My husband had the Halifax donair and it was really good! He’s from out east, and he said it tasted pretty close to the same as back home. The flavor was spot on and definitely brought back memories. I’d recommend trying it!

A couple pints, a roastbeef dip and philly cheese steak. All very good! Met some nice people too! All around good place.

Sunday brunch; we got coffe really fast but It took the waitress 25 minutes to take our food order. We eventualy got our food 1 hour after we first sat down (2 orders of Eggs and a BLT). The food was good when it eventually showed up

I'm not sure what's happened to this place but the quality of the food has gone way down. We used to order take out here weekly and they have significantly downsized their portions and the quality overall is just not what it used to be. It's a shame we used to love the food here!

My family and I have gone to Barley Mow regularly for many years, but the service and food quality has deteriorated significantly in the last six months or so and today will be our last visit. We arrived as a party of five for dinner at 4:30 PM and the restaurant was relatively quiet. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders, 10 minutes to get the drinks, and 10 more minutes before she came back to take our food order. The food was finally delivered for 3 of the 5 people in our party 45 minutes later - 3 orders of chicken fingers and cold, hard french fries. The fourth order came shortly after with one piece of fish and cold fries. Finally, 1 hour sfter ordering and 15 minutes after the other meals were delivered, the final meal arrived - a veggie burger (with the WRONG toppings) and a Caesar salad. After finishing our meal, we had to wait yet again for 20 minutes to receive our requested bills. If this was a one off I wouldn’t be writing this review. However, we seriously debated whether we should even go there tonight given multiple poor experiences over the last 6 months. Usually, it is the service that is exceedingly slow but the food is generally okay, although sometimes not hot. But today the quality of the food was just as bad as the service. We were given discounts and an apology, but this isn’t an experience we ever wish to repeat. Regrettably, we won’t be returning.

I've been going to the Barley Mow in Orleans for at least ten years now. I find lately that both the food and the service have really declined. Tonight it took over an hour for five of us to get our food. When we did, it was warm, not hot, and the french fries were dry and cold, as if they had been reheated. It took nearly half hour just to get refills on our drinks and the place wasn't even half full. The waitress seemed more concerned with serving people sitting at the bar than those at the tables. Sorry to say, I will not be returning again!

Avery is a new server at BM Orleans. She was fantastic, knows the menu well, the drinks and was very pleasant and welcoming. Great hire

Drove in from Montreal and we decided to stop at Barley Mow for dinner. It was a horrible experience. The service is slow, food was cold, my prime rib was as dry as the desert and the atmosphere is dull with no personality. The server was nice, we still tipped her tho. Will never recommend or return.

Went here for brunch. I left disappointed. The food is below average, and it’s obvious why so few people were there. The service also lacked. One waitress sat at the bar talking to the other waitress, mostly ignoring customers. Bottomless coffee for $3.50. Not bad if you get a refill, but you won’t get offered a second cup, so this was disappointing. Want your bill? It won’t come to you. You have to go find it. I won’t return.

Had an in restaurant brunch on July 19 2025. Food was good, but the highlight was being served by Ella who is a superstar server. She is the nicest, fastest, most attentive I’ve had in a very long time. Cheers.
