We dined at State & Main in Orillia recently, having decided to give it another try over a not so great experience a few years ago. Glad we did decide to return as we found the decor and ambiance had improved quite a bit (to warm, inviting and comfortable venue vs the bright and “cold appearance we recalled from a few years back). The service was the best we had seen in a very long time and the food was delish! I had the pistachio crusted salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus and food was delivered hot and very tasty (salmon cooked perfectly)! Would highly recommend this restaurant- especially compared to other restaurants in the area!! Priced competitively as well.

The server was great and very attentive. She made excellent recommendations that we enjoyed very much. We will definitely return to State & Main.

Table was ready on time, server was quick, prompt and helpful. Food was excellent and so where the Margaritas... Food served in appropriate amount of time. Overall atmosphere was great. Nothing negative to say, me and my wife had a great time !! Would 100% recommend.

Reserved a week in advance for a group of 30 on a Friday lunch. Service was very slow and the restaurant appeared understaffed—it took nearly 2.5 hours total. Food was great, though.

Updating my review after my order for takeout was messed up and the manager was quite disappointing to deal with fixing the situation.

Absolutely horrible service, waited 15 mins for the waitress. Got tired of waiting so we left ! There was 3 waitresses at the bar talking while the waitress in our section was cleaning tables!
Horrible service

We travelled to Orillia for our Christmas holiday to see family. We ate at State and Maine because they had dietary options online. I had the veggie chicken club and I upgraded my side to asparagus for $3.50 extra. I was served a burnt sandwich, that was missing components (avocado) and came with 5 tiny spears of asparagus. The I had already had to request a veggie patty, then I had to ask about the avocado. I didn't mention the burnt patty because I was afraid that something terrible would happen to my food. A bad experience on a lovely holiday.

When we travel to Orillia, we stop at this location many times. Recently we had the pleasure of Isiah as our server. We haven't had him as a server in the last little while. He came to our table, introduced himself and mentioned that he had served us previously. What a memory. and yes we remembered him as well. What a pleasant young gentleman to give us great service and what a memory. State and Main should be very proud of this young man. Kudos to Isiah

Quite tasty and good service! I got the honey glazed Cajun chicken, which I really liked. Only issue is one of the end pieces of an asparagus was too woody to eat. But minor issue. We shared some desserts, which was a good idea. Id recommend the cinnamon bun bread pudding

Most of the time I like the food. Steaks are good! It is often far too loud in there for conversations though
