“Tasty favourful Chongqing noodles - soup or dry!!If you’re looking for an off the beaten path Chinese noodle house then this is your place! Flavourful, spicy, pungent and very filling. Best choice is the Noodle Soup with beef, pork intestines, ground pork & yellow peas. Chongqing cuisine is a branch of Sichuan Cuisine (one of eight Chinese Cuisines) featuring pungent and spicy flavours as a result of liberal use of garlic, chili peppers, Sichuan peppercorn, beans, mustard and sesame paste.Reasonably priced.Owners are very nice people. If you’re looking for tasty spicy Chinese noodles then this is the place in Ottawa!!Chongqing Dishes is a branch of Sichuan Cuisine (one of eight Chinese Cuisines) featuring pungent and spicy flavor as a result of li Chongqing Dishes is a branch of Sichuan Cuisine (one of eight Chinese Cuisines) featuring pungent and spicy flavor as a result of and other ingredients“
“Good Vietnamese food that fulfilled my Vietnamese cravings. Soup broth was nice and salty. Super flavorful broth that is usually associated with traditional pho. Noodles were nice and springy. Meatballs had nice chew. The portion was also huge and it was quite a struggle to finish a bowl on my own. Service was a bit weird. Overall, server was super friendly but for some reason, we wrote down our own orders instead of her taking the order for us.Good Vietnamese food; nice owner. Get it if you want Vietnamese food.“
“Went with a party of 9 on Saturday night. Only the proprietor was working but was able to cook and serve at a reasonable pace. Quit impressive, really. The best dished were the flat noodles and rice cake ("Neen go"). Wasn't able to serve beer for some reason. No soup dumplings at suppertime, either so that was a little disappointing too. The parking lot was getting repaired but there was still plenty of parking.Vegetarian options: Decent number of veggie options.Parking: Plenty of spots for the strip mall.“
“Ate at the new Hawkesbury location: Incredible, authentic Thai cuisine. Super great service only surpassed by the amazing food. Had: Chicken Satay, Fresh Spring Rolls, Panang Curry, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Crispy Tofu, with a Sticky Mango dessert. Perfect for individual or sharing plates. Cannot recommend enough and needed in the area. Will be back - regularly.“
“Wow... By far and I mean BY FAR the best dim sum I've had in a long time. The food was delicious and fresh, the portions perfect and the service impeccable. Very happy to have discovered this awesome little place. At a more than fair price to boot!“
“This is a fantastic chinese noodle restaurant with northwestern China’s style e.g Lanzhou extended noodles. Sufficient amount with delicious noodle soups, reasonable price, very tested flavours and assorted varieties as well as moderate salt as spice that promotes health and mores nutrition are my reasons of strongly recommending to my friends to enjoy in the restaurant. Do not miss this great noodles! I believe you will return once you eat here!“
“Great food for a great price! We first came here three years ago and the quality is still the same. They have good options, and the food is simple but homey and delicious. I highly recommend the big wonton soup! We’ll definitely be back when we’re in Ottawa. They don’t seem to have a washroom available (at least when we went), but otherwise it was really awesome!“
“This place is a blast from the past vibe-wise paired with what feels a carefully toned down take on Canadian-Chinese takeout food. The flavours all around lack that bitey high sugar content that you would expect from most of these places -- making it much more approachable to those that would otherwise avoid this type of menu, including those who are more familiar with mainland Chinese food. The textures were quite good compared to typical small town fare as well. The western menu is solid if a little bit less inspired. Our highlight out of it is all of the ice cream, which is very basic but continues with the general theme of the menu having what feels like 50% of the sugar cut out of it to make it much more palatable.Don't get me wrong this is still junky take-out food in all the ways that you want, but those who know the proverb will know what I mean when I say..."Not too sweet."Kid-friendliness: There are several play-place structures.“
“Sweet Basil exceeded all expectations! From the warm ambiance to the delectable dishes, every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. The flavors were exquisite, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was impeccable. We can't wait to return to Sweet Basil for another memorable meal!"“
“I’m trying to find the best bun bo hue in the city. The sliced beef and the pork hock were good and clean. The beef shank was cut too thick so it’s a bit hard to chew. The broth was clearly good bone broth that gelatinized when cold. But I was disappointed by the flavour, it’s lacking some spices. The price is higher than most Vietnamese restaurants. It is reasonable as the portion size is a bit bigger. Service was fast. But there are better Bun Bo Hues in the city.“
