“We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.“

“Beef short ribs were delicious. Creme brûlée was excessively sweet for my tastes. Downstairs restaurant has a lovely vibe, but private room upstairs was not very aesthetically pleasing, non-accessible for those with mobility issues and overly hot. Would not recommend that space. Service was excellent but very slow overall for a big group. I'd return but to the restaurant not the private event space.“

“Delicious food with interesting and well-balanced spice mix. Portions are ample, but not excessive, and price-to-food ratio feels fair. The service was outstanding, in the sense that the staff were friendly in a genuine manner. I did take-out, so I can not speak to the quality of dine-in service. The ambiance is fine, the restaurant has the vibe of a place where you would expect a group of Middle-Eastern seniors to hang out and have tea all day, that sort of coziness. Nothing flashy, but completely fine. We’ll be back for sure.“

“AMAZING WEDDING CATERING! We are just back from our honeymoon in Nassau, and as we organize our new lives as Mr and Mrs, we can't stop talking about what the Royals Restaurant did at our wedding. That evening, the chatter was surely talking about the food. And guests are still talking about it. The meals were outstanding. The Pesto Chicken with Roasted Red Peppers & Goat Cheese, the Roasted Sirloin with Yorkshire Pudding, the hors d'oeuvres, just to recap a few.... were thoroughly enjoyed. With Chef Derrick carving the beef, he definitely finished off the buffet line in style. Plates were full, and then enjoyed by each guest. The flavours were simply succulent. But it was not just about the food. Melissa and Lindsay were at the venue far before the guests arrived. The place settings were precisely arranged ensuring that everything was lined up. The stemware and cutlery were perfect. Their management of the setup was amazing. The staff supported all the guests so professionally. A big thank you to Melanie, for operating the bar with class. To all the staff in the background, our sincere thank you as well. From the first minute that the catering trailer showed up, to the last minute when Melissa & Lindsay left at 1:00am... we were thrilled that the Royals Restaurant were a part of our wedding day. “Absolutely amazing experience. Everything tasted great and the great service matched the food. Chef Blackie made us feel like royalty but he had the same candour with every other table so I guess it's just his way. We did the tasting menu. Can't wait to try the regular menu. “I had the pleasure of celebrating a milestone birthday at Le St. Laurent (LSL). And it must go without saying- The experience was nothing short of memorable and definitely one for the books!

Shannon (Manager), Ryan (Chef) and the LSL team went above and beyond to help assist in the success of my night. Prior to the date of the event Shannon and I worked closely together going over some of the details of the night - such as creating a charcuterie and appetizers along with some specialty non-alcoholic beverages. All of which was to be served as a prequel to the actual main course of the night. Shannon’s attentiveness and time poured into helping me create an experience not only ensured that everything ran smoothly but that my guests had a great time. And that they did.

On the day of I got to meet the chef and a few of the team, all of whom were extremely friendly and welcoming. The LSL staff were sure to adhere to any questions or concerns that may have arisen throughout the night which and I can’t express how appreciative I am of that given we were a group of 20 people!

The food was amazing and the plating was definitely worth all the pictures. Oh and let’s not forget to mention the view 🌃🌆!

“Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life and I’m not kidding. The chef Arup Jana made an off-menu item for us because it was so good I’d contacted him about it (roasted carrot and brie soup, created for a charity event I attended last month). We had soup at the restaurant and also bought several more servings as takeout to bring home. We also tried about seven of their tapas plates and every single one was incredible. Please go to this restaurant.“

“I love it here… amazing spot. It felt like we got a dinner invite to an artsy grandma’s crib. Seriously perfect atmosphere. No fearful ‘big light,’ just cozy yellows all around. We decided on the shared Daily Feast: three elevated Irish dishes which were sufficient enough to *perfectly* stuff my hungry date and me. To nitpick, the meat and mash course could’ve been warmer; however, the place was packed… I’ll let it slide happily! Everything was either delicious, good, or not-my-thing (shortbread dessert… my enemy). The service was chill and decently paced, even through the chaos of customers / a full house. “I’ve been coming here for 10+ years, and it’s one of those places that never disappoints.

The food is consistently great, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with just the right touch of elegance without feeling overdone. It’s the kind of place you can truly settle into and enjoy your evening.

What stands out just as much is the service. The staff are attentive, and genuinely kind, which makes all the difference. A special mention to Chris, who is hands down one of the best servers and bartenders I’ve ever come across. He has such a natural charm and a warm presence that really elevates the whole experience.

“Visited Montana's 13th November 2022 with a group of 7 other people. The atmosphere was good, enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and conversation, followed by our server taking our meal order. She was very efficient and ensured all our needs were met. The order took longer than expected to arrive, and when it did, the food was just warm. We explained to the server who was apologetic, the food was heated to our satisfaction, and enjoyed by all. We were visited by the Manager In order to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, following the issue we had experienced. She very kindly told us she was giving us a reduction on the total price as a sign of goodwill, and also provided free dessert for the group. I would say that was an excellent show of hospitality on the part of Montana's, and we will definitely be arranging future visits.“

“We went for Capital city bites on a week night. The menu was a set course but a lot of the dishes were off the regular menu. Everything was outstanding. I never imagined cabbage could taste this good. I know they are a wine bar but their cocktails were fantastic as well. Everything we ate was delicious, the scallops, cretons, beef tartare, cabbage, bread and butter, the mushroom pasta and the beef short rib. Would 100% recommend. Service was amazing, our server was attentive, had great knowledge of the dishes, very pleasant to chat with. Its the perfect date night or celebration spot.“

Gyneya is a one of a kind human being who cares deeply about having only the best experiences for couples and guests. From the very beginning, we knew we needed Lago to be part of our story. I was obsessed with their food - everyone told me it was amazing there, but wow, it is so good! I may have had a slightly unhealthy obsession with their lemon meringue tart dessert and they snuck me one in before the ceremony for a boost! They also made the kids specialty drinks so they could have a treat. And the bartender also sent over a custom cocktail that they suggested based on other drinks I was choosing. It was my favourite cocktail ever! They truly care about making it the perfect personalized experience. What also spoke to us is the fact that our other vendors raved about Lago. They’re known in the industry as best in the business. You NEED to have your wedding here.“

They serve poutine in some of their breakfast meals, and their dark gravy was very delicious and unique.There are tons of options for milkshake, and the shake portion was huge and served directly in the shake machine cup. Blackberry shake was fine; a bit too sweet and fruit flavor not outstanding. Interior was lovely, clean and no frills and just I want to experience when going to a diner.“

“I've been coming here for 8 years. We come for burgers, chicken fingers, nachos and delicious spinach dip but my favourite are the breaded chicken wings. Update: Now obsessed with the steak stacker! Wing night is still Thursday (half price). If you're gluten free there is not much to choose from on the menu. Matt and Tony are fantastic servers. Every time we need a place to meet friends or family we always come here.“
