“This is my third time coming to Ottawa and somehow, I had missed this gem of a place but thankfully discovered it this time around. If you are looking for a true grilled chicken experience (which also is halal), Pili is the place to go! The seasoning is just so balanced, the chicken so tender and flavourful, and the skin charred to perfection.I tried two variations of heat - mild and spicy. You can’t go wrong with either so better to opt for some variety. Even the leftover bits the next day are still so fresh and flavourful.The staff is super friendly and I was greeted every single time with robust hospitality. “It was my boyfriend and my first time at Fatboys and we were not disappointed. The food options were amazing and everything we tried was delicious. We started with chicken wings and deep fried pickles as our appetizers and the Kentucky Derby Platter for our main and we would definitely recommend both. To top it all off the service was excellent and the owner personally came and checked on us! Will be back forsure!“
“FINALLY had a chance to try Lola’s Kitchen today. We are a family of 4 with the youngest being a picky eater. We had Chicken Adobo, Chicken Sisig, BBQ Beef Ribs and Beef Tapa. We LOVED every dish, extremely tasty. So tasty, we finished our plates (incl. the picky one… he said “Mmmmm”), and unfortunately didn’t leave enough room for dessert, but we will definitely be back. “Recently popped in for lunch. It’s sort of hidden in an office park off Carling, but it is totally worth checking out. From the great menu selection we ordered the Pit Master (brisket) Sammy, crispy Brussels and pan fried corn bread. Oh my stars! AMAZING! “The BBQ is good, although the portions are a bit small (200g per serving). The side dishes comes with some refills, and are fantastic.Fried rice portions were also sadly, very small for the price, considering how cheap rice is in bulk. However, they do taste great.“
“Fast and friendly service. Huge selection of menu items. I had the smoked dry Cajun wings and ribs combo. Fries were good. The Cajun spices weren't on the wings but came on the side for some reason. Wings had bbq sauce on them too. Nice and moist and good flavour. Ribs were pretty good too but could have used a bit more sauce or some heat. Very small restaurant and a lot of people got food to go. Overall it was pretty good. I'd go back again.“

“The service was amazing! Our server even offered to take a photo for us. The food came out very fast. The brussels sprouts were great, definitely recommend them! The jack fruit burger reminds me of a pulled pork sandwich it had great flavour profile and the portions are perfect. The menu isn’t very big, but I was surprised to see a couple vegetarian options. The atmosphere is very nice. We were sat in the back room which allowed for the noise to be broken up a little bit and gave a sense of privacy. “I've been a regular to this specific Poulet Rouge for quite a while now and the bowls genuinely never disappoint! You get to choose the sauce, chicken flavor & toppings to go with your bowl which makes it incredibly customizable. The people working there are always really kind and I always enjoy going there once a week when I can (usually on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons)!The bowl itself is very flavorful and the generous portions are well worth the money. They also stuck around and did our late night snack from the truck. “Had the 重庆豌杂面 ("Chongqing minced pork with peas" noodles). Quite delicious. Nice very slightly spicy broth with tahini+peanut making it nice and creamy. Chickpeas were nice and soft, and the minced pork had a nice slightly sweet bean paste taste (at least I think that's what the taste was). The cilantro was a nice touch. It could've been spicier but was delicious as is in any case.“

“Flavours were fantastic and the service was warm and inviting (contrary to some reviews we read prior to going)and the only draw back was the place looks like it could use a little tlc. My family took me there for my birthday dinner (2A 2C under 6) and we walked in to a bouquet of mouthwatering smells and the courteous and friendly staff directed us to choose what ever table we wanted. The restaurant to be honest, looked like it needed a polish and the floor could use a good mopping. That was the ONLY negative to our experience there. After talking to the mgr who walked me through the menu and gave lots of great information and suggestions we placed our order. He was even kind enought to wish me a happy birthday and brought me a juice as a little something! Please understand that time relaxing and talking while waiting for the food is part of the African restaurant experience so don't be expecting toget it on your table in 5 min. If you want that go to McD's! When the food came (2 combo platters) it was beautifully plated (I wish I thought to take pics!) and with a bowl of delicious jolof rice. FYI Ghanian jolof is different in the flavour and "sauciness" and this Nigerian jolof was fantastic of its own right being light, fluffy, and with a beautiful smoky note. The chicken and goat were amazing! Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavour I only wish we had ordered more! The beef was a little overcooked comparitively. I will say that there is a bit of heat to the dish (a tiny little bit too much for the kids even though they didn't stop eating! hahaha) The take out and delivery that was coming and going throughout our meal was nonstop which just goes to tell you how good the food is. Overall if you decide to check this place out you won't be dissapointed. The food, service, and friendliness of staff are amazing! We'll be back!“

“Nice location. Very easy to find. Amazing service. The price seems rather high, but considering its an all you can eat (2 hours max) with mostly meat menu I think its rather good. Make sure to order in bulk each time the server comes, at least 4-6 orders, the portions are rather small. I was able to try almost everything on the menu in my first time. Its a nice change of pace to cook your own food at the table; it gives you time to chat with your date while letting your food cook.My only issue about this place is that they do not accept reservation unless you are a group of 6 or more. If you want you can put yourself on a waitlist using the Yelp app, but still need to wait when you arrive. I figure they do not want to lose money when some folks reserves and dont show up.In total for two, it cost us 115$ including tax/tip and no beverage.“
