Had a great meal before a concert at the near by Orillia Opera House. All aspects of the meal from the appetizers to the mains were very good. Will definitely be back next time we're in Orillia for a show!
We had another outstanding meal at The Common Stove. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The rib eye was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of rich, smoky flavor. It was truly one of the best steaks I've ever had. My wife couldn't stop raving about the bone marrow; it was decadent, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the ambiance added a warm, inviting touch to the evening. Every visit to The Common Stove reminds us why it's one of our favorite spots. We're already looking forward to our next meal.
We had a wonderful evening. The food, as usual, was divine. We were 4 women celebrating our friend's upcoming wedding. Our server was such a great guy. We started with the roasted cauliflower to share. Then we shared a ribeye which was enough meat for four. It was seared perfectly. We shared the carrots, mushrooms, and fries-all delicious. Sticky toffee pudding with a fireworks candle to top off the celebration. The evening was perfect!
Over the past two years, we've thoroughly enjoyed dining at both The Common Stove and Picnic. We typically visit as a couple and always look forward to the exceptional cuts of beef at The Common Stove—expertly prepared over a wood-fired grill. Last night, we brought a guest to the Sunday seating to try the special Roast Beef dinner, and it did not disappoint. Served medium rare, the roast was tender and flavorful, accompanied by a beautifully puffed Yorkshire pudding reminiscent of a soufflé. The dish was rounded out with heirloom carrots, a touch of horseradish, and rich jus. Every element was delicious, and the meal was perfectly balanced. We ended the night with sticky toffee pudding. Devine.
The atmosphere was really nice, and the service was very good. Surprisingly, the best dish we had was the grilled carrots in homemade pistachio pesto. They were hands down the best carrots I've ever had. Would love to see a couple more vegetarian dinner options to the menu, not just appetizers.
First time dining there. It will not be our last. I had the little filet and it was the best steak I have ever had at a restaurant! The carrots were amazing, too, and a very generous portion. The service was attentive but not to the point where it was intrusive. Love the decor.
Been to some of the best culinary schools and restaurants around the world this is a joke tbh food sub par lobster smells off heard a guy joking how it sat all day disgusting and also dangerous food practices I wouldn’t waste my money on this I’d rather find a food truck where it’s all freshly made with local produce not frozen food from out of country 😂
Wow. This was a real treat. The food was wonderful. Their specialty is steaks, and it was indeed special. I also recommend the 'vegan mess' which is the wrong name for this wonderful dessert!!! Maybe the 'vegan sleeper' or the 'Incognito' because there is no way I could tell that lovely strawberry meringue was vegan. All in all, a lovely experience. Just go. Taste. Enjoy.

We went to celebrate our daughter’s 25th Birthday. She chose the place so we travelled from Huntsville… let me tell you I would drive three hours to eat here. We loved it, I tell anyone that will listen to dine here. I just can’t wait to go back, that sticky toffee pudding is calling my name. #bestthingonearth #neverstopsellingthis

Sunday Brunch Mimosas, Caesers and Bennys!! What a great way to start the week! Service was spot on, bennys were perfection with a house made biscuit that added crispness and punch to the tasteful hollandaise and eggs poached perfection!!

The Common Stove offers an exceptional farm-to-table experience. Every dish bursts with fresh, locally sourced flavors, expertly crafted to highlight the best of each ingredient. The wood-fired cooking adds a unique, smoky depth, and the warm, rustic atmosphere perfectly complements the thoughtful, attentive service. A must-visit for anyone who values quality and sustainability in dining!

I would definitely rate this place 5 stars. The food is consistently good, and as far as expensive steaks go, they’re among the best I’ve had. While they do tend to add a bit too much salt to the steak at times, I’ve never had any issues getting a replacement when needed. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, with their large wood-fired oven giving the space a delightful smoky aroma. It’s definitely worth visiting, even if it’s just to try their burgers!

First time there. Went as guests of family who have been several times in the past.
I looked at the menu ahead of time and was a little apprehensive, but those concerns where put to rest once we got there.
We shared some scallops as an appetizer,
I had the filet as my main, and we all shared sweet potato rings, heirloom carrots, buratta and kenebec fries.
The steak was as good as I've ever had, cooked to perfection (MR) and served with a nice bearnaise sauce on the side. All the side dishes also came with delicious sauces (garlic aioli, curry, chili lime, chimi churri).
We finished our meal with some Kindred Chocolates, which were the icing on the cake.
Service was also first rate.
Highly recommended.
Vegetarian options: Many
Kid-friendliness: Not really geared towards families, although I did notice one or two kids there.
More of an adult atmosphere and menu.

Very pleasantly surprised. To be honest, better than a lot of restaurants in Toronto.
Meat was incredible, each side dish exceeded expectations. We don’t go out much anymore because of the quality. We will definitely be back here.
