The food was excellent! We had the opportunity to try their new menu options: rack of lamb and I had their squash dish. Both were fantastic! More importantly our server Julia was lovely. So personable and genuine. She is a great addition to the Common Stove family.
Another great dining experience at Common Stove... we've become regulars over the years.. so we know what to expect and are NEVER disappointed. Miss 'Sam' was terrific as the service was exceptional! Cheers!
We went for the Sunday Roast. It was excellent and good value. Love it and highly recommended.
My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner. The food was absolutely delicious with so much flavour and the meat and scallops were so tender. Service was outstanding, and even loved that the owner goes to the tables to make sure everything is good. Love that interaction. Recommend the lamb and Sunday Roast!! Overall impressed!!!!
We enjoyed a fabulous anniversary meal at The Common Stove. The ambience was so comfortable and relaxing. A perfect location in the heart of Orillia! The service was fantastic from start to finish. And the food was fabulous! The braised beef agnolotti with rapini was delicious and the chocolate basque cake ... I will be dreaming of having another slice one day soon!
Always have a great meal. Great servers, my wife and I always have a great time there. We enjoy the food.
First time at Common Stove and it was a big hit! We had brunch and every bite was beautifully prepared. Can't wait to come back for dinner.
Great local restaurant, the food is very fresh and tasty, good for a couples night out , a special occasion or a group gathering. The service is very good, attentive, friendly and professional.
It was a cold Friday night, Blue Jays 1st World Series game, so the restaurant was less full than usual, but there was space at the kitchen bar, where we basked in the (welcome) heat from the open fire. Started with PEI Oysters, then ribeye (me), Cornish hen (she), Common Stove potatoes in bite-sized crunch, and a surprisingly nice bottle of Sicilian wine - the steak was up to the Common Stove standard, excellent (and we could track it progress around the grid as it sizzled), and the butterflied Cornish Hen was pronounced superb as well. Our server, Julia B (there is an A too) deserves a *more-than-honourable mention* as a great complement to a lovely evening: our compliments!
As always, The Stove delivers! Fabulous steak, mouthwatering accompaniments, great service....you can't ask for better! Always a pleasure....keep up the good work Simon, Darcy and crew!! Next adventure....Luca in Barrie! Don't know how you guys do it, but so thankful that you do!! 🤗💕

Wonderful dinner spot with excellent cuisine! Def a recommend. Simon the owner hosts a lovely spot!
This place ages like fine wine ! Wowow. Every time we go it just gets better and better. 10/10 on the whole experience.
Regardless of what time of day you are heading to The Common Stove your meal will be absolutely incredible. Simon has done such an excellent job creating an elevated atmosphere, the attention to details, (cloth napkins folded around your menu) all rolls over into the attention the chefs put into creating your meals. Flavours always on point, balanced and always leaving you wanting just one more bite. This time we had Dennis serving my wife with her mom and sister! He was kind, and attentive, willing to explain the menu in depth and help understand the intricacies of the flavours each meal would bring. Brunch, Lunch or Dinner, try The Common Stove once and I am certain you'll be back!
Love Sunday Roast. We usually come in on Sunday to enjoy this feast. Great non-alcoholic beverages and cocktails and they have gluten-free options for dinner and dessert. YUM!

A limited menu but a range of options. I had the 7 oz filet and it was cooked perfectly. The heirloom carrots were grilled which is different than how I prepare them but still good tasting and nicely presented.
Because of the high ceilings, it was a bit noisy. Service was exceptional with a very attentive Server.
