Loved the experience of dining at this place. Seemed family owned and they were really sweet and made sure everyone is taken care. Place is small and seating is somewhat cramped but we were here for food and it was yummy and plenty. Liked the selve serve counter for condiments. Ambience and decor looks typical mexican and so were the plates and tables lol. Parking is paid but plenty in adjacent city parking lot (on Dalhousie). We'll be back again when around. Cheers.

If youre looking for real Mexican flavor, look somewhere else. Food is average, and does not feel authentic, is like when flavors don’t blend in together, you feel ingredients each individually, this are Mexican dishes with Americanized flavor. They really sell you on the place and I’m guessing most reviews are lots of locals that are happy with vegan options, who knows. Not even the salsas felt real. They were watery, runny but not to the point that they wete bad, is just that you’re expecting flavor explosion but all you get is disappointment. :(

The decoration adds a lot to the ambiance. It is specific to the Hispanic culture, especially Mexican. Frida Kahlo is the highlight here. Her portraits are present. There is some wisdom in the crowd so I went with the popular choice. The food is great. I had the Plato Ahora Pollo & Cinco de mayo. Usually in a drink, I see a lot of ice as a filler. It was not the case. There is an extra mini bar to choose for sauce & additional little sides.

Thank god Ahora exists in Ottawa. The place is great. The food is tasty and fresh and very affordable. The vibe is kind of student funky meets O-towne sophistication. Paintings of Freda on the wall. I love Mexican food and I love Ahora.
