The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Oshawa

My boyfriend and I rarely go out for dinner, but since he bought a truck yesterday, I surprised him with a dinner at The Keg. We usually go to Ajax, but decided to try Oshawa since it’s closer. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.

We were seated and then waited about 10 minutes with no acknowledgement, servers walked by without saying anything. My boyfriend eventually went to the host to let them know we hadn’t been seen. Our server came about 5 minutes later with no apology, just mentioning he wasn’t told he had a new table.

We asked for bread, which came out freezing cold and hard. Again, no apology. It took another 10 minutes to get a warm one. Appetizers were fine, but our mains came out cold, my boyfriend’s burger was lukewarm, his fries were stale, and my food was cold. When the server asked where my food was and I told him it was cold so they took it back, he just said, “Oh, ok cool,” again no apology, which felt dismissive and awkward.

There was no accountability, no effort to make things right, and the overall service felt unpersonable. Even after mentioning we were celebrating my boyfriend buying a truck, the server didn’t engage at all. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but he seemed rushed and uninterested.

For the price you pay at The Keg, the very least you expect is hot food and basic customer service. Sadly, we wouldn’t recommend the Oshawa location

Lovely every time we visit! My favorite restaurant:) Get the Prime Rib or the Filet Mignon and don't miss the Escargot for an starter!!!

Meals were great as always but my steak was very chewy worse steak I've ever had at the keg I never complained I did eat it but little disappointing for price. Which I've never encountered before eating here

No reservations. Walked in were told 1 hour wait but took only 20 mins. Our server Jacob was amazing. Everything was perfect celebrating an occasion. Been to many locations and must say they set the bar high.

I came with my wife for my anniversary and I had an amazing time the food was perfect and the service was amazing shoutout to Jessica who was our server she went above and beyond to assist and make our time special please give her a raise , my father worked at a different keg for 30 years and when I visit other Kegs it brings me good memories , however in the men’s bathroom the soap ran out only issue but besides that it was perfect

We truly had the best dinner and experience last night at the Keg by the Oshawa Centre.

Our hostess was Pardis and she was amazing. She did not rush dinner and was extremely courteous and attentive to us.

Food was amazing (especially the Steaks) and we left feeling very satisfied!

I'm SO happy the baked brie is back on the menu! It's such a fantastic appetizer. The whole meal was terrific as always.

Great, friendly service. Quality of the Lobsters and Steaks were outstanding. A little pricey, but we definitely recommend for any special occasion. Great experience!

My wife and I were here for a dinner date today. The place is amazing and looks very professional and gives the vibe of a high end restaurant, you score well there.
My wife ordered risotto which was amazing. I ordered the bowl (see photo below) which was horrible, I really mean it. It is overall a poorly packaged item. None of the items go well together. The basmati rice looked nothing like basmati, but cold clumpy rice. We brought this to the attention of Hailey our server and she said that she will let the kitchen know. There were some falafel which were again not fresh, and added to the dryness of the meal overall. I am glad that I had ordered sirloin otherwise I would not have gotten to each anything useful. Overpriced item for what they serve. At the end, I left most of the food as it is. Hailey knew that I am not happy about the meal seeing that so much was left over and so she did not ask for our satisfaction about the food again and checked us out. It seemed like a happy place and was busy, but our experience was not good and I think we will not be going to Keg again.

My fiancé and I came for our 5th year anniversary. Our server Marty was absolutely fantastic. So personable and had a lot of great suggestions for the menu. Very attentive as well even though the restaurant was busy. He gave us a free dessert for our anniversary, which was so yummy. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you Marty!
