Lovely dinner at Beckta. Our server Julia was exceptional. The food was delicious with a few notables: pink panther cocktail, the biscuits, the duck with a deep rich sauce, the crispy Cajun cauliflower. And oh, the chocolate eclair with sesame seeds embedded in a chocolate tuile. The private room was perfect, especially if you have hearing problems in restaurants.

Four course meal was served in 3 hours. Exceptionally slow service. Wasted time. When I requested them to pack my cheesecake dessert, they give me a box. When I went home, it was cheese and crackers. Not a cheesecake.

This is fine dining, so be prepared to pay accordingly. The food was amazing, and even though the menu was small, there was something for everyone. I believe we overheard it said that the chef goes to local farms to procure direct, which I love. Service was amazing from the moment we entered. We were seated on the second floor, but there's bathrooms on both floors, so it was nice not having to worry about the stairs. If you're looking for a place for a special day, I highly recommend this place!

Fine dining at its best in Ottawa. We went there once to try the 5-course set menu paired with wine for each dish. At first they sat us in the dining room close to the entrance and it was too formal and bright. We asked if we could sit in a different room and they kindly moved us to a room in the back that was a lot cozier/nicer. The server took her time to explain each dish with the paired wine and why they go well together, which was appreciated. The bread & butter that came with the table was phenomenal. Every dish was unique and full of flavors and overall we had a wonderful experience there. It is on the pricier side but we would definitely go back there for a special occasion.

Had dinner here for my birthday. I have no words. Excellent service. Food was amazing. Wife had mentioned a food item she had had while there for a work meal in the reservation request. We had totally forgotten about it by the time we went. The waiter brought it up during ordering and said it was available even though it was not on the menu... If you can try the short ribs, do so.

My hubby and I visited Beckta recently for Valentines Dinner. From start to finish the whole experience was fabulous. Every staff member we encountered was lovely and helpful. Every course of our meal was absolutely delicious. (I see why they have so many awards) If the kitchen was busy or they were overwhelmed, it certainly didnt show because the restaurant was quiet and service was quick. We will definitely be back. It quickly became one of the best meals we've had in Ottawa.
