You have to specify you want the pastry vegan, otherwise they put butter on it, even if you select one marked vegan on the menu. They had several tasty options for toppings but I prefer the classic/plain.

We enjoyed the beavertails while in Ottawa. I had maple syrup while my partner had Bananarama ( nutella and banana). Very tasty and the staff were friendly.

You have to come back and have one at least once a year, it's just how it has to be. They're super tasty and the flaky chewy base is the best thing ever, need to learn how to make it at home. Pictured is my brownie one (eating it on a picnic table near the store), it had nutella, brownie pieces and white chocolate. It was a really chilly night and eating the cold chocolate chips was a delight honestly, fun texture change. Would really recommend this place! Only thing is their hot chocolates are tiny lol

I love beaver tails! They have so much classic flavors. They have a detailed well run operation going and service is so quick and ready. The portions are perfect. Such a classic Canadian winter treat. I love that they have locations that you can skate up to on the canal as well.
