The food is spectacular. I've yet to not find a dish I didn't like. The staff are friendly, long time employees. It can be busy on Friday and Saturday night so be sure to make a reservation.

As far as tapas goes, 222 Lyon has nothing special to offer. It is subpar in almost every way. No points are made up by its plain and tight interior. The "fresh baked bread" was stale—worse than a discount bag of already cheap dinner rolls. The "brandy vinegar" that it came with was equally underwhelming. The worst dish we had to bear was the lobster special. $20 for a rubbery, flavourless piece of low-quality (probably frozen) seafood, accompanied by a single strand of limp scallion. Our dishes took awhile to arrive, despite the whole place only being able to accommodate 8 or so couples/groups. Nothing seemed to come at the appropriate temperature except for two bacon-wrapped dates ($5). Service itself was friendly.Ottawa does not have much to offer in terms of tapas generally, but there is surely another place that can do better than this one.

222 Lyon Tapas is a cozy restaurant located at the corner of Lyon and Gloucester st. in a beautiful, restored old house. The Tapas they serve have a large selection of vegan, pescetarian and vegetarian options. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing and the service is friendly and professional. We tried the Mushrooms on toast (the group favorite), House Olives, Grilled Eggplant (tasty!), Shrimps Mona Lisa (I love these), Squid a la Romana (tender and delicious), Smoked Salmon, Mussels (another favorite of mine), plus some of the yummy deserts. We will definitely visit 222 Lyon Tapas again in the future.

222 Lyon Tapas recently hosted my mother's surprise 60th birthday party. Laurie made the planning process seamless by providing a sample menu weeks in advance and was open to my requests at modifying some of the dishes. We decided to go with a variety of shared plates, wine, and beer that our guests could enjoy. Everyone was pleased with the assortment and quantities of food/drinks that were spaced out throughout the evening. The staff is always so hospitable and attentive, whether you are a party of two or a group of 20. Thank you and see you again soon!

I recently visited Lyon Tapas Bar and ordered what I thought would be an appetizer board with Spanish items. As soon as I saw Iberian charcuterie I was in! What I received was extremely disappointing, but even more than that was the identity crisis that was happening on the app board. The only thing that was truly Spanish was the chorizo, which was a 5 out of 10 at best. Other items were Hungarian salami, sliced apple, pear and Apple chutney, some tasteless chunky pork thing, kalmata olives ( I think) , pickled onions, little toasts and some almonds that were...meh. Not what I was expecting AT ALL. Today we have everything at our finger tips from Spain right here in the city. Sol Farmers supplies to stores and restaurants. They have Iberico ham & chorizo, the best canned mussels, octopus etc...Even Winners carries some of the best olive oil potato chips from Spain, as well as top quality olives. I am not sure if this restaurant is trying to branch out and try other types of cuisine. If this is the case, foods should be paired accordingly. On a positive note, the patas bravas are really good. A little different from the authentic dish, but it works.

Walked past this place a few times as it was not obvious but was recommended. Very nice food with cosy atmosphere. Hosts were great and food very good.

I went here with a work party for lunch. It was quite expensive (one colleague had 2 plates, 1 glass wine, bottle of sparkling water) for $60. I found the food to be below above in flavour and presentation. Service was great , especially for a group of chatty folks! I won’t go back.

Spanish Tapas style. Excellent food, nice wines, reasonable prices. But be prepared for an evening of yelling at your dining partner. Very popular with many cheerful patrons all in a rather crowded room. Perhaps better on some nights, but rather loud on my first visit.

Amazing!!! The food was fresh and delicious!! Portions are small but it is definitely worth it!!! The calamari and the mussels were melt in your mouth. The best I've ever had!!!

I always feel like I had a mini vacation when I've leave. Amazing food, mussels are my favourite! The ladies treat everyone like they are their favourite customer... When there are so many.

Without a doubt a favourite of mine. The food is always phenomenal and the staff is so friendly and attentive. Would recommend making a reservation if you want a table as it is a small dining room. There’s always a spot at the bar though! Also make sure to order the garlic shrimp and meatballs no meal is complete without them. The daily croquette specials go fast so don’t think in them just order!

Cozy, warm and vibrant atmosphere! Have been coming in for years. Tapas and drinks are always superb. Must haves: mussels and scallops. Every. Single. Time. Love the service here, makes the place extra special.

Delightful dinner with my beau. 222 is a quaint restaurant, with a nice selection of tapas and wine. Kathy welcomed us with home hospitality.. we felt like family. It is my understanding that there was a big change over in the kitchen staff since our last visit but the food was on point. Our favorite? the stuffed blue cheese bacon wrapped figs. Mm mm good.
