“Went here for dinner on Friday night and it was fantastic. The food was creative and delicious and the service exceeded expectations. Would highly recommend this place if you’re in Ottawa.

“Came in last night for my girlfriend’s birthday and had an excellent time. The pizza was fantastic. Our drinks were very well made, excellent boulevardier. I’m not usually a a big fan of olives but the olive and salami appetizer was fantastic as well. Love that they source from Luciano’s. Fantastic little spot with a great atmosphere.“

“I heard alot about this place so I decided to give it a try.
The portion is small but tasty. The tiramisu is different...not your typical and not my favorite.
The beer options are mostly hoppy ipa. The garlic bread is 4 bites maybe 6, but it's only 1.50.
It is a nice place to try but for the money ? I don't feel that the dollar goes far at this location, you will most likely leave hungry.
It may look like you have a full bowl of food but the dish is shallow and deceiving.“

“Had a good time trying pizza nerds after hearing a lot about it from friends. We were 3 people and shared 2 pizzas - each of us had 4 slices which was optimal. Arlington - donair was delicious and I highly recommend! Argyle - steak was alright, we changed from the tomato sauce base to white sauce which they were able to accommodate. Their donair and chili garlic dips are a must try! I suggest dining in as it’s best when fresh out of the oven.“

“My husband and I just ate the BEST burger we have ever had!! And we eat a lot of burgers. This burger has ruined all other burgers for me. It was SO delicious!!“

“We went for the traditional up scale linen service and classic Italian American dishes. Little did we know that we'd also stumble upon some of Ottawa's best wings.

From starters to Mains, all of our dishes were on point and reasonably priced.

The service was dedicated and friendly-matching the warm plates with helpful suggestions and welcoming smiles.

“As usual, Hog's Back Restaurant, makes an excellent pizza! I tend to order the 6 ingredients on two pizzas special for takeout, which is what I did last visit. Yummy! Delicious mix of cheeses, sauce and all the other fresh ingredients. This family run business also has a great atmosphere if dining in. Thank you for the many years of service.“

“I visited recently with my extended family for my aunt’s celebration of life. The staff were amazingly considerate to our needs. My son and I have a number of anaphylactic allergies, which we made the staff aware of in advance. The staff were so kind as to point out which items would be safe for my son, and which to steer clear of. I then asked if they might be able to make me a dish that was no longer on their menu, and they obliged. It was just as delicious, if not better than I had remembered! 10/10 service, and 10/10+ food! “We tried this place as a friend who has Celiac recommended it. We had breakfast there and it was pretty standard. I had Eggs Benny. It was pretty slow coming out and my home fries were luke warm. The server took them from the plate to go reheat them which was not really a big deal as I'm not in to wasting food and they tasted much better reheated. We picked up a few gluten-free items to try at home. We had a quiche and a lasagna.I also bought a pizza but haven't tried it yet. My family found the lasagna a tad bit spicy but I like a little bit of spice so I liked it as is. They all liked it though. The quiche was just a classic quiche with a gluten-free crust. Overall, I found the service and food just fine. But in a city where there aren't a ton of places that understand how to cater to people who cannot eat gluten and have to avoid cross contamination, this place is great to have around. I was just visiting town but I would definitely head back for dinner some time. It feels like a classic family kind of a restaurant.“

“One of the best pizzas I’ve had in our neighbourhood.

The guy at the counter was pleasant to chat with and recommended the right pizza for us. We were in the mood to have a spicy pizza and the tandoori chicken pizza was a perfect match.

I wish I had taken a picture but the pizza was put together very nicely. The base was crunchy and pizza was surprisingly fresh, well-balanced and delicious even though we had it after a short gap.

I generally choose to build my own pizza, but this restaurant has many interesting combinations to choose from. I will be sure to try more options in the future.“

The service is very friendly, and they were accomodating for us to send one of their employees outside to our car to give us the pizza!! And the food is delicious!!
