I was really impressed with the cantonese chow mein. Often times chow mein is sitting in a soupy cornstarch. This place did a very nice job. The ma por Tofu had the perfect spice level to it served on a nice bed of rice.

Ngl I don’t know what some of these reviews are talking about but I ordered Chinese food from every restaurant in Kanata and they’re all mid at best, this restaurant is the only one that has comparable food to the best ones in Chinatown. Get the eggplant and shrimp in black bean sauce and the shredded chicken with jellyfish, straight fire.
I am absolutely thrilled that Rideau Restaurant in Kanata has reopened! For more than 20 years, this was our absolute go-to spot, and we were heartbroken when it closed a few years ago. My children literally grew up eating their wonderful food. As soon as we found out they were back open, we rushed over today.
