Year after year, consistently superior, delicious, and somehow both refined and relaxed, while impeccably disciplined behind the scenes to create artistry in flavor, ingredients, and execution. Each time I am in Ottawa I visit, often midweek for breakfast. This past week I visited for Saturday brunch for the first time with friends following a special Ottawa gala, and Scott and his team delivered curated, satisfying plates that simply cannot be forgotten.
I recently returned to Benny's Bistrot for lunch after their reopening in 2023, following a 3-year closure during the pandemic. I'm happy to say the experience was well worth the wait. The lunch was absolutely delicious, and you can truly taste the care and attention put into every dish. Although the lunch offers only five options, each one is thoughtfully prepared and consistently well executed. The limited selection actually makes the meal feel more curated and intentional....
Came here for brunch and got the potato gratin with hollandaise. The dish was very well prepared and the presentation was fantastic. The flavors were excellent. Service was a bit on the slow side. Atmosphere was great in that it felt like an art gallery, but it was quite loud due to the acoustics. Overall a very nice brunch spot.
