“We LOVED IT. Stopped in yesterday… the wind was whipping, wicked, brutal… and when we couldn’t shake the chill, we wandered in. HEAT! It was warm! Welcoming! The soup which was potatoes leek was absolutely delicious. The warmed bread was exactly the right temperature, hot, buttery and right out of the oven. Our Guinness was delicious. Our waitress was perfect. I really love this place .“

“Sir John A’s is a regular haunt of ours whenever we are in Ottawa. They have BROAD selection of domestic and international draught beer options available. The food menu is extensive, whether you are looking for snack items/appetizers or main courses. We are especially fond of the Nachos. The kitchen stays open as late as 12:30am (usually, not guaranteed), and the staff is very attentive and accommodating.“

“The Nostalgica Burger was tasty. The beef patty had a nice charred texture that paired well with the roasted bell peppers. However, it could use a bit more salt and pepper in the patty. The sweet potato fries were delicious and could be enjoyed as a snack on their own. Overall, I had a great experience.“

“Good size portion for price. I went here for dinner because almost nothing is open on campus during summer. Glad I did tho because for $9.50 I got a large plate of chicken masala with basmati rice which I only ate half of, and I was served almost immediately, so it is very convenient if you're in a hurry. Some tables were taken when I was there at 5pm, but several were available. Tables were clean and staff were friendly and courteous. Will be back.“

“I like taking my daughter to the Barley Mow (stittsville is our go to but almonte is a favorite drive)... We went tonight. Dinner for 2 plus 2 non alcoholic drinks (I was driving us) came to $44 taxes in. We go there all the time so I gave a nice tip. The owner/manager and staff are amazing. And the new menu *(after covid limited menu) is really fantastic. We are trying something new every time. Tonight I tried chicken tacos and she had a huge bowl of poutine. Both were amazing. Deffo recommended! (Unfortunately I couldn't get a pic of the dishes, my phone was near dead and I needed it to pay as I forgot my purse but they then charged my phone for me!!)“

“I’ve been working in restaurants for awhile and was thrown off on the dynamic of this place on my visit. I’ll start by saying the vibes here are great and they have a great beer selection, over 20 beers on tap.
We drank at a table in the bigger room and had one drink before looking to move to the bar. Our server was very intense on making us pay our $12 tabs before moving. We then said we would get our next drink at the bar. She brought over another round of drinks before we even finished half our first ones and bills at the same time. Don’t know how badly she needed the tip but better to not rush people new drinks just for them to get warm.
Bartender with the mullet was chill though, he had some good beer recs.“

Hundreds of different styles of board games and game consoles to choose from. Enjoy laughing stories and games with up to four people. “As far as university pubs go, Ollie’s is a fantastic place to be. They have certain deals every day of the week, and the staff are always super friendly.As far as prices go, everything is more on the pricy side, especially as a university pub. They have a wide selection of beer, varying from on tap, cans, and bottles.The pub also has a specialty cocktail of the month (I’m yet to try any) but they all sound delicious. Will definitely be heading back.“

“The restaurant does not have the Open Table app for their servers, so when we arrived, they did not have our reservation for our group of 6. They made arrangements however. It's best to call them to reserve, and not use Open Table. Service was impacted a bit because the restaurant was very busy and our group added to the server's workload. It took a long time to be offered additional drinks or get our bill. A warning that the sweet potato fries are super salty.“
