We were looking for a casual place after a day of site seeing in the area that wasn’t too expensive. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance but was a little surprised the music wasn’t Irish. The food was good. We tried the poutine and was surprised that it was better than we expected!
A group of us were in town for a 'Men's Retreat Getaway' and we thoroughly enjoyed Ottawa. While exploring the Byward Market, we took a look at the 'Irish Village', where a bunch of the Irish Pubs are all combined under one roof. Most of the places were closed at this time of day, but the Heart and Crown was open and inviting. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some local beers. Nice beer and warm welcome last night. We came back the next day from very far just because we had a nice time on the eve and we were asked to pay an entrance fee the next day. Weird… I don’t think it’s worth, especially when all bars around have free entrance
