The hotel is very old with a constant musty smell throughout especially towards the rooms hallway. Our room was dark, and the pillows smelled like cigarettes or someone was smoking inside the room, even though they stated it was a non-smoking room. Breakfast was disappointing,no milk for cereal and very few options second day was better but limited options again compared to other places I have stayed . The whole place lacks freshness.

Great deal for breakfast and pool and arcade all in one

Stayed here with a large group. First room had vomit or feces still in the toilet. Switched rooms after calling front desk and advising them of the unacceptable cleanliness of the room, second room the bathroom floors were filthy (see dirty cloths in image attached after I had to use soap and water to clean it before allowing my kids to go in). The ceilings are peeling everywhere, with large spots looking like water leaks.

The entire hotel has this terrible musty smell. The walls are so thin, you can hear very clearly with the doors shut. Every single door slams shut , there are no soft closes.

Would I stay here again, no. Would I recommend this place to someone, no. Maybe if you have low standards , but for $190 a night - hard no.

We booked a room for 2 nights and a conference room to throw a baby shower. The staff are amazing here and very helpful. Carrie, Shelley & Josh, thank you for all your help. Check-in & out were fast and easy. This is an older hotel. However, one of the only ones that offers a balcony around. It also, in my opinion, has the best indoor pool in the area as well. The rooms are a little dated but well kept. The bed and linens were clean. The bathroom was clean, it had a bit of wear & tear but everything worked well and like I said it's an older hotel. All in all, a great stay.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, setting a positive tone from the moment we arrived. The pool was impressively large—one of the biggest I've seen in any hotel—and made for a fantastic spot to unwind. The hot tub was equally enjoyable, and I appreciated how the staff regularly checked in on the pool deck to ensure everything was in order.

The new chairs in the pool area were a nice touch, adding to the relaxation factor. While the exercise room could use a few upgrades, the incredible pool more than made up for it. Throughout the hotel, the staff were pleasant and hardworking, which added to the overall positive experience. Our room was clean, and while the walls were a bit thin, that’s expected in many hotels.

Overall, a great stay! I’ll definitely be back when passing through Orillia.

I knew what I was in for when I entered the main lobby to check in and all I could smell was a stench similar to an old musty dishrag mixed with very old cigarette smoke.

Booked one of the suite rooms thinking it would have a balcony / walk out like the others … nope.

Finally found our room as some exterior doors with card access, don’t work.

The suite is massive, don’t get me wrong but the level of outdated, broken and pure filth is unacceptable.

Hair everywhere! Food crumbs everywhere!

Used soap bar in the shower with no new toiletries (all products used and less than half if any). The bathroom was the start of my skin crawling from filth.

Down to the pool we went with hopes of a similar positive experience like our previous stay here (3+ years ago) …. It was anything but positive!

The pool deck is absolutely filthy! Old strips of fake eyelashes, clumps of old hair balls, dirt piles and freezing. With no towels in sight.

The hot tub is still closed.

I didn’t dare check the sauna or change room conditions after seeing the amount of debris and filth floating in the pool water.

Bumper cars are still closed. Arcade is mediocre, some games out of order. $2.00 per token and all games are minimum 3 tokens. Very dead atmosphere.

Walls are paper thin! Exceptionally loud, especially with the “thumping” going on above us. Currently counting down the hours until check out.

Location is great, right off the highway.

Hopefully breakfast will redeem this place for me, I’m not holding my breath though lol

We had our Wedding May 3rd here. Staff was great, food amazing, nothing we could complain about. Room was very clean and spacious....our guests that stayed were very pleased with everything. Manger Kerri Mullen went over and beyond 2 reception rooms were beautifully decorated. The food was well planned, serving staff was very good. Kerri Mullen is a Great Asset to this hotel. I know we appreciated her....

The service people are nice but the place has definitely gone down hill. The pool still looks good, we could not use it as it was under maintenance when we were there. The restaurant and arcade look good too. I think they added those in hopes of bringing people back but the rooms and hallways are really bad. Stained and dirty. Sad it went down hill.

Rooms: Dirty and stained. Not that good anymore.

Very clean, staff friendly, pool very relaxing. The only problem is the TV available, since they are in a big city, why is TV so bad. We had only 5 channels, 3 news channels but one was frozen and 2 regular channels

The rooms need a bit of an upgrade but overall not terrible

Nearby activities: There is a grocery store, lcbo, shoppers drugmart, and tim hortons within walking distance. Across the highway are lots of fast food options as well as a cinema.

Food and drinks: I have stayed at 10 plus Choice inns. This is the first time the breakfast was a disappointment.
Food was not replaced quickly and when it was it was cold and dried up.
This hotel because of location was pricier than other hotels of similar quality. I would have expected better.
I feel for the lone soul coping with breakfast most hotels have 2 or 3 staff.
Otherwise it is an excellent hotel with a magnificent pool.

Great location, great staff... Lousy building and facility. I have no idea how this place has a 3.6 rating in 2024. This place is just a small step above a cheap roadside motel/flop house and it has clearly not been updated since the late 90's. Doors slam, creak and groan, there is complimentary paint peeling in every room and hallway, mold grows in every shower, the rooms have a funk to them that is both unique and unsettling and the cleaning is hit & miss (but mostly miss). The continental breakfast is inconsistent and only good because it's free. We had no hot water for the 3 days we stayed there and most people preferred to tailgate in the parking lot. This would have been a great hotel 30 years ago. The highlight was that we didn't come home with bed bugs, I imagine it's only a matter of time though.

After witnessing several drug deals, a floating bag of cocaine in the swimming pool and a crack pipe under our coaches bed, I’ve decided this hotel is a hard pass.
