“Wow... By far and I mean BY FAR the best dim sum I've had in a long time. The food was delicious and fresh, the portions perfect and the service impeccable. Very happy to have discovered this awesome little place. At a more than fair price to boot!“
“This is a fantastic chinese noodle restaurant with northwestern China’s style e.g Lanzhou extended noodles. Sufficient amount with delicious noodle soups, reasonable price, very tested flavours and assorted varieties as well as moderate salt as spice that promotes health and mores nutrition are my reasons of strongly recommending to my friends to enjoy in the restaurant. Do not miss this great noodles! I believe you will return once you eat here!“
“Great food for a great price! We first came here three years ago and the quality is still the same. They have good options, and the food is simple but homey and delicious. I highly recommend the big wonton soup! We’ll definitely be back when we’re in Ottawa. They don’t seem to have a washroom available (at least when we went), but otherwise it was really awesome!“
“This place is a blast from the past vibe-wise paired with what feels a carefully toned down take on Canadian-Chinese takeout food. The flavours all around lack that bitey high sugar content that you would expect from most of these places -- making it much more approachable to those that would otherwise avoid this type of menu, including those who are more familiar with mainland Chinese food. The textures were quite good compared to typical small town fare as well. The western menu is solid if a little bit less inspired. Our highlight out of it is all of the ice cream, which is very basic but continues with the general theme of the menu having what feels like 50% of the sugar cut out of it to make it much more palatable.Don't get me wrong this is still junky take-out food in all the ways that you want, but those who know the proverb will know what I mean when I say..."Not too sweet."Kid-friendliness: There are several play-place structures.“
“Sweet Basil exceeded all expectations! From the warm ambiance to the delectable dishes, every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. The flavors were exquisite, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was impeccable. We can't wait to return to Sweet Basil for another memorable meal!"“
“I traveled to Ottawa a few days ago. When I passed the market, I was attracted by the four characters of Taiwanese food. I thought I would go in and try the Taiwanese signature dishes of salty crispy chicken and honey milk. The portions are large and the taste is authentic. In addition, I learned from my boss that it has been thirty years since I immigrated to Canada, which is very impressive. After all, it is not easy to work abroad. The boss is also very friendly and generous, making me feel like I am back home. A happy afternoon, everyone can come and sit if you have time!“
“Almost a 5 start had it not be the dry appetizers (satays). Other than that, the main dish (4 different ones) were fantastic! Perfectly spicy to our taste! Perfectly not for those who didn't want spicy. Perfectly "coconuty". Portions were generous! Price was affordable! We are definitely gonna come back and talk about this Little Elephant gem restaurant!Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome but they didn't seem to have apple juice which was not a deal breaker.“
“Don’t underestimate this spot! The location is in the basement but the moment you can smell the food as you come down the stairs you’ll know why this place has such great reviews. The tofu peanut soup was amazing and definitely hit the spot, was even better with a side of rice! The general Tao vegan chicken was great and we have lots of leftovers. It was such a shock that there was so many vegetarian/vegan options that I took forever choosing, everything sounded so good! We decided to dine in and the cashier was doing a million things but she still took the time to serve us and get us water :) Atmosphere is a little hole in the wall—but not in a bad way—if you can order ahead it can help with wait time as we came when all the delivery orders were coming in. Loved this place and will be back again!!“
“Sushi as good as it gets! I traveled to Ottawa last year and came across this place by chance. Visited again this year and it was just as good. At Gokusen everything comes together well - from rice consistency to fish cuts. Chef is a pro with decades of experience and a very nice guy. Very casual and friendly atmosphere (a good break from pretentious fanciness of overpriced places where they can't even get rice rite half the time).Ouick note: my google maps show wrong location, maybe something wrong with my tablet, but search maps by adress.“
“Had the 重庆豌杂面 ("Chongqing minced pork with peas" noodles). Quite delicious. Nice very slightly spicy broth with tahini+peanut making it nice and creamy. Chickpeas were nice and soft, and the minced pork had a nice slightly sweet bean paste taste (at least I think that's what the taste was). The cilantro was a nice touch. It could've been spicier but was delicious as is in any case.“
“Yummy ramen. The broth is borderline not too salty that it can be sipped (or slurped) until it's finished. Good service. Food came out quick. The cube seats seem awkwardly uncomfortable. I was disappointed that my ramen included only half an egg.“
“Ate at the new Hawkesbury location: Incredible, authentic Thai cuisine. Super great service only surpassed by the amazing food. Had: Chicken Satay, Fresh Spring Rolls, Panang Curry, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Crispy Tofu, with a Sticky Mango dessert. Perfect for individual or sharing plates. Cannot recommend enough and needed in the area. Will be back - regularly.“
