Quite possibly the best dining experience I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is warm with a welcoming staff. The creativity and attention to detail with each dish is unmatched. Each dish was also explained thoroughly. The flavors were incredible and the plating and presentation were works of art. The drinks too were incredible (we tried a few of their fermented juices).Very lucky to have dined on their last day of service and thank you for making our anniversary dinner so special.

Outstanding vegetarian diner experience. Best of Alice dishes were phenomenal. Balance in every bite, packed with umami. Like a well rehearsed choreography, everything ran smoothly, thanks to the amazing staff. Looking forward to the new chapter!

We had been waiting to go to this restaurant for years as I am a strict vegetarian/vegan. To note, the menu is vegan...right up until they use a lot of honey and bee products (odd). The food was excellent and creative and Asian-leaning. We particularly loved the tempeh and mole taco and the Maitake mushroom in smoky kelp broth. However, the portions were small and nothing in the 8-course tasting menu (2 of which were desserts) stood out as a main. I left a bit hungry. The two desserts were too similar (both frozen/ice creams). We had the fermented juice pairing which was super interesting but not worth $135. The ambiance is stark and uninspired - think minimalist old Ottawa house. Service was excellent but occasionally difficult to hear/understand food descriptions. For value, I know this is the #31 top-rated restaurant in Canada, but for two diners, if you both have wine/juice pairing, with tax and tip you are near $900. A $100 gift certificate I had been given during COVID was not honoured (I was given a receipt but the actual GC could not be found). I understand the restaurant's perspective but this was disappointing from a customer service perspective. Would absolutely go back for the food but not at this price.

This was the “Best of Alice menu” priced at $194 per person. I also got the wine pairing at $135/person. The food was good - but it wasn't mind blowing and to top it of the portions were tiny. It's a tasting menu so ideally you eat many small portions - this was just 8 tiny portions which left me still very much hungry by the end. Many of the items tasted very similar to each other or had a similar concept. The value wasn't there - you are clearly paying for prestige as well as unique fermentation dishes but at this price point I expect more. I've dined at Michelins around the world as well as other high end restos and this experience fell very much short of my expectations. The wine pairing was absolutely atrocious. The pours were downright insulting - less than an ounce of wine per pour. The dessert wine was delicious - the rest tasted like something I could make from a wine kit in my basement. The history and uniqueness of the wines was interesting - but our entire party of 3 hated all of the wines served. The juice pairing was excellent - I regretted not getting that as one person in my party got it and loved it! Still not work $135 as again there was less than an ounce poured and I don't know how JUICE can be the same price as wine. This experience has totally deterred me from trying their new resto when it opens. Some cool concepts and good tasting food but not mind blowing combined with small portions and the worst wine pairing as well as the stingiest pours I've ever experienced - won't be recommending it to my friends!

Everything from the food to the service was impeccable. Every course was more delicious than the last, and the wine pairing offered some excellent accompaniments. I do feel like the cost was a little high and would have enjoyed one more course for the money we spent.

Probably the best vegetarian experience I’ve ever had in my 30 years of life.8 rounds of deliciousness and creativity.Took the wife here for her birthday, she loved every second of it too.It won’t be cheap, but it’s definitely worth it.

An unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere was quiet and intimate and the service was impeccable. The flavours and textures of the plates were out of this world - every dish was so unique and carefully crafted. Beautiful presentation. We opted for the wine pairings to go with the eight course meal and this absolutely enhanced the experience. I am very glad I had the opportunity to experience this meal at Alice before it closes this year and hope to visit Chef Kim's next project, Antheia.

Exceptional restaurant - must visit in Ottawa for its mastery of tastes, textures, and unusual ingredients.

This was absolutely elevated and amazing vegan food. The chef is amazingly talented and I cannot believe she is self taught. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect, and I will never forget this meal.

We were greeted and made comfortable as soon as we arrived. The service was outstanding. While the servers detailed wine and beer, the chefs presented and explained the food courses. An outstanding experience to be had by anyone who enjoys food made with passion and excellence. Thank you Alice!

My wife and I went to Alice for dinner as part of our holiday celebration. We both had the 8 course tasting menu and the fermented beverage pairing. Despite not having any meat (I'm a huge meat eater), this was single handed the best meal I've had in Ottawa and comparable to some Michelin star restaurants I've dined in Europe. Every dish was unique in its own way and they were all excellent. My favorite was the "barley congee with truffles", it was so flavorful and the texture worked so well in combination. The service was top notch and very professional. I would not hesitate to take future guests to the restaurant.Vegetarian options: The food is 100% vegetarian.

A beautifully curated experience with delicate, brilliantly composed dishes. Excellent flavours and plating that will leave you wanting more. Service-wise, we were very grateful to have our guest with certain food allergies accommodated - and we were contacted well in advance to handle this obstacle. Best of luck to the brains behind this place in the future with their new restaurant, not that they will need it. An incredible talent that we were fortunate enough to experience!

Words can’t describe the experience. Food was insanely tasty and the service was on point. 8 courses and 900$ later, I’d go back anytime !!I recommend pairing the wine with the food, it enhances the experience and you get to taste specialty wines:)My fav stays the edible candle, it was the highlight of my night ?Just be careful, it’s a plantbased restaurant, but they do use honey so not vegan. We asked the chef and she was able to make dessert without honey for us ! I recommend you go before it closes in January, to open again with a new concept (which I’m excited to try)Dietary restrictions: Plantbased but uses honey so not all vegan, you have to specify it

I was incredibly lucky to visit Alice with my friend and had the most unforgettable and special dining experience here. The staff are all amazing; friendly, knowledgeable about the pieces they bring you, and attentive. The service, the chefs, everyone was wonderful. The food, the presentation and the collection of flavours in every dish were phenomenal. Every part of this meal felt like it was made with the utmost precision and affection. As a vegetarian, it was a delight to experience such a unique way of dining without worrying what was in the meal. Every dish was spectacular, though the butter candle was unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. My pictures do NOT do these dishes justice.I’m so glad we were able to be part of this experience, and I cannot wait to see how the team change things up with Antheia this spring!Vegetarian options: Everything was veggie-friendly!

Food presentation was very good but the flavours and textures were just OK. The wine parings were well thought out but were very bad quality and volume/quality of the wines and Juice do not justify the High price
