They were very accommodating. They willingly changed our dining time as we were running late from skiing at Horseshoe valley. They food was delicious and the services was excellent.
Overall excellent experience. The ambiance and setting is cozy and trendy, with a great touch of Orillia homage. FOH staff between hosts and servers were efficient and friendly. They never let a wine glass become empty. Although I don't know our servers name, she was knowledgeable and polite and timed the table visits perfectly; not too pushy or overbearing, just the right amount of attentive of our needs. It was a special night, a celebration of a birthday, that was main event worthy. The choice of wine (Simon's choice) was the spot on, a wonderful Sicilian red. The main course was the best dish I've eaten outside of my Nonna's kitchen. Prices may deter you from regular occurring visits, for a nice night out it was well worth it. 9.7/10, can't wait to come back!
Great dinner last night. We both had the black cod in broth. Very good. Nicely presented. Restaurant has a great vibe. Service was super. Everything good. Definitely will go back.
First time there and it was wonderful. The atmosphere, food, service was amazing. Felt very comfortable and never rushed. Will definitely go back again.
Lived up to expectation. The steak was to die for and the sticky pudding was off the hook.
The food was really salty, and I love salt so that said something. Had to send back the fries because the were covered in salt. Even the pasta and cheese appetizer were over salted. Might have just been the chef that night but I won't know cause I won't return. The steak was good although a little overcooked for a rare steak (no blood at all). I also thought it was too expensive for what you got, but of course if we enjoyed the food more I wouldn't be commenting that.
The best restaurant around. Hands down. On par with anything we've experienced in Toronto and NYC. Just love this place.
we went for Brunch and the food was outstanding. The Service was amazing!! Can't wait to try a dinner there....
Loved my experience at Common Stove. The new cod dish was delicious, and the broth was incredibly flavorful. Sat at the counter where the chef was engaging, which added to the experience. Service was top notch. Highly recommend
From the time we walked in, to the time we left was absolutely wonderful. We went on a Tuesday night. And it was less busy than weekends so we got excellent service & attention. (I do suggest to go during the week.) its busy on wknds. The menu is creative , interesting, the presentation is amazing and 6 of us had zero complaints. The food was absolutely delicious. Oh, and then the cocktails?... creative and something for everyone, even me, the designated driver. Is it expensive? It' on the high side but not for the total experience. They nailed it. A1 from the 6 ladies!

This is a must try restaurant in Orillia. It was our first time there and we were blown away by the food. The chefs/owners definitely know what they're doing. We will be back many more times again. The braised beef pasta was phenomenal. My partner had the lamb chops which he said were probably the best he's had

We enjoyed our meal , and our service very much and met the very fun people at the table beside us . Great evening out .
The food was to die for. We got the pasta and the burger and both were phenomenal. The staff were great accommodating my partners peanut allergy and assured us his food was safe. Our server also provided great recommendations. We were there to celebrate an anniversary and they came out with a sparkler. We will make our way back from Toronto to eat there again for sure!
Hey! Simon and Darcy! It does feel weird not saying Ben too, but! At the same time, chef Amir! 👏 you blew my mind as well as my boyfriend's! I have been dinning at this fine establishment since 2021, that was when my best friend and partner in crime Dawn discovered this little gem. Every time I'm in the area , my children and I eat at one of the three establishments. Ben, my boyfriend Ben, has heard me preach about the three restaurants since we started dating years ago, but do to his military schedule and courses, has never been able to visit himself. That all changed on January 4th. I made reservations for the Common Stove for 6:15pm, worried that we wouldn't make it in time from dropping off my son of at Uni in North Bay, I cancelled. (Yes Simon the taco truck king himself) I fgured we would make the Hog and Penny worst case scenario. We pulled into the Hog at 6:30pm, me already set of my usual scotch egg and fish & chips with a Guinness. To be informed that the kitchen is closed. So, we zipped down to the Stove, my original love. The hostess asked if we had reservations I explained what happened and she happily sat us a table. Fighting the urge to get beef bread, bone marrow, oysters and carrots (don't judge stressed momma) I finally got Dawn's favourite. The roast dinner, actually we both did. Holy SH*T! Ben looked at me in amazement like I had been the gatekeeper to the most amazing food in his life! Me?! Well! I was so satisfied it was the first time I didn't order a scotch and dessert. I have been eating here for almost 5 years for a solid year, I ate here every other month. Driving 3.5 hours to get there, you all have always been warm, welcoming and kind. Last night was something else all together, sharing the Stove with the love of my life and him seeing first hand how amazing the people are and how soul satisfying the food is was, best experience yet. Thank you taking us in and conveniently having just enough roast beef dinner left. 💙
Amazing food. Service was good and friendly. The table closest to the door is cold and pretty busy. Wouldn't sit there again.
