is streaming with people at all times, and it's one of those rare markets and bakeries that people treat as a destination rather than a convenient stop.

This place is way bigger than I expected. Lots of bake goods. I bought their apple pie before I head back to Toronto. A must place to visit in Orilla. There is washroom available inside.

There are 3 floors of deliciousness with pastries, buns, bread, sandwiches, jams, jellies, sauces, pickled products and a restaurant.

Absolutely the most delicious selection of desserts. The friendliest staff. A must visit if you are in the area, and worth the drive if you are not.
