Indulged in the most delightful ice cream at Amore Gelato, and I owe Umer a huge thanks for the recommendation! The flavors were heavenly, and the quality of the ice cream was top-notch. A must-visit for ice cream lovers!

When we miss Italy gelato, we come here for one. A little pricy but tasty.

When you explore downtown Ottawa, Amore Gelato is a very good place to have dome nice ice cream. The service I'd fast and the girl does a great job of treating all the customers well.I had a two-flavour cone with mango and wild cherry. The wild cherry taste was not the best but mango was great.

I recently visited Amore Gelato and it was delightful! The ice cream flavors were great and the staff were very friendly. I liked that there was so many lactose intolerant choices you can pick and heard it was good too. I can’t wait to go back again. I totally recommend?

Amore Gelato is located in the same store as The Crazy Moose of Ottawa. This gelato place is on the left when you first walk into the store. After learning that the latter only accepted cash, I checked out Amore Gelato. There was a bit of a lineup, so I knew that it was a good sign. There was a mom in front of me with her kids. We had a nice chat after she specifically said to her kids that they'd get exactly one scoop of ice cream. "We can't have them go on a sugar high and crash," I said, smiling. "Exactly. I'm getting two scoops, though" she said, laughing. This joint offers options for everyone. You can get a variety of gelato flavours that are made fresh every day. Gelato has dairy in it. If you're like me and want a dairy-free option, sorbetto is a nice alternative. I had overheard the conversation between the woman behind the counter and a couple about to pay for their treats: "Is it cash only?" the woman asked. "No, that's the Crazy Moose. We accept all cards and cash," the female staffer said. One word: yes! This same female staffer helped me out with my order. I got the following sorbetto flavours in a cup: - Guava - Lychee I paid with a credit card. I also tipped, thankful that I could use plastic to pay. I thanked her and left with my frozen dessert. There were a handful of little tables with chairs inside the store, but they were all taken. Instead, I went out in the hot weather and found outdoor seating. Luckily, there is a rather large tree that provided a lot of shade. There was also a breeze, so I wasn't sweating buckets. I loved my sorbetto. The guava and lychee were reminiscent of having Vitasoy as a kid. I loved these flavours. They were captured perfectly in the sorbetto, which wasn't all that sweet. The sorbetto scoops were refreshing and enjoyable to consume on a hot July afternoon. There were pigeons that looked like they were innocently befriending me. They were actually waiting for me to make a klutzy move. If I had dropped my sorbetto, they'd feast. They never got any of mine. I finished all of it. So good! It was nice to people-watch as I had my sorbetto. If you have the time to stop and enjoy things in ByWard Market, come here for a scoop of yumminess and savour it. It's a great place. I'd return in a heartbeat. (310)

Decided to give this place a try after seeing the positive reviews. Got Guava and Straccitella. My thoughts? Both were overwhelmingly sweet which masked the rest of the flavor and failed to bring out the strengths of the ingredients. Small portions for the price. In my opinion Amore Gelato does not offer anything special or substantial compared to other gelato places in town. I wonder if it was an one off experience? May stop by again to give another try if I'm in the area and there's no other ice cream/gelato place open, otherwise I don't really see a reason to return.

Gelato here is excellent!! The closest thing to Italy. I’ve tried many places only to be let down!! I highly recommend as a I feel I am a gelato connoisseur !! I will definitely be visiting daily for the remainder of my vacation!!

The eight sorbets on the left end of the display are all vegan. There are standard flavours like strawberry, lemon, raspberry, and watermelon, as well as flavours that rotate, such as lychee and apricot. (Make sure the flavour you're ordering is labelled "sorbetto".) In my opinion, they are better than the vegan sorbets at the other gelato shops in the market. The first time I went there, the nice man behind the counter, who I think was the owner, boasted that all his sorbets are water-based and that he has many vegan customers.

I only have one problem with this place… every time I walk past with my two year old he’s going “ICE CREAM ICE CREAM” (of course they sell gelato but good luck getting him to pronounce that ?). There’s a lovely woman who usually works weekdays around 2:30 who is always so kind and patient with my son. The portions are very generous and the gelato is very smooth and yummy!! We recommend the pomegranate and raspberry!

Store puts up stuffed ice cream cones to entice people. Children go inside and touch the decoration. Attendant gets mad and yells at the kids.

The shop was welcoming and cozy. Options were fruitful and delightful. And most importantly, Mohamed was an absolute gem, excellent service.
