A famous street‑food landmark in ByWard Market, and it still lives up to its reputation. I’ve visited many times over the years and stopped by again today to try a different flavour. Fresh, warm, and perfect for wandering through the market. BeaverTails has become one of those classic Ottawa treats you enjoy on the go—whether you’re exploring the Rideau Canal, passing through Winterlude at Confederation Park, or just spending time in the ByWard area. They also offer hot drinks, which pair perfectly with a BeaverTail on a cold day. A nostalgic stop that never disappoints.

Update: Thank you for the kind response. BeaverTails has been part of my ByWard Market visits for many years, and it’s always a comfort to return for a warm treat. I’m glad to have discovered a new flavour this time, and the hot drink pairing really did make the cold day feel easier. I appreciate the hospitality and look forward to stopping by again soon.

James kicks butt at the Confederation Beavertail kiosk...give that guy a raise! He was pleasant, quick with a smile, and a laugh. I haven't had a beavertail in years and mine was amazing! It was a perfect snack after admiring the ice sculptures.

There is not much to say that hasn't been said about BeaverTails. This shack is one of the original spots when the business founded in Ottawa. We had a cinnamon lemon flavor, Killaloe Sunrise, which I was not expecting to like. The contrast of the freshly squeezed lemon on top of the sweet cinnamon dusting was wonderful. A great, warm treat to survive the cold outside.

They used to put a lot more sugar on it, and it would taste like it should. Now they barely put any and it’s just bad flavor dough. I hope they go back to what it was like before — the beavertails we all remember having as a kid.

The beavertails did not disappoint at the ByWard Market Square. They make them fresh, so mine was warm and delicious. If you are from the USA, it's much like an elephant ear, only shaped like...you guessed it, a beaver tail! Yum! Go get one. I just had the plain cinnamon and sugar, and it was plenty sugary and good.

Beavertails are always a go-to in the wintertime. I tried a new flavour today, the Skor Cheesecake, and it will absolutely be my new favourite. So delicious!

The service was speedy and the staff very friendly!

I’ll have to stop buying beavertails. This is the second time I receive one that has been overcooked and disappointing. I’m not sure if it’s a lack of training on the staff, but they need to do better
