“On average we get take out from Sula Wok once per week. We love the food and the vibe of the place. (Sula and her gang are also very nice to deal with). I really like the traditional Pad Thai. Recently, Sula asked that I try a slightly new version of the dish (apparently less fishy). Sula asked that I let her know if I liked it or not. While I thought the taste was a little different (maybe not as spicy or “fishy”), I still loved it and will be ordering it again.“

“Came here on a whim after going to a brewery and needed some quick food. It was a Friday night, so it was very busy, but luckily there was a table for two because we just walked in. Super great service and very friendly staff. The orders came out very quick since it’s mainly dumplings and we tried the lamb and coriander as it’s not something that I can make at home and we also tried the curry pan fried dumplings. Both were super delicious and actually very filling. We took some of it home and they included some of the spicy sauce with it. Definitely will be coming back to try more! I would suggest coming in a group so you can order multiple things.“

“My favourite lunch spot! This small take-out stand offers a small but varied selection of classic northern Chinese dishes; my favourites are the zhajiang noodle and the dumplings. The prices are a really great deal (and tax is included in the price!), especially for the noodle dishes which are quite filling. And the family who runs this place are super sweet and friendly. I cannot recommend this spot highly enough if you're at uOttawa and are looking for a quick, affordable, tasty, and satisfying meal!“

“We were driving from Toronto to Montreal and decided to stop here for dinner at around 10pm. It’s conveniently located near the highway exit and lots of parking on the street. I had the lemongrass chicken pho and it was probably the best pho I’ve had, much better than the pho chains in the GTA. I absolutely love com tam and this was like the pho version of it, which I’ve never seen a restaurant do before. The portion was generous for a small, lots of meat and toppings. The service was amazing as well, the staff were extremely attentive and kind, and were able to accommodate our allergies. If we are ever back in Ottawa, we would definitely visit again.“

“I’ve been a few times now and just went for my son’s birthday. We had a large group and there was something there for everyone. Everything was fresh and delicious as usual. We will continue to have Happy Lamb on our dinner out rotation 😊“

“Nice fancy look in the restaurant. Restaurant entrance could be updated to match the experience from the interior. Service was ok and the wait time was long. We went there as a family with children so the children got bored. Otherwise, the food came in big portions so you can share and it tasted delicious.“

Our usual spot on Somerset has closed so we ended up coming here on a whim. Quite certain we will be back – it’s a very casual spot, service is good and so is the food! We came here pretty late (ie. after normal dinner hours) and so it was pretty quiet. We started off with the Szechuan soup followed by an egg roll and a vegetable spring roll. All delicious. Their plum sauce is made in house and is not too sweet which is nice. For our main we shared an order of steamed rice, pepper steak and the egg noodle with chicken and vegetables. No complaints at all! We look forward to coming back and trying other dishes.“

“Love these guys. Typical Chinese-Canadian food, have been ordering the combo F for over a decade. Food is simple, but very tasty. Also, years ago (before uber eats and all that), I was actually missing a buck or two (mistake on my part, didn't count my money right like a first year university student that can't handle his liquor quite yet) and their delivery guy was nice enough to give me the food anyways. “I go here once a week for lunch. A true gem in Chinatown. Their porks and ducks are wonderful. Lunch boxes are packed with good portions woth veggies or tofu. The cooks are so friendly. I spend too much money here... but it won't stop me“

“I have loved so good since I was 5 yrs old. For more than 25 years I've been going to eat Peter So's pepper salt squid, Indonesian shrimp, sweetheart eggplant and garlic green beans. Every birthday this is my family's spot. Since Peter retired and sold the restaurant it's changed, which is understandable. Until this year the food was the same. But now, my favorite pepper salt squid is made differently, the sweetheart eggplant isnt availsble, and the Indonesian shrimp has no peanut sauce(a dish he created for my mom and added to the menu because she couldn't pick what she wanted one day). Dont get me wrong, their food is still fantastic and the Shanghai noodles are amazinf, the best crispy beef you will ever have. BUT. My heart is broken after realizing my favorite deep fried pepper salt squid no longer tastes or feels like it used to last year and for the last 25 years. I'm really sad they changed the breading and the cuts, while I get different chefs and different ingredients are maybe the reason, it was the exact same for 25 yrs even after selling the restaurant. Maybe the chef changed. Just really sucks as it's the end of an era for my favorite dish. 😭“

“Everything is simply awesome. The menus are simple, with a lot if options. The service is very polite and friendly (and online ordering is a big plus), food is delivered very promptly (one time it was 15 minutes early!). The food portions are generous, but quality is not sacrificed for quantity. What's a cool plus is that they use a mix of Styrofoam and reusable plastic containers (not only better for storage but a little less wasteful). I have only eaten 3 times from here, but have been very happy all times. The fried rice, general tao chicken, chicken balls, and egg rolls (among like 5 others I've tried) have all tasted great. Definitely think I've found my new Chinese delivery / take out place!“

“We ordered our Chinese food from the Country Place Chinese Restaurant for the first time today. The food arrived hot and was just about the best Chinese food we have eaten in a very long time! We asked for no onions and they cooked all our dishes that way, which is very important to me. I highly recommend Country Place if you are looking for a wonderful meal!

“I was really impressed with the cantonese chow mein. Often times chow mein is sitting in a soupy cornstarch. This place did a very nice job. The ma por Tofu had the perfect spice level to it served on a nice bed of rice.
