Avoid at all costs.
Dry chicken and very small quantity. On the “large chicken plate” they sprinkle some chicken on top. Never seen anything like this. Any other shawarma place is better.

I ordered here from skip during a bad day, accidentally the system ordered the food 4 extra times, the Garlic King understood and cancelled 4/5 of them keeping me with my intended one order. Now that’s good service! The Garlic King saved my day from becoming catastrophic and the delicious food made it much better!

Food was dry, place seems really unsanitary. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I find that the meat was salty 🧂. I was not felling good after. Will not eat there again. Or it could be the sauce.

Awesome place. Been going for years and never had an issue. Great for people with gluten allergies / celiac.

Unfortunately I used to love getting my Shawarma at The Garlic King. One of the first truly Lebanese restaurants. But when I last went they didn't have many of the prices up on their menu board. I was informed that they were changing or just changed the price on many menu options. I could not believe it when I got a regular toasted shawarma and virtually the price of a platter at Mango's at the corner of Alta Vista and Bank. Don't ask me the exact amount but it was pricey (perhaps 15$). And that's without a drink.
Asides from that, I enjoyed my meal and time there eating in. The restaurant is also still kid friendly with a booster chair and kids menu. So perhaps a good place to bring kids.
The door is however not wheelchair accessible. I remember because I opened and held the door for someone making a delivery of some machine.

It has been 13 years since I had shawarma, due to my celiac disease/ allergy to gluten. Yesterday we ordered 3 meals and I ate two of them because the flavours tuned me into a monster for shawarma! I was blown away how delicious it was and then waited to see if I would get sick. I didn’t get sick at all. Today is the day after eating it and I still feel wonderful ! The service was also a wonderful experience, the cashier and lady were wonderful and had very positive vibes. I will be going back many, many times !

Absolutely delicious. Great variety of sides to go with the famously toasted shawarma. Fun place to go in and order. Generous servings. Love! 😋
