“Never been disappointed with this place! Authentic Syrian food especially the( Sfiha) Meat pie with pomegranate molasses! It’s just feels like home. Amazing staff! I went there with my newborn to pick up an order and they ask me to stay in the car and they’ll bring the order! Refused to take any tips for that,so thanks again for helping and for the amazing food! Keep the hard working!“
“The most amazing sandwiches at the most amazing price. And you could go for either of those two things. But you can't leave without a butter tart. And the lady ahead of me had ordered a birthday pie. I'm going to need to have one of those for my next birthday“
“I can't believe I haven't rated this place yet! This is our go to bakery, their croissants and pain au chocolat are to die for! You can also find them sometimes in Too Good Too Go when they have overstock. They have lots of gluten free options and are fully vegan which makes eating there so easy. They have some seating. I find it very kid friendly and they even have a toddler time during the week for parents. They also have special events, we did a gingerbread decorating night which was really fun.Vegetarian options: They're a vegan bakeryParking: It's in a strip mall with parking and nearby streets have parking tooKid-friendliness: Kids are welcome and there is a kid friendly toddler time during the weekWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking and accessibility too“
“Nice crust on the scones, but they're moist inside which is perfect. The pumpkin and lemon poppyseed flavours were delicious! Would love to try them with clotted cream and jam. The flavour options for sweet and savory are great and they're constantly being baked throughout the day in store!“
“This is one of my favourite bakeries in Ottawa! Their dessert flavours are always perfectly balanced, the textures are on point and they’re reasonably priced. I highly recommend the mini cheesecakes! The cookies traditional Greek desserts are also delicious! The lunch wraps are also good.“
“We ordered a cake for my dad’s birthday, it was delicious with perfect butter cream icing. The decorations were beautiful. Everyone asked …’Where did you get this marvellous cake?’ This will be our go to from now on! Thank you to Julia and the team at Dessert First.“
“Found this awesome little café in a chill neighborhood. Perfect spot to grab a warm coffee before heading out to the Mud Lake trail for a quick winter hike. It's super easy to stroll over to the trail entrance. The bartender, a cool young lady, hooked us up with some delicious coffee. Oh, and definitely treat yourself to their killer scones – the jam-topped one rocked our taste buds. Seems like scones are their specialty, and they've got other tasty varieties too!“
“Amazing. The staff are nice and caring. Always treat me nice and are always helpfulKid-friendliness: Has everything mini just incase kids make a fuss about how much they want to eatWheelchair accessibility: Has a button to open door and there is no elevation anywhere from the door to the cashier“
“My wife and my favourite food in the world are meat and cheese pies. Everyone needs to try these pies and then add them to their lives as a staple food. There’s nothing like ordering pies and eating them right away in your car. So flavourful, so gooey and cheesy. Get them with spice and lemon juice, Omg! I feel like I’m writing an erotic novel rather than a review but they are that amazing!“
“Very fresh and authentic sweets. Just close your eyes and let them melt in your mouth with a warm cup of tea, you’ll be transported to Aleppo, in the heart of the Middle East ! They will offer the client to sample any sweet. Very nice hard working family. A family business that really deserves to be supported.“
“Super cute bakery serving up gluten free and vegan baked goodies! I tried their cupcakes in the black forest, lemon love, and raspberry puff flavors. I enjoyed the cake’s moist and deep chocolate flavor. I didnt love the frosting because dairy-free buttercream isn’t my cup of tea (I prefer the flavor from dairy butter and eggs in swiss meringue) but I still enjoyed the cupcakes! Definitely recommend stopping if you’re in the area and looking for vegan + gluten free dessert.“
“A local Black-owned business with lots of custard and charm! I’ve never seen make -your-own crumble so this was a really unique experience. I’m very excited to try the croiffle! If I could improve anything it would be to serve the crumble hotter!“
“I already love swinging by LJB when I visit Ottawa for a tasty treat but this was my first experience using their services for a special cake order and I was thoroughly impressed! Super simple and easy process to place the order and my birthday cake exceeded my expectations in both looks and taste! It was a total hit with all those in attendance too! I would definitely recommend LJB to anyone looking to amp their parties with a special cake! :D“
“A great visit as usual. Probably the best bread in town. The seed bread is a personal favourite. Great service and the atmosphere of a bustling bakery. Don't just stop for bread the treats on offer are also great. We usually end up leaving with at least a coconut oatmeal cookie and a chocolate chip brioche muffin.Parking: A few spots right in front of the bakery with on street parking as a backup. A nearby side street also offers plenty of spots“
“This place is amazing! Some work colleagues recommended this shop I was looking for some good coffee and a quick bite to eat, and it most certainly did not disappoint! Next time I'm in Ottawa, I will do what I can to stop by again: simply delightful!PS: My boss is still dreaming about the pastries one week later. :-)“
“amazing gluten free and dairy free options. in a dedicated facility. amazing gorgeous celiac or those whit a glute allergy. reasonably priced and everything I've had tastes amazing! I stop in every time I am in town! love this place and wish it was closer“
“Amazing food, 10/10 experience. The guy working the shawarma station is very patient and explained everything to me in great detail when I wasn’t sure what to order. The beef shawarma is very tasty and flavorful. The garlic potatoes are cooked perfectly and were even better with paired with the garlic sauce. I would 1000% be coming back with family and friends knowing they would enjoy the food and the atmosphere like me.“
“This is not your typical cheese cake and a nice surprise. Light, fluffy, spongy, and bouncy. If you tap it with a fork, it literally bounces. This is just the right amount of sweetness, which is less sweet than the typical cheesecake. They served it warm. I loved it!“
“I have been ordering cakes for my kids bday from Keerthi. It’s been 4 years now. She really bakes the cake with love… omg!!!! We never had the remaining cake at the end of our party!!! My family and guests would love the cake from her!!! I have even recommended her to a lot of my friends. She is the must go person if you want the delicious freshly baked cake specially for you…Her flavours and options are wide to choose from!!!She is open to all customization that we ask for!! Thank you Keerthi for making my kids bday cake so yummy!!!!“
“Found this special spot when we searched online for breakfast places! Wow! So good! Americano was perfect, croissant breakfast sandwich delicious, and my husband really enjoyed his Wild plate! Our next trip to Ottawa we will definitely be coming back here. Great service, delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and fresh bakery treats!!! 5-star all around!“
“One of my absolute favourite Ottawa stores to get treats. You can tell that they use quality ingredients and everything tastes fresh and homemade. Have tried most of their desserts by now and would highly recommend the lemon cheesecake, lemon/milk tarts, blueberry sour cream tart, high jinx cookies, sticky buns and their dream bars. But honestly everything is so good you can’t go wrong!“
“I love that so many of their items are just honest to goodness, old school, like grandma used to make desserts and pastries, with the occasional new/unique treat thrown in to keep things interesting. I highly recommend their chocolate cake and ginger molasses cookies.“
“I went to Quelque Chose this past Saturday. I LOVE macarons and they did not disappoint. The service was friendly and efficient. I let them pick my box of 12 as I wanted to taste them all. The only one that wasn't my favourite was the lavender. It smelled beautiful, but it was a bit strong for my liking. The overall tastes from all the other macarons were delightful, it was a full experience to just smell them and then bite into them as each was a flavour explosion. They have discount broken macarons so I also picked up one of those containers and still even though they were broken, they were incredible. I highly recommend a stop off at Quelque Chose if at the ByWard Market. The Macarons are an experience you won't want to miss.“
“A cute little shop with a great atmosphere, the owners were so friendly and sweet and helped us find everything we needed. The food was also delicious, and much of it is made in house too! Their croissants are the best in Ottawa too, so pick one up if you go!“
“BEST COOKIES IN OTTAWA!! The girls here are so sweet and make the best darn sweets. The tiramisu is also delicious! My boyfriend and I have tried all the cookies, our favs: the original chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, red velvet Oreo and the seasonal pumpkin spice!!“
“We visited later in the afternoon on a weekday and still found a lot of delicious items still to be had including pies (strawberry and blueberry varieties) loaves of bread (regular & sourdough) cookies, tarts, macaroons, macrons, meringues (with a cute sign about not squeezing!) and date squares. There was probably more packed into this little space! This bakery seems to punch above its weight class. Everything we purchased was delicious, and the owner is just an exceptionally friendly gentleman full of gratitude for each of his customers. Glad we found this gem!“
“Always love the scones but had today from the lunch menu a triangle sandwich shaped scone with tuna accompanied by a healthy portion of salad. Yummy, wholesome and healthy for a fair price of $8 with $3 for soup. Good thing they are close to my office for more ?“
“Jamie-Lynn and her team did an amazing job with cupcakes and cookies for my wedding . They needed little to no instructions and stuck to my colour scheme perfectly ! They were always easy to deal with and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for a future event :)“
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I strolled into this deli on a whim and was immediately Pierogi-struck! A legendary owner, Tina is a testament to hard work and Polish pride. Not only is she a master of her craft, but she also embodies politeness, friendliness, and genuine care for her customers. Every dish, from the kielbasa to the bigos, oozes the essence of tradition and is Krakow-ing with flavour. Her recommendations come with the wisdom only a true Polish food connoisseur would have. You can taste the Wawel of love in every bite, and it's clear this deli is Poland ahead thanks to her dedication. Make no mistake for an authentic taste and heartwarming experience – this is the place! Dziękuję!“
“Nat's bread is some of the best bread I have ever tasted. Always fresh and lots of variety. A treat are the hot cross buns. The sourdough and butter milk bread are a regular favourite. Congratulations Nat, we can tell you put a lot of work and care into your business.“
“Visited for the first time today and i will surely be back! The variety is amazing and everything tasted above expectations. The croissants are the best I’ve had since my trip to France and the Kouign-Amann are to-die-for!! The croque monsieur and tomato-Gouda soup were also delicious. I’ll be back to try more items of the menu and get my hands on some frozen dishes. J’ai aussi beaucoup apprécié me faire servir en français :)“
“Very clean and neat(even the little lids, spoon, and condiment section) store.I had a Cherry Lemon Loaf with a medium coffee and it was yummy!Lots of open sitting area as the store is located inside a mini-foodcourt at Bell Centre.Modern layout and sitting arrangement.Great menu selection and food quality.Quick service with a warm-greeting.Definitely coming back here. :)“
“The store is really small but it has all the authentic food. I have tried zataar for the first time. We took one classic zataar and veggie zataar. It was amazing. The flavour is so different and unique. It was a combination of sour plus chilly. Zataar was flavourful. The man in the shop was helpful and it was ready in 2mins. I would 100% recommend this place.Happy Eating ?“
“Ordered a Birthday cake online during the public holiday and got it delivered the next morning by Uber Eat. Good quality cake and they also added extra decorations (compare to the one on website) to it. This cake should be even better if they can reduce sweetness in it.“
“I really enjoyed their almond croissant. It brought back memories of Paris. A big thank you for this beautiful quality of product!Vegetarian options: They had vegan sandwiches and soups.Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs on site.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a stepless door with a door opener.“
“Everything was 10/10! When I walked in I didn’t realize that it was a vegan/ gluten free establishment, OMG it made my day when the friendly female cashier told me!I ordered the old skool roll, Cookie Monster and a large matcha latte with almond milk.My partner bought two chocolate chip cookies and a brownie (should have bought 2 of the brownies, you really can’t share that :D )“
“This is a fantastic place to get delicious fresh food at a great price. It is my favourite lunch spot, perfectly filling. Their zaatar and veggie flatbreads are suitable for vegans as well so there are options for everyone. Really though, the best part of going here is the family that owns the restaurant. They are amazing people and so kind and generous. A delight to talk to. I have also never had food from here I didn’t love. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend stopping by to try their yummy food. Good for a meal or a snack!“
“Coming from Montreal to my office in Ottawa, I made a stop at Accacia to get some baklawa and shortbread for my colleagues. I had never heard of this pastry before and honestly, it was worth the shot! Everything was soooo good that the 1kg baklawa playe was gone in 30 min, the shortbreads as well! The owner was kind enough to give me a sample of knefeh, it was heavenly!!! To the owner, you just gained so many new faces today!! Totally recommend! ??“
“Go here. Everything is great. But there’s a chance they’ve made cream puffs today. It’s only on special occasions, but maybe that’s today? Frankly it’s worth the risk. I cannot stop thinking about the cream puff. I had it last weekend and it haunts me still. Next time I’ll take a picture to remember it all the better. Be still, my cream puff.“
“Top notch product and consistent service! What more could you ask for?I look forward to my weekly visit and the updates to their already niche lineup.Glad to hear they’re local and source local—it’s rare to find quality and transparency like this in this city, let alone organic!Love seeing these guys busy, a great addition to Ottawa’s markets with very loyal fans (clearly!) ????“
“A fantastic mom and pop show with amazing service and food. I regularly come here during my lunch for a quick, delicious and filing bite. They also allow you to add extra toppings to your pies for a small fee. Me recommendation is a meat pie, add hummus, lettuce, tomatoes and hot peppers. To me this beats any shawarma I have tried in the city. They also have shawarmaVegetarian options: Falafel, zaatar, spinach, cheese piesDietary restrictions: They have gluten free dough“
“We live in Toronto area and went to Ottawa to visit our daughter who goes in University there. She was craving for Filipino food and we tried this store. Good quality food and i feel like we are at grandmas house. Very homey taste. Good price as well and combo meal comes with a drink. We’ll definitely visit again. And to the lady who helped us.. veey pleasant..thank you!“
“This place is a well hidden gem in Ottawa. Food is fantastic and baked goods are exceptional. If you want to treat yourself this is the place to go for breakfast/lunch in a very laid back and relaxing atomosphere. Don't be intimidated by the lineups as they move fast.“
“If you are looking for a place that can transform the ambience and take you back to Europe this is the place for you. Sat down to enjoy an amazing, two scoop, gelato ice cream while being mesmerized by looking at the amount of historic photos and awards hanging from the walls. I also got the chance to talk with an elderly woman who regularly visits this place, she saw me smiling and said "You know why we are smiling, it's because we've come to the right place" I strongly recommend this gelatería and I will definitely be back soon.“
“This is my favourite sandwich spot, I have had their golden baguette sandwich which I love and their Bahn mi which I wouldn’t recommend if you’re not a fan of liver since it has a liver pate. I ordered though Uber eats and my only complaint is that the container might be a bit small for the soup since there doesn’t seem to much broth just noodles. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is amazing, not too sweet unlike others I’ve tried. Their pork steam buns are also really good. Overall it’s great, especially for the price and good size portions as well.“
“I ordered a double chocolate cake for a highschool graduation and was completely blown away. I am a dark chocolate fan and this cake quenched my eternal chocolate thirst with a very flavourful cake and rich icing. It was a crowd pleaser, too! I definitely recommend it.“
“Used to order this on Uber eats all the time but now that I moved to centretown, I’ve been able to actually go in a couple of times. The servers are always friendly and nice, and the drinks are made in a timely manner.Good place to sit and do some work as well since they are open pretty late!“
“Came by for a post dinner tea, inside it’s decorated very well, there are pictures all over the wall, some antique artifacts like an old radio near the sugar/cutlery station a mirror featured wall really gives the illusion of a bigger space. They have some seating available, including floor cushions. There is a sign that states limit to one hour when busy which I can understand. We arrived shortly before the post Iftar rush. It got very busy very quickly. Staff seemed to be overwhelmed as they get through all customers. We waited to have our order taken but sat down when they were busy. Eventually we placed our order and waited. Since we only got an adani chai and kunafa, we got our items quickly. The Adana chai was cooked well, it was creamy and flavourful. We got sugar sticks $.75 the concept it great, however, the stick breaks very quickly leaving your drink incredibly sweet so make sure to not leave it in there if you want a somewhat sweet tea.The kunafa was $12 for a piece. This was dissatisfying, it appeared to be re-heated because that was definitely not a fresh kunafa. It was dry and around the edges. We only had a few bites and left it.Overall, They have a large selection of drinks to choose from, and sandwiches. It appears to be incredibly busy during Ramadan but I will definitely come back to have the tea again.Wheelchair accessibility: No barriers in place“
“I went here for the first time today and absolutely loved it! Hidden little gem in Ottawa, away from the business of the Byward market (and for those who need a car to get here, there is free street parking right in front)! I tried three scones and they were delicious. Will definitely be back for more. The owner was very nice too and he even gave my dog a treat : )“
