Wok Hey ! Chinese Food

It is very rare to find true Chinese food outside of Chinatown, but I have at Wok Hey! The food is authentic (no artificially sweetened+coloured bright-red chicken balls here), delicious*, and the service is so pleasant (sincere kindness and patience with a smile and dash of good humor).
(*My father is very particular about how he likes his hot-and-sour soup ... and he is sooo happy to have finally found one he loves, at Wok Hey :-).)

It is really sad that comments with very low ratings about the previous owner's food are still holding down the general rating for the current store. My experience has been nothing but positive at the current Wok Hey and I hope that people who want to eat real Chinese food will give this place a try!

This place is very accommodating to allergy requests. I haven't had Chinese food for years and decided to order here because of how accommodating they were. Food was great. I would order from here again

My dad is very picky about his food quality, and we've tried all the good Chinese places around town, all mediocre. Tried this place out after seeing some promising reviews and he's finally said this is the best Chinese food he's had in Ottawa. Similar to his favourite Chinese food back home in Australia. 10/10 recommend for the closest to non-Canadian Chinese food in Ottawa.

This is the first time that I have ordered food from this restaurant.
Generous size orders,
Excellent food,
But the black bean pepper steak had small bones in it which my wife and I have never seen in any restaurant,
And unfortunately my wife chipped a tooth which left me very disappointed with the lazy chef who couldn't cut the small bones out of his meat.
Because of this I don't know if I could ever eat in this restaurant again.

The food is so delicious and fresh
I recently enjoyed a delightful meal consisting of two main dishes: stir-fried water spinach and steamed chicken with a savory topping.
Both dishes complemented each other well, offering a balanced meal that was both nutritious and flavorful. Paired with a refreshing drink, it made for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.

I was craving a late night snack and ordered a #1 combo plate just before close (about 25 mins prior to closing time).

The food was so good! The portion was ever-so generous!

The egg roll was so crunchy and crispy! Yummy!

No complaints whatsoever.
So happy to have a good Chinese place in the neighbourhood.
