Falafel Scoop & Shawarma Reviews
The food here is great, and I really appreciate the vegetarian options! The staff there are always friendly and quick with the food. However, the parking there can be inaccessible.
I can’t tell you the last time I had such a good, authentic falafel and shawarma. It’s the closest to how it’s made back home! We went with a big group and the patrons were so kind. We’ll definitely stop here every time we’re back in ottawa!!
Best falafel I've ever had. Saj bread is so good. Highly recommend. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you! A treasure.

Falafel Scoop & Shawarma is a popular Middle Eastern and Levantine restaurant known for its delicious falafel and shawarma. The falafels are usually great, though they can occasionally be slightly undercooked. The falafel sandwich in a Saj wrap is a standout menu item, with a generous portion size and fresh, tasty ingredients. The small, old-looking storefront belies the restaurant's cleanliness and the owners' passion for their craft. Vegetarians will find plenty of great options here. Customers praise the restaurant for its authentic Mediterranean flavors, especially the shawarma and Shish Tawouk, which is marinated all day long on skewers. The French fries covered in Mediterranean spices are also very popular. Portions are considered to be amazing value, often large enough to serve multiple people. The quiet, cozy atmosphere and respectful staff make for a pleasant dining experience. The chef's attention to quality and tradition is evident, and diners often leave satisfied with their flavorful meals. Recent reviews highlight that the food is impeccably juicy and delicious, but some customers noted that their platters did not come with sauce or salad, and they received pita bread instead of Saj bread despite paying for it. The Shawarma Saj Sandwich and Shawarma Classic are praised for their very generous portions, which can easily feed three people, and their impressive presentation. Although the restaurant appears unassuming, it has a strong local following, as shown by the steady flow of customers. Customers also mention that staff need to pay closer attention to orders, as they sometimes forget to include requested items like hot sauce. Overall, Falafel Scoop & Shawarma remains a favorite for flavorful, authentic meals in a cozy, welcoming setting.
