We finally went, and did the set menu with the Beef Wellington. And honestly, the food before the star of the show was great, but the beef Wellington was awful. The meat was overcooked, like grey overcooked, and the crust was soggy from the sauce it came with, and just did not taste right. There were 4 of us, and all 4 meats were overdone... Though we did have mixed feelings about the crust. I do not recommend the Wellington. Certainly not best in the city as advertised.

Amazing food and top quality service, perfect for a special night out or celebration.
Had the Table d'Hote (set menu) and every bite was divine, recommend the chocolate mousse dessert.

I had high hopes for this restaurant and was excited to try it for my birthday, but unfortunately, the experience left us very disappointed.
The food was the biggest letdown. The butternut squash soup tasted overwhelmingly like curry, with strong flavors of cardamom and cumin that completely overpowered the dish. The steak was dry on the outside and seemed like it had been pre-cooked, plated, and then reheated in the oven before being served—it lacked any freshness or flavor. The worst part was the beef stroganoff. The egg noodles were undercooked, and the dish was overwhelmed by an off-putting combination of dill and lemon juice that didn’t work at all.
To top it off, when we paid, they handed me a paper bag with a few small, bland cookies as a birthday gesture. It felt thoughtless and quite underwhelming—surely a more meaningful or refined touch could have been offered. Or nothing at all would have been just fine.
On the positive side, the service was good and friendly, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the disappointing food.

Very overrated (as are most places around that area). The service is very good but, the actual food was bad.
I think their chef has gone spice crazy as everything was extremely over seasoned. I started with a squash soup, but all I could taste from it was cardamom..... The main was beef stroganoff, but that was covered in lime juice. My wife had the stake, and I guess the only cooking option it come in extremely well done, it was almost beef junky.... the scallop we order we fine I guess..., the service was very good though the staff were excellent

It’s great for evening but lunch was a disappointment . Too expensive almost same menu as the evening one . Had steak frites very salty. They listed a hamburger but it not available for lunch.
Anyway I recommend it for dinner

Dinner at Absinthe was delicious! We ordered the butternut squash soup, steak frites, salmon and crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was exquisite. The staff were very accommodating and provided excellent service.

We got the Beef Wellington 4 course meal for 2 people. I called a day in advance to request that our meal is made without prosciutto, which they kindly agreed to. The chef added scallops to our seafood platter to make up for the lack of prosciutto, which we greatly appreciated. The food was good overall; so was the wine recommendation by our server. They cooked everything to perfection. The atmosphere is very mature and moderately quiet even when busy.
The restaurant itself could use a refresh to the paint and decor. It definitely needs a bathroom renovation. There was only a single bathroom for everyone and it was surprisingly bad for such an expensive restaurant.
Will return to try the steak frites!
