“Great spot for a quick takeout option during workdays. Portions are actually pretty good for a lunch hours - not too much to put you to sleep but enough to fill you up. The special of the day (satay chicken) was really good and will definitely return for more.“
“I love their vegetable Tom Yum soup, although it is extremely hot and spicy. My favorite dish is the shrimp with three kinds of mushrooms. Other favorites in my family are the Jumbo Wonton soup which is loaded with pork, shrimp and noodles.Jumbo has so much variety of Chinese and Thai food. We are regulars here.“
“This has to be our favourite place for Chinese food. It’s always hot, fresh, and tasty!! We’ve tried the next closest Chinese place in Findlay Creek and it is incredibly overpriced, and quality isn’t comparable. Happy Lam will leave your pocket and tummy full!! It’s def worth the drive!“
“I usually order online, but it's always fast, right, and really yummy, delivery guys are always pleasant to deal with, and they actually read the comment section when you put something in it ^_^ love this place, have been ordering from them for at least 2 years now, and as long as I live around here, will keep ordering from them ;)“
“Celebrated my son’s birthday. Food was great as always. Also the service was awesome. Sandy, Mimi & Mari were always so prompt and attentive, even though the place was packed to the brim. Excellent job ladies. Giving 3 stars for the atmosphere because it was too crowded and very noisy. But otherwise it was a great experience.“
“Sue and Lanlan was our server this evening and she did an amazing job she was very attentive and saw to every one of our needs and I would recommend anybody coming here at any time The food was fresh and hot and plenty of variety and it was a fantastic time. Again big compliments to Sue and Lanlan for all her hard work tonight.Parking: Plenty of free parking and lots of spots.“
“Ellie was our server and she was absolutely amazing and generous . As a first timer in a restuarant I get anxious when it comes to choosing a meal but she went above and beyond to ensure that the whole ordering process was thoroughly explained all the way till the end . We will definitely be returning here without fail . I ? recommend this restuarant to everyone“
“Has been our go-to restaurant when we are around downtown Ottawa since the location opened. Great services and they have the most authentic and delicious Sichuan dishes in town. They also have a wide range of non-spicy dishes to choose from.“
“The service was very pleasant, the host was a responsive person catering to our needs. The location is easy to find and seating arrangements are comfortable. The portions were big and filling. My feedback would be that the Pho was a bit bland. As a food lover, I suggest that the pho could use some more spring onions, cilantro and fried garlic for garnish. Adding some basil or making chilli oil available would make the taste much better.“
“There are so many options to make your own noodle soup. You get a bowl and load up your ingredients and at the register you pay by weight. Many ingredients are like hotpot ingredients but some I have never seen before so that's very interesting. I kind of over did it and ended up paying over $40 for myself and took home leftovers. Service was great - helpful and fast. Atmosphere is bright and clean - would take someone here for a date.“
“Recommended, super delicious, the sauerkraut and pork belly are so fragrant, and the beef tongue and lamb are also delicious. Four people were so full after eating three portions of meat, and I want to eat it again next week. The key is that the service today is also very considerate. This is my first time here. Tips for eating all the barbecue details“
“This is a fantastic chinese noodle restaurant with northwestern China’s style e.g Lanzhou extended noodles. Sufficient amount with delicious noodle soups, reasonable price, very tested flavours and assorted varieties as well as moderate salt as spice that promotes health and mores nutrition are my reasons of strongly recommending to my friends to enjoy in the restaurant. Do not miss this great noodles! I believe you will return once you eat here!“
“Great food for a great price! We first came here three years ago and the quality is still the same. They have good options, and the food is simple but homey and delicious. I highly recommend the big wonton soup! We’ll definitely be back when we’re in Ottawa. They don’t seem to have a washroom available (at least when we went), but otherwise it was really awesome!“
“We saw this place and decided to give it a try, our first time trying this cuisine. We ordered Schezuan Chicken and Special Lamb Skewers. These were very delicious and juicy. We also ordered a Spicy and Sour base soup with Orleans Chicken and this was so flavourful with the perfect spice level. Keep in mind the Mild is pretty spicy to begin with.Thw service was impressive and fast. We are pleasantly surprised and would definitely be a regular.“
“It’s a Chinese fine dining in town. Good quality food with excellent presentation for each dish. Well trained staffs and they explained well for each food items on the menu. Very clean and quiet environment for dinner. Washroom is clean. Price definitely is a bit higher than other Chinese restaurants. This restaurant is located in a busy street at the market area so it may not be easy to find a parking spot on the weekend.“
“Super excited to find a Chinese restaurant that has very authentic Cantonese flavours and is probably one of the only places in Ottawa that has a similar taste to what you can find in Toronto. Wok Hey seems to have inherited the Google Maps page of the previous restaurant but it is in fact under new ownership since about 7 months ago.We got the pepper salt pork chop, fish with tofu, and stir fried rice noodles with beef. Everything was cooked well and the seasoning is spot on for our tastes. The noodles had some wok hei flavour, the pork chop was fried nicely and with a good amount of aromatics, and the fish tofu had a freshly fried tofu and a good sauce that held its texture till the end of the meal.Staff are very nice. 10% off pick up orders. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.“
“I tried this place once and then I got hooked. If you're looking for a good hotpot place in Ottawa, this is it. It has a great selection of items to choose from and the various broths... so good. You won't be disappointed. Good food, good prices, great staff. What more do you want from a hotpot place. My go to place for hotpot! Delicious!!“
“Tasty favourful Chongqing noodles - soup or dry!!If you’re looking for an off the beaten path Chinese noodle house then this is your place! Flavourful, spicy, pungent and very filling. Best choice is the Noodle Soup with beef, pork intestines, ground pork & yellow peas. Chongqing cuisine is a branch of Sichuan Cuisine (one of eight Chinese Cuisines) featuring pungent and spicy flavours as a result of liberal use of garlic, chili peppers, Sichuan peppercorn, beans, mustard and sesame paste.Reasonably priced.Owners are very nice people. If you’re looking for tasty spicy Chinese noodles then this is the place in Ottawa!!Chongqing Dishes is a branch of Sichuan Cuisine (one of eight Chinese Cuisines) featuring pungent and spicy flavor as a result of li Chongqing Dishes is a branch of Sichuan Cuisine (one of eight Chinese Cuisines) featuring pungent and spicy flavor as a result of and other ingredients“
“A local HK inspired cafe in the morning. I highly recommend the bolo bao with corned beef and egg. It was spicy and had a great kick! The french toast was also outstanding! Fried to golden perfection, drowned in syrup, topped with butter and filled with an amazing custard in the centre.I enjoyed the drinks but felt like the yuenyeung was a little sweet for me personally. The buns were ok. I think they were missing the signature fluffiness of a good asian bun. The dog in the hotdog bun was REALLY DELICIOUS but it leaned closer to a “pigs in a blanket” than a hotdog bun. I would skip on the egg tarts.Overall, this was a really good brunch/breakfast cafe!“
“Best chinese takeout in the byward market hands down. Highly recommend! It has become my girlfriends and mine go to spot for comfort food! Reasonably priced but not cheap. Well worth it! Only 4 star for atmosphere because you cannot sit in and dine as its a small place and only meant for pickups. Other than that its great authentic chinese!“
“The all the dumplings are very good. The portion size is a bit small but they are larger dumplings so it evens out. The pork dumplings are the best but I recommend ordering all 3 options. But the wonton soap was delicious. All of the food was cooked perfectly. Most of the dumplings come in sets of 4 and the larger set of 6 gives you all 3 types of dumplings. Two each. The location itself doesn’t have much seating but is not typical very busy. It’s very clean and the service was good. I recommend trying it. One of the best tasting dumpling places in Ottawa.“
“The food is absolutely delicious! I was pleased with the price as it was less expensive than the other places we usually order from. The person I spoke to over the phone was very polite and very helpful and the lady who delivered was so sweet and very polite. Ming's is definitely our new favorite Chinese restaurant! Great job guys!“
“I may not be a rice connoisseur but it was open and they had rice. These guys have such a wide variety of good dishes. If you can’t find something you like on their enormous menu you’re the problem. Got the Udon Noodle and it was pretty good but my friend’s Vermecelli Singapore noodle dish was the bomb. Would recommend.“
“This is one of the best places to get Chinese food in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. They are so accommodating to my very weird allergies (celery) and take extra steps to ensure that my food is safe. I honestly cannot recommend them enough. Their food is delicious, the staff is extremely friendly, and we thoroughly enjoy visiting them every couple months as a treat. Please give them a try. They have amazing food, an awesome team, and they're a great addition to our community. I can't say enough about this great restaurant!! This review is my own, and I was not compensated to write it.“
“We were a group of 3 and ordered the chicken corn soup which tasted great, sizzling black pepper beef steak with good portions of steak, spicy garnished chicken which had generous portions of fried as well as shredded chicken with sugar snap peas, vegetable fried rice, and chicken wings which were crispy and juicy at the same time!Overall, food was decent and tasted food. I felt it lacked a bit of flavor and would have done better with a few dashes of sauce & salt. Service was fast and friendly. I would visit again to try more of the menu items.“
“The food was really amazing!! Would definitely order from here again! The service was fast, friendly and the price was affordable for the food. Good quality food!! The atmosphere was not much it a small restaurant. Mostly built for take out.“
“Amazing take out. Definitely recommend going yourself and getting it as it's ready in 20 minutes. Delivery takes 45ish. Their food is great! Our favourites are the egg rolls, beef and broccoli, and shanghai noodles! Definitely a take out (not dine in!) place. Kind of hole-in-the-wall-esque. But the food more than makes up for the decor!“
“Let me just say this, the Minda Cafe is one of the best restaurants/cafes I've ever been to. Run by the sweetest husband and wife and the best thing about the Minda Cafe is their food is made in house with fresh ingredients for very fair prices. My mother works across the street and introduced me to the Cafe and I was absolutely amazed by the taste of everything I tried. They just catered my daughter 5th birthday party and everyone at the party LOVED what they had prepared for us! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for great freshly made food, with the most wonderful service! Thank you Minda Cafe!“
“Ordered a meal for 4 last evening, the website was easy to navigate, delivery was on time and friendly, food was wrapped up and sealed so well, nothing was leaking, great sauces, food was fresh and delicious, we were very pleased with everything, we'll definitely order from here again, highly recommend.“
“My wife and I ate here with a couple of friends. We started with won ton soup, hot and sour soup as well as vegetable spring rolls. They ordered chicken satay, mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice and pineapple chicken. We ordered beef with ginger and onions, five spice prawns and pork fried rice. Everything was freshly made and delicious. They received all their dishes before us though so service was a bit out of sync. We had dinner on a pretty cold night and we had to ask our waiter to turn on the overhead heater as we were seated near the door and every time it opened, we got a blast of cold air. The seating area is small so it would be difficult to avoid this. Food was excellent, service was a bit slow and price was a bit high. Would recommend and would certainly return when it’s warmer.“
“Amongst what I ordered, the best was the steamed chicken with chili sauce, highly recommended. Didn’t like the fried rice, not much of wok nor frying flavor and way too spicy to enjoy it. The pork intestines with green peppers were good. Fast and friendly service. They don’t accept credit cards; they do take debit cards.“
“Ruby house is a great take away in vanier,Not a sit down place but great food and the staff super nice and welcoming even my kid loves ruby houses wonton soup and let's not let the amazing chicken sooguy. In short you wont be disappointed though your wallet will feel it.Kid-friendliness: My kid always want to go and they are very kind“
“The place was in Chinatown area but was closed and I felt a bit sad since I was pretty happy with my visits before pandemic. Now it's back and the dishes are still as good as it used to be. I feel relaxed talking with the owner just like talking with an old friend although I only met him couple times. The dishes are of homestyle from northen and northeastern China. Authentic and reasonably priced.“
“Wonderful place! Dropped by this evening and got the pork buns, tea egg and a soda and it was pretty fair price on campus. The food is homemade and made with care and personally, for the quality and care, I think it is a very fair, and good price. The buns were nice and soft, had ample filling and we liked they added vinegar and chili oil which elevated the taste. The tea egg was good as well.Overall, highly recommend! The wait time for food was pretty quick and compared to other options on campus, I think this is clearly one of the best.“
“Très bon service, un beau petit buffet pas cher. Content d'être tombé dessus durant nos vacances. Par contre, pas de dessert en dehors des biscuits. Si vous êtes une bibitte à sucre, ce n'est peut-être pas votre restaurant idéal.“
“This is our 3rd order within 1 month. We have been in Orléans since 2008 and had ordered from a few other places but never this place. So one month ago I told my wife we should try a different place. So after looking at reviews on Google. I came across Lucky House which had 4.3 ⭐.Based on the reviews we decided to order from them.......WOW!!! We would order maybe 4 times a year but since trying Lucky House as I stated above we've already ordered 3 times in 1 month. There food is just as I remember chinese food was when I was young (I'm 49 now). The quality and taste of their food is out of this world.Thank you for your awesome food!!! Please don't change.“
“Ordered dinner for two for Take out and no surprises here - food was consistently enjoyable and was delivered to our in timely manner by friendly courteous driver. reminder to let restaurant know to hold off on plastic cutlery and soya sauce if you don’t need it.“
“The guy at the front recommended a noodle dish spicy lo Mein I think. Was the best recommendation as it was exactly what I was craving. Good amount of spice but not overwhelming. My husband always orders the general tao and swears it's the best in the Gatineau area.“
“My family has been coming here for decades. It's our favourite Chinese restaurant in the city. Best BBQ pork ever! ♥Vegetarian options: They have so many items that are vegetarian and they are all just as delicious as the meat options.Parking: Never needed it but they have a parking lotKid-friendliness: I used to come here as a baby and they have high chairs and are very sweet to babies ♥“
“Ordered the handmade noodles with chili tofu on the side and it was delicious! The spices in the chili tofu were fantastic and complemented the fried noodles well. Wasn't a designated veg option but would highly recommend this combination for vegetarians if you happen to visit.“
“This is a great restaurant, we were very happy with our order. The General Tao chicken was delicious and just the right amount of spice (ie: not very) and used the lean chicken breast so it was not as fatty as others I've had elsewhere. The shrimp low mein was tasty and delicious, noodles perfectly al-dente and generous on the shrimp. And the chicken fried rice was also a generous amount, and had bits of chicken breast in it. Not greasy at all, everything was tasty. We highly recommend it!“
“5/5 ?! Highly recommended the potato noodle stew! This is the first place I found in Ottowa, they have potato noodle stew on the menu. Tasty food, good portions, nice staff, and a cozy place. Perfect dishes in wintertime. a visitor or local worth to try. I highly recommend this casserole potato flour. The powder is very Q-bomb, and the taste is also very good. The burrito feels good too, try it next time you go. Recommended for you. ??“
“Its a slice of Hong Kong. The ambiance is not great but that's not the reason for going there. The food is great, and the service is attentive. When we have asked we have had a great deal of assistance with understanding some of the dishes.“
“This basement-level Chinese restaurant might not be appealing at first glance, but it is a hidden gem with delicious food at great prices and commendable service, which is (unfortunately) rare at Chinese restaurants of this price range in Canada.I came here for dinner one night in September partly because I was craving dim sum, and this is one of the few restaurants I found that serves dim sum during dinner time. They also have discounted menu items after 8 PM, but the waitress was kind enough to offer us the discount for one dish even though it was not quite 8 when we were ordering. That was a nice touch. Talking about the service, there was one waitress in particular who was really polite and served us with a smile. We had an issue with one of our dishes (it tasted weird), and without further questions, the waitress apologized and offered to replace our dish. Now that is how you treat customers! The rest of the dishes we ordered were all really tasty. Keep up the great work!“
“First time ordering from this restaurant, I live in the neighbourhood and really enjoyed our meal. We had the sweet and sour pork, chicken fried rice, General Tao chicken, Shanghai beef noodles, and spring rolls. Everything was good. I will definitely order from here again! Thank you to the friendly delivery server and good delivery timing.“
“The lady working the counter is very friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious as well as being a pretty decent price for the amount and quality of it. Only detracting part for me is that it's in a mall food court, but otherwise an excellent place to get something to eat.“
“This used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant in town. We even got a VIP membership and that's how much we love it. Our fav dish is braised beef noodles and we order it all the time. But unfortunately, I noticed that the taste started to go down hill starting from this year. Pretty disappointed with the noodles today as it has no flavor and it tastes like it has been watered down.“
“Reliably good Americanized Chinese food. Generous portions and friendly, fast service as well. Occasionally we've had minor mix-ups in our larger orders but everything's good so it's nothing we worry about, and often they'll throw in an order of fried rice or something to compensate.“
“The food is exactly what you crave for Chinese food and the portions are huge. The service is quick and to the point without being rude. Very polite and professional staff. Just to be clear, it's a "take-out" place so there isn't any "atmosphere" to judge, so to speak.“
