One of my favourite steakhouses in Ottawa. Have been going for years. Service was great even though it was super busy, our server checked in on us often. Got the ribeye steak with the loaded baked potato. The bone marrow herb butter is a must for your steak. Super flavourful, and elevates the steak. Steak was a bit underdone, but had a nice sear on it. The bread was good, starter salad was a big portion.

I love this place ! I’m usually not a big fan of fine dining given my previous experiences of bland and small portionned food but Al’s steakhouse is a gem. The coconut curry soup was delightful , so was the calamari and steak! Waitress was a little stoic but very attentive to our needs , will definitely be returning

Absolutely the best steak house that I have ever been too. Service was top notch and atmosphere was amazing. It’s worth the drive to Ottawa Also I didn’t have a reservation and they didn’t bat an eye to accommodate myself and my girlfriend. Girls weekend was made with this pit stop. I bought the salad dressing and will have to take the 7 hour drive again soon. An absolute MUST

I got the lobster and substituted the rice for mash and it was mid. I just felt like it was missing something.
The restaurant itself was pretty loud and we had a table in the middle of the room and it was a bit tight and we felt like we had to talk louder than we wanted to. It was almost like being out at a bar with music playing.
We parked in the back and had seen a server standing in the doorway, which isn't clearly marked, and we asked someone loud enough if that was the right door and as we started walking towards the door the server closed it. When entering through the back you will walk past the kitchen and what not to enter the restaurant.

The experience was wonderful. We got the New York strip and the lamb chops, the food was seasoned very well. A lovely restaurant to celebrate a special occasion or a date night.

It's an okay restaurant. We were seated near the door, so it was very cold and the food got cold very quickly. It looked fancy, but the techno music did't really fit the vibe, it was pretty loud. When we did get seated, it took a while before anyone stopped at the table to take drink/food order. We ordered the Butcher Block, it's nothing to rave about and because of the door situation the food was cold after the first bite. We also got cold and had to put our coats back on. Between ordering the food and the food arriving at the table it was very fast. The meat only had a good sear on one side the other side was gray and boiled. The coffee wasn't very strong (tasted like water) and the chocolate cake was very very dry and felt like sand in the mouth, but the waitress did take it off the bill after mentioning it. The staff was kind, but we did feel invisible when first seated. The waitress was nice and did stop at out table a few times to check up on us. I will definetly try it again, it could be great.
