“We stumbled upon orange turtle because of their gluten free options and ended up discovering such a gem. You can tell the owner puts an immense amount of thought, effort, and care into every aspect of this establishment: connecting with customers, meticulously testing recipes, expanding the menu, etc. My mom has celiac disease, so she’s used to getting a subpar, token gluten free option, but the gluten free cookies we had here were some of our of all time favourites.“

“Came in to check out this Local Small Business and get some breakfast, I’d met Esther a couple weeks ago in my daily life and she was wonderful to talk to, So I decided to check it out since we shared a love for Baking. I got a traditional breakfast with 2 eggs, bacon, homefries, sauteed onions and bell pepper (I didn’t hear her mention the peppers when she asked me about onions, but I was so happy to have them), and toast. I also got a salted caramel latte with my meal, and for my friends birthday later today, I got 2 cupcakes: one biscotti, and one oreo nutella, as well as a salted caramel bar. I’m super picky about my baked goods, as a baker myself, but they were excellent. My friend enjoyed his cupcakes and I loved my salted caramel bar, even the bottom layer had a lovely subtle sweetness and pleasant melty texture. Thank you Esther! Love the passion you bring to your wonderful bakery!“

“I ordered the Raspberry Rhubarb tort for a family celebration. Even though I am not typically a big fan of rhubarb, it was absolutely delicious. The crust was like shortbread and the flavour delicious. Be still my heart til the next opportunity to enjoy again!“

“Keerthi did a really great job for my wedding cake! She let us have a few different flavours of smaller cakes for sampling, was really receptive to our design ideas, and delivered the cake and decoration completely independently and punctually. Most importantly, it tasted great!“

“I went to get some scones after work, and even though I was so close to closing time they had lots of scones available (which they discount the next day)
I tried the peach, vanilla, orange, oatmeal, and two of the savory ones which I am not sure of the flavor, I asked for one of each for whatever was left. Food was wonderful they are so good, eventhe next day I heated them up for 30 seconds and they were perfect. The vanilla one was my favourite, but the savory ones became a great sandwhich.“

“Had coffee and a sweet pastry, both fresh and very good, but the real hidden gem here is the fresh-out-of-the-oven cheese and meat pie. The dough is paper-thin with perfectly crispy edges, and the combination of meat and cheese is absolutely delicious.

The issue, I'm trying to watch my weight... so here I was looking at all the delicious treats. A small peacan tarte! And I only bought 1 cookie. Just 1 cookie. This is how you stay healthy :)

Let me tell you about this cookie. It's the size of 12 cookies combined. But calories are only counter by the amount of cookies you eat. Which was just 1. This chocolate chip cookie was so delicious.

“I have been going to Golden Baguette for about 10 years now! Everything is fresh and tasty with great prices. The owners are a lovely couple always greeting me with a warm smile. My go-to is their Wonton soup! It's so yummy and filling! I live in the east end but my offices are only a 10-minute walk from their location, so i was worried that the pandemic might force them to close but luckily, they are still the best hidden gem on Bank Street! Depending on my work schedule I go there once or twice a week because I crave their comfort food! I LOVE Golden Baguette!!“

“I like the special where you can get 2 main dishes, rice and a drink for 11.99. I've tried the menudo, bopis, adobong pusit and they were all really good but the best by far was the Bicol Express.

They also make pork and chicken siopao buns that always have me coming back for more. The server is also very friendly and informative.“

No kidding. I rarely can get such crusty on the outside soft in the inside kind of FRESH buns. Their bags of buns are all $4.50 each. They have small buns hamburger buns subway buns etc. The best thing is if you freeze them right away you can defrost them in 2 months and they are still good as new. I think they don’t use preservatives so you must freeze them right away. Their danish and pastries are very tasty. I love their almond pastry the best. It’s heavenly.
Last but not least, the lady behind the counter is so sweet and friendly. I feel so welcomed in there.
