“I discovered this restaurant about 3 months ago and since then, im addicted to it! This place has amazing good food. The Bun Bo Hue "spicy", lemongrass soup is my favourite. I eat it at least 2-3 time per month. It is sooooo flavourful!!! Then, I've tried Bun Cha for the first time yesterday and I fell in love with this plate too. So fresh, so flavourful. I can't wait to discover more of their food. And, the service is amazing, employees are super nice. Love this place“
“Customer service was very poor, only half of our order came to the table as we were told they’re out of chicken after getting half of it. So we had to eat just the fried rice and soup without any mains. They offered that the rice will be on the house, but then secretly charged us for it. Overall the staff was very disrespectful and not courteous at all. Food was good though but not worth the service we got.“
“The service was very pleasant, the host was a responsive person catering to our needs. The location is easy to find and seating arrangements are comfortable. The portions were big and filling. My feedback would be that the Pho was a bit bland. As a food lover, I suggest that the pho could use some more spring onions, cilantro and fried garlic for garnish. Adding some basil or making chilli oil available would make the taste much better.“
“The pho here was absolutely delicious!I got the large size however it was very big- enough to feed 2-3 people. The well done beef was very very good however the short rib beef was tough & hard to chew.We also got the deep fried shrimp rolls and they were crispy & delicious. Will definitely come back here !“
“Experience was okish, chicken in banh mi was extra chewy and did not have enough seasoning but taste was good and bread seemed very fresh. Spring roll was good and Pho we took was with shrimp wonton. We found rice noodle quantity too much and broth less for a bowl of pho. Service was quick initially bit no one came back to check on us until billing which was strange. Ambience and location is nice, found food and service average“
“We were in an out of this spot within 45 minutes; such quick service! It was nice and quiet within, and our server was the sweetest woman. She was efficient and really made our experience special. The thin egg noodle soup (with tofu) was so tasty; I got a medium and have plenty of leftovers.Great bang for your buck!“
“One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa. I have been in many places from Paris , Nice, Cannes, Venice, Rome, Florence, Amsterdam, Geneva, Frankfurt, Berlin, to Washington DC, Austin ...There's only a couple of restaurants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh ville that are better. Excellent price-quality ratio but no parking, no reservation and no credit card accepted.“
“I'm not going to say I have the most complex palate because normally, when I have pho, I have a bad habit of wanting to pack on the hoisin sauce. I felt no desire to here however, the broth was just that good. Add on top the fantastic customer service and how the server clearly remembers her customers, I'd say this place is top-notch“
“Great family business with fresh and generous portions. It’s hard to choose between all these pho restaurants on sommerset, but this has been our go too for a little while and it doesn’t disappoint.Try the special spring rolls: they’re totally worth it.The actual venue/restaurant is very basic, but the food and service are great. Good take-out option also.“
“Love this place! Fresh food 100% of the time. I have been coming here for years and always. Get the same thing. A3 and P1!Freshest Pho in town!Vegetarian options: Lots of options availableParking: Lots of side streets for parkingKid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurant“
“They have a vast menu of mostly Vietnamese diseases. I have tried quite a few items, from wonton to pho to stir fry dishes to sizzling, and every single item I tried was delicious. But the best part of this restaurant is their staffs, who are very friendly and welcoming. 5 star for the service!“
“i went here with my bestfriend for a birthday dinner and we absolutely loved it. the girl who works there is sweet and she was super patient and explained how the ordering process works since it was a bit different from more western restaurants. the food was cheap, which was surprising considering how amazing it was. im taking my partner here on a date later this week, and definitely coming back many more times.“
“Grabbed a Tofu Banh Mi Lunch special to go which included a shrimp spring roll. The spring roll was so hot and fresh and the best I have ever eaten. The sandwich was huge, great taste- could've used a bit more spice, but I'm sure I could've asked. I will be back!“
“I've been coming here on and off for over 20 years. Every time I have a sip of the complimentary tea (hot or cold depending on the season), it brings back a lot of good memories. Even though I don't live nearby, I always try to stop by if I'm shopping in the neighborhood. The food has always been excellent and affordable, the service prompt and cheerful. I usually get the fresh rolls (BBQ Pork is my fave), iced coffee with sugar and a large bowl of Pho.I hope to continue dining here for another 20 years!“
“Very good! I went here with my beautiful wife when we were both starving in the cold Ottawa weather and this place blew us away...The food was made very well and was also very filling. We ordered the large Pho and could barely finish it even though we shared the bowl. We also got the spring rolls and overall the food was excellent. The tea was very nice as well, I highly recommend it.The service and atmosphere were terrific also with very accommodating workers who were very polite and pleasant to be around. Finally, the price of the food was extremely reasonable. All in all we had a very large serving of food and with tax and tip it came out to about $25.Highly recommend you check it out!“
“So much flavor! We came from out of town looking for a Vietnamese restaurant, happy we stumbled upon this place! The food was delicious! We got served tea and asked the waiter for a recommendation.. we ordered fresh spring rolls and Tom Kha Gai Chicken, and the Pad Thai. So good, bookmarked amd we will be back!!“
“I’m so happy to finally have some bánh mì that tastes like the ones in Vietnam! Best bánh mì in Ottawa, the French bread is perfectly crunchy and soft, the viet mayo is delicious, and the pork so good!Rất ngon!!(Ordered off of Uber)“
“As they say in Vietnamese, the food was "Thom gun!!" (most probably that's misspelled, but it means 'delicious'!!). We found a good parking spot behind the restaurant, so it was convenient, and the service right after we ordered our food was quick, excellent and when we asked for more lime, we were surprised when they brought us a bunch!! Usually, restaurants bring us only one tiny lime quarter (or two, if we are lucky), but here, they are not tight with their service. The food was the happy note of my day.Yum-yummy!!Parking: There is a lot for customers just behind the restaurant“
“Overall great light taste, aromatic broth, not loaded with seasonings. Like the simple menu so you are not loaded with options.Even though the flavour is authentic, it’s lacking a couple of factors:- Pho Hanoi should be loaded with onions but not here.- Authentic BBH also has port trotters and blood but not here. That said, doesn’t impact the flavour and would still come back again.“
“Always come here for pho, #100. This time we ordered pad grow prow and although it's not the authentic version we're accustomed to, it's still delicious and amazing in flavour. For those who know what pad grow prow taste like, this is not it. It's more like a beef pepper stir fry.So just a heads up for those expecting PGP.“
“Don’t underestimate this spot! The location is in the basement but the moment you can smell the food as you come down the stairs you’ll know why this place has such great reviews. The tofu peanut soup was amazing and definitely hit the spot, was even better with a side of rice! The general Tao vegan chicken was great and we have lots of leftovers. It was such a shock that there was so many vegetarian/vegan options that I took forever choosing, everything sounded so good! We decided to dine in and the cashier was doing a million things but she still took the time to serve us and get us water :) Atmosphere is a little hole in the wall—but not in a bad way—if you can order ahead it can help with wait time as we came when all the delivery orders were coming in. Loved this place and will be back again!!“
“My wife and I ate here with a couple of friends. We started with won ton soup, hot and sour soup as well as vegetable spring rolls. They ordered chicken satay, mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice and pineapple chicken. We ordered beef with ginger and onions, five spice prawns and pork fried rice. Everything was freshly made and delicious. They received all their dishes before us though so service was a bit out of sync. We had dinner on a pretty cold night and we had to ask our waiter to turn on the overhead heater as we were seated near the door and every time it opened, we got a blast of cold air. The seating area is small so it would be difficult to avoid this. Food was excellent, service was a bit slow and price was a bit high. Would recommend and would certainly return when it’s warmer.“
“Can't believe I walked by this place so many times without coming in. Had the triple meat on rice with spring roll, everything was 10/10, and they were very gracious even with us staying a bit past closing.Would definitely visit again!“
“Everything was great! Service, food, quality, quantity and options. There are a handful of options for each type of dish, hot sake and viet coffee with liquor added to it! The taste was authentic and hit the spot. So glad we took a chance on this one bc the outside made me a touch hesitant. Get past it bc it’s worth it!Vegetarian options: There’s a handful of optionsParking: We were staying at a nearby hotel and paid to park there and walked everywhere. Not much street parking available and a little walk from nearby spots, but nothing terrible.“
