“My wife and I come to The Royal Oak, Centrepointe, regularly and have always enjoyed the food and service. It's one of our go-to places. In November 2023, we hosted a birthday party for myself, with about 30 guests. We had an excellent experience! We ordered party platters to serve the guests and the food was great. “I used to go here a lot when I was younger and enjoyed the vibe. I started coming back and it's clear it's not as busy as it used to be, not sure why that is but I was pleased to learn they have great deals on food now, with every day of the week something different. I was recommended the Yorkie bites by the bartender the last time I visited and yum! Perfect amount of food for me. We've been here for wings in the past and those are always a good choice. It's great they feature local beer, 1000 islands. Friendly and welcome service. We will be back!“
“We ate at Hunter’ last Friday. As usual the food is excellent, every one in our party loved it. I ordered ratatouille. Great dissatisfaction, and I was disappointed. I was not served ratatouille…. But a kind of baked casserole , which was hot and tasty but nothing like ratatouille. Ratatouille is a dish from Provence. It is a vegetable stew consisting of onions, tomatoes, aubergine, courgette and peppers. Lots of basil and herbs to give it the aroma of Southern France. No leftovers of smashed potatoes which filled up the bowl that I was served. Go to France to taste it but keep on going to Hunter’s for poutine and please serve all your smashed potatoes. Don’t keep them for ratatouille.“

“I can't comment much on the pub itself as we didn't actually sit down to eat or anything but spent a couple of hours playing the pinball machines, which was fun. Some of the machines are really old, which is great nostalgia wise and amusing, but we're frustrating to play. But good selection of older and newer stuff, and a few really neat ones with 2-3 levels (like a pinball within the pinball, hard to explain) and some with a digital component.I also really enjoyed the music and atmosphere. It's good music and not too loud, you can actually have a conversation! We plan on going back.“

“We have been going to Danby's for years as we live in the area. We went there for dinner last night and received a very hearty welcome from Julia upon arrival ?! We were seated at a table of our choice; Layne was our server and he was fantastic. We started with an appetizer of pork belly burnt ends which was delicious. We then moved on to the classic Debbie burger which is never a disappointment. I could only eat half of the burger and took the other half home. Just warmed it up in the microwave and it was AMAZING... Reviews are enormously subjective. We believe that Danby's delivers excellent quality food at a reasonable price. “This is the best pub and patio in Ottawa, bar none (no pun intended). it is the quintessential neighbourhood pub. The staff is generally friendly and courteous. If I have a quibble, it is that their menu is very limited. After a few visits, not much choice left. We are promised a new menu. but so far nothing. A shame.“

“Great place!! Went for the first time this weekend. Wasn’t sure how it would be as the outside is fairly plan. It’s smaller inside but very welcoming. I had a lot of fun on the open mic night. How can u sample very many of the beers without a flight?! “Ended up at Mort's by random choice of after-work pub with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised. If there was a 4.5-star option, that's what I would give it.A friend and I randomly chose to try out Mort's on a Tuesday. We had their 2-for-1 large pizzas with 4 beers. It came out to $40 each, so I'm not sure it was the best deal, but the pizzas were surprisingly good. Was it the best I've ever had? No. But much better than any other bar pizza I've had, hands down.The bartender / server was friendly and since the place only holds a couple dozen people the service was quick. It seems like a good business to support .. it's nice to see places like this that aren't just another chain or trying to be like every other Milestones, Barley Mow, etc.Would go back !Parking: Small parking lot beside Mort's, large parking lot at the next driveway leading behind the pub.“
