Killer Shrimp Roll šÆ
We sat down and ate the first time we visited, very classy and upscale space in Ottawa that also happens to have halal options for sushi.
Chicken is fully halal.
Weāve ordered takeout out 3 times just for the Killer Shrimp Rolls. So worth it!

Overpriced for what you get. A small bowl of rice is $3.50 and is not included in you meal. Won't go there again

The issue here is that Iām not sure who this restaurant is for. The inside would lead you to believe it is not that fancy of a place, then you see the prices of the food. This leads you to think that maybe itās really good or high quality food, this turns out not to be the case. Maybe itās made up for by having large helpings? Nope pretty small, especially the sushi. Bottom line, youāre much better off at an actual Asian/Sushi place for higher quality food at lower prices with a better atmosphere.

Only about 12 ppl were at my table for a birthday dinner. Server āJenniferā was very rude and not welcoming at all. They also only had 4 shot glasses for the whole restaurant š , while eating we saw a bug on the floor. I donāt even want to know what the washrooms look like. We were ready to pay server took almost 30 mins trying to sort 8 bills š¤£. 0/10 if I could, I would never recommend!

Ordered a large sushi boat for a friend's birthday and the sushi, presentation and service was excellent!
We ordered the Pad Thai and the Bambu Roll. The Pad Thai was far from authentic lacking in peanuts, with an artificial tamarind flavor, and served with a few large, soggy pieces of chicken that had a spongy texture.
The real concern was the Bambu Roll. Although itās a cooked roll, the salmon tasted spoiled and had a foul odor. We only had a couple of pieces before deciding to stop eating, but unfortunately, it was too late we ended up with food poisoning later that night.
The restaurant was mostly empty, yet the service was still inattentive. Given the decor, we were expecting much more, but the experience was disappointing and ultimately unsafe.
About thirty of us ranging in age from two to 97 years recently met at Bambu to celebrate a friendās 80th birthday. A twelve course tasting menu was designed for us some weeks in advance by the owner Jeremy, taking into consideration vegetarians, individuals with gluten sensitivity, meat and seafood lovers.
On the day of the party, we discovered that a friend was now vegan, another wanted no onions in her meals and a young guest was allergic to peanuts. Staff at Bambu handled this promptly and without any fuss or complaint. A special mention to our main server Jennifer.
The menu consisted of 3 appetizers, 3 sushi rolls and 6 mains including fried rice, Pad Thai, chicken and seafood curries. Portions were generous and the food was tasty. Dessert and coffee ended a very satisfying meal.
Thank you Jeremy and Jennifer for a superb evening at Bambu.
When the sushi is fresh, its super good.š
I have had the sushi taste a little old from time to time.
Food is delicious, very good sushi and a good amount of menu choices.

Husband and i had a Pad Thai and a Tofu dish. Very flavourful but we both felt they skimped on the protein. Lots of noodles in my pad thai but the chicken and pork were threadlike and there was little of either. Very disappointing. My son had a sushi roll which seems to be their strength. It seemed very fresh and he really enjoyed it. The server was very nice and attentive. We were seated at 7pm and around 8:30 pm when just a few tables remained, someone started sweeping up with one of those dustpans with a long handle. It made a loud, jarring banging sound. Really annoying. This lasted for about 10 minutes. Overall it was a tasty meal but I don't expect to go back.
Ordered take-out online from Bambu Restaurant for the first time today, on the occasion of Motherās Day. Having spent many years in Asia, my family and I are really picky about Japanese, Thai, and Chinese food. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and excellent taste of every dish we ordered. I also appreciated the convenient location at Hunt Club and Riverside for those of us living south of the city, and the speedy and friendly service.
The food is delicious, the service is fine but itās one of the dirtiest restaurants I have ever been in!!! Ranging from the sticky tables, food on the floor to the bathrooms that seem to have never been cleaned properly. I donāt want to imagine the kitchen.
Iāve come here several times with groups of people with a lot of varying dietary needs: gluten free, vegan, veg, allergies and they always do a great job accommodating everyone. Vegan options are great.
My favourite sushi place in Ottawa. Great menu selection so everyone can find something they like, and the shushi is superb! Definitely recommend the Salt Pepper Prawns, Crispy Beef and the Riverside Roll.
