Endless drink menu with plenty of unique options, all the food was so fresh and had some different flavours you don’t always see and prices are pretty fair for the quality and service. Get the focaccia with brown butter for sure and then honestly you can’t go wrong with anything that sounds good to you! We’ll be back for another date night for sure!”

“On average we get take out from Sula Wok once per week. We love the food and the vibe of the place. (Sula and her gang are also very nice to deal with). I really like the traditional Pad Thai. Recently, Sula asked that I try a slightly new version of the dish (apparently less fishy). Sula asked that I let her know if I liked it or not. While I thought the taste was a little different (maybe not as spicy or “fishy”), I still loved it and will be ordering it again.”

“Visited Montana's 13th November 2022 with a group of 7 other people. The atmosphere was good, enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and conversation, followed by our server taking our meal order. She was very efficient and ensured all our needs were met. The order took longer than expected to arrive, and when it did, the food was just warm. We explained to the server who was apologetic, the food was heated to our satisfaction, and enjoyed by all. We were visited by the Manager In order to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, following the issue we had experienced. She very kindly told us she was giving us a reduction on the total price as a sign of goodwill, and also provided free dessert for the group. I would say that was an excellent show of hospitality on the part of Montana's, and we will definitely be arranging future visits.”

I am a very picky person, but the menu and how the food was explained in full detail, no matter the question by our incredible waitress was the first sign this is the place to be! A huge thank you to the waitress especially, the staff as a whole and a huge high-five to the chefs for clearly putting your all in to every single menu item. “I recommend Kettlemans as the food is good and they have good variety. That said. The service is sub-par. My wife and I stop here regularly on Sunday Mornings about 7 am 2 or 3 times a month. Consistently nobody greets us even though there are many workers who make eye contact and just keep doing whatever they're doing. More often than not we have to call out to get attention after waiting several minutes at the front counter. Management doesn't seem to value customer service and simply expects people to keep coming back as if Kettlemans' history entitles them to customers. That is a surprising attitude in an otherwise excellent store.”

The chicken bacon ranch wrap I ordered was fresh and as good as Tim Hortons food gets. I did end up waiting for a minute at the pick up window. Overall a good experience.”

“We have frequently visited this location using the drive thru and have had great service. I ordered a few things today and the staff forgot to add turkey to my sandwich. I didn't realize that until I reached home. Gave them a quick call and she realized her mistake immediately and told me to come back for another sandwich. I went back and picked up the sandwich. She also offered me a muffin for the inconvenience and was so apologetic about it. Overall great way of handling the situation and owning up to it.

“We went this morning, on May 20th for our 48th wedding anniversary brunch. The food was incredible, the best we ever ate for breakfast. “My absolute FAVOURITE shawarma place. Can't sing its praises enough. Extremely friendly staff, generous portions (no stinginess with the meat!), fresh and delicious food, all very reasonably priced. Family run place, I think there's exactly one employee there who isn't part of the family.

While I usually get a beef shawarma wrap or plate here, I NEED to shout out the falafel - it's by far the best falafel I've had in the city. Not the best I've had period, but for Ottawa it goes hard as hell. Wish I knew about this place for the 13 years I was vegetarian, because it would've been a lifesaver. None of that dry stuff that plagues this city. Pretty sure the mom makes it.

This was for certain the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever eaten. I had the beef vermicelli with half salad/half vermicelli and my kiddo had beef pho. The salad part of my vermicelli was so flavourful with tons of fresh mint and cilantro. My kiddo was also blown away and finished every bit of the very large serving of pho. I will make a point of returning every time I am in Ottawa. Oh - and the restaurant was spotless!”

The takoyaki was what I expected, super yummy.
I think the fish was good. The sushi rice was a lot harder than I'm used to, not as fluffy. Maybe should have a bit more water

The poke bowl, the ingredients were good but it was missing some flavor. I realized there wasn't any spicy mayo.

I'm thinking the food could be made for the demographic since this is decently away from downtown and some my friends like less fluffy rice and the spicy mayo might be too strong for some people.

I would definitely make it optional to add spicy mayo for the poke bowl and tempura bits but I love the texture of them so that's a personal preference”

Instead, it leans on a few details that can elevate the lowliest ingredients. Slathering one side of bread with mayo and griddling it gives supermarket white a crackling veneer, while leaving the rest suitably soft and squishy. Sprinkling the tomato with salt and letting it sit a while helps the seasoning penetrate. Baking the bacon leaves it stick-straight (so the sandwich is less likely to topple), while pulling it from the oven before it’s fully crisp keeps it a little fatty. A slab of iceberg — cut crosswise from the whole head (preferably from the center) — is a game-changer, ensuring the sandwich's structural integrity and delivering exceptional crunch. Whenever I have a bad day and don’t know what to eat. Where do I go? Al’s Diner. Why? Because the BLT sandwich there is made exactly as described above. “I had not seen my brother from another mother in almost 3 years so when he visited Ottawa this past weekend I made a dinner reservation for Sunday night. I made this reservation, partly on some reviews I had seen and having eaten the lobster ravioli previously as a takeout menu option. The restaurant is in a beautiful century home with photos adjoining the walls of all the famous politicians, musicians, and other stars from Ottawa or having eaten there while visiting the capital that have eaten there. The service was exceptional, the waiter stopped by every few minutes to top up our water or ask if we needed anything. Onto the food… We found the food to be pedestrian at Best. I would’ve rated it at 3.8 and my dinner companion at 3.4 but we do not have those options here. My lobster ravioli had a sauce that was heavy enough to anchor a boat although it offered a nice flavour pallet. His veal was similar, tender with a nice mushroom sauce however it was overly salted. I recommend this place as long as you know what you’re getting ahead of time. The prices are on the high side, but certainly not the most expensive in the Ottawa region.”

“Had dinner with a friend a couple of days ago and had an overall good experience but there was room for improvement. I ordered the coquilles st jacques. While the scallops were cooked well the purée lacked flavour.. missing that hit of cheese. I had to use some lemon to liven the dish a bit. My friend had the streak frites, medium rare that came rare. We had the kitchen bring to temp. I had a bite and it was tender and flavourful. I will return to try more from the menu and see how it goes. A great place either way for atmosphere and drinks.”

My favorite was the selroti achar and chowmein with their chutney. It gave me a typical Nepali taste and it felt so good. The service was lovely. “We had such a lovely experience here Saturday night. I had made a reservation for four, but ended up arriving with our son as well when our babysitting plans didn’t work out. I apologized that we were suddenly five, and the staff were so gracious about it, immediately putting together a larger table for us and making us feel completely welcome.

The food was amazing, but what really stood out to me was the service. The staff was warm, attentive and seemed genuinely aware of what might make our evening easier and more enjoyable. At one point the chef even sent out a little vegetarian sushi roll for our son to try which was such a thoughtful surprise.

It was just a really lovely evening all around. Great food, wonderful service, and the kind of hospitality I'm still thinking about days later.”

“The staff at Dinette Atomique clearly take pride in the food they serve up and and its flavours. The menu reflects fusion of south asian flavours with a range of other dishes and for the most part things work well. The only improvement I can think of would be to strengthen the use of herbs such as cilantro and mint that really do give flavour twists that make this style of cooking already stand out. The spring rolls were excellent but departed from most spring rolls in that they were more like sausages with fewer vegetable ingredients. Although this made them heavier than expected they were still excellent. The Crispy Rice Cake Hash was also well put together and unique. The restaurant is full of finishing touches like the chef's own hot sauce and ketchup etc - all rounding out a unique food experience. I would definitely return to try some more items from the menu and the atmosphere is unique and melds closely with the second hand shop next door!”
