“First time visitor on March 23, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was happily booked up when I tried to make a reservation, so I was only able to secure a table at 5:15pm. I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. The team here works like a well-oiled machine. No one seemed frantic or rushed. It was a lovely evening. I (we) will definitely be back. Santé!”

We had the Coxinha (Brazilian Chicken Bites) - pronounced Koh-Sheen-Yah, the Pão de queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread), the Bossa Nova Smoothie (açaí, banana, and almond milk), and the "Authentic" Brazilian coffee (one americano and one cappuccino). When I visit my daughter in Gatineau, it's not so easy. I find pizza here to be bland and mostly low quality ingredients at premium prices.This little place however, is different. The pizza is reasonably priced and quite better than any I've found so far in the area. “Their new policy of paying before you sit to eat is in effect. That said, every time they hand you the debit machine, it asks how much you want to tip. Very aggravating when you're handed it after every drink you order throughout your meal. If you want a tip, provide excellent service. Don't expect a tip BEFORE any service has been provided. Personally, I tip based on the level of service I receive throughout my visit: am I greeted politely; am I made to feel valued; does my server introduce themselves so getting their attention (if they don't notice me looking around for them), is easier...None of these things happened, so I tipped accordingly AFTER the experience.”

I have had some very bad experiences at this McDonald’s; but not today! The staff here have this place clean, organized and made me feel welcome. A nice change from the get in and get out service you see today. The manager on staff severed us with a smile, something you don’t see much of these days but desperately need to see come back. “We were at The British for a birthday party and stayed the night in one of the hotel rooms. The staff were very kind and friendly, and the food at the party was very good! The poutine bar was definitely a highlight! The hotel room was very nice, and modern and the bed was very comfortable!”
