I wanted to give this new little spot more stars, I want to see them succeed. I think they were caught off guard by how busy it was when I was there.
I'm celiac, and the menu online indicates that there are options that should work. When I arrived, the menu in person did not match. Also having seen the state of the kitchen, I wouldn't have felt safe ordering gf food.
I got a lavender latte that was very tasty. But it took a couple tries to get the order right (overwhelm of how busy it was).
I'm willing to give it another shot. I hope they find their legs!

Went for brunch. Food was yummy and there’s more space than you think. Make sure to check out the other room - there are a lot of fascinating items on display! A great addition to the neighbourhood :)

A hidden gem in the heart of Vanier. What appears to be a small café upon entering, opens up to a large event space and seating area in the back—serving as a hub for frequent community socials, intimate live performances, and hobbyist get-togethers. This space is, of course, open to customers during all opening hours if one wants to grab a quick coffee or item off their breakfast/lunch menus.

Paintings and sculptures from local artists scale the walls like a mini-museum, furniture and decorations so carefully handpicked to enrich the space with a mellow, nostalgic atmosphere.

Anina’s Café is a passion project clearly filled with love, and a sense of home & community at its core.

Had such a nice experience at Anina's Cafe. Breakfast was excellent (loved the pancakes) and loved the chill vibe. Will definitely go back when I'm in town!

Really disappointed by this location.

$150 for 4 people for breakfast. The food was not very flavorful, it took a long time to arrive, and there weren't many tables occupied. The latte wasn't great; we ordered the apple pie latte and it tasted regular, but not great. The poutine was ok, and the pancakes too, from what my friend said, but they were very standard. My burger wasn't great. I thought the quality, price, and wait time ratio for this place was extremely overrated.

I do not recommend this place

I was in the area looking for some coffee and came across this place by chance. It was a pleasant surprise to find there was a live jazz presentation. I checked their instagram page and they do all sort of activities. Will 100% come back.
Coffee was good too.

Beautiful atmosphere in the back. The food is ok as well. The reason for 2 stars is because more than 4 times now I’ve tried to come in and even though it says on google here that they’re open, the doors are locked! Too many tries now so I’m not likely to come by again.

A gem hiding in Vanier!!

Excellent food -> have the Eggs Benedict (the Hollandaise sauce was to die for!) and western sandwich (such excellent comfort food!).

The espresso was devine and latte was pristine!

The main room has so many interesting displays. And they do live music and comedy...

If only I had a set of table ware like they have!
