It doesn’t matter when I go, the food is consistently on point, as well as the service. You can’t beat their desserts including 2 amazing GF options. I am a huge fan of the short ribs (when in season and GF if I remember correctly). No debate that I am their #1 Coconut Cream Pie fan. No one has disagreed with me yet.

This place is absolutely perfect! This review is for for anyone with celiac disease and a high sensitivity to gluten, the food in general is great, for people with no allergies but I always feel completely safe dining here. My go-to whenever I am in ottawa. The staff are knowledgeable, careful, and very accommodating, which gives me real peace of mind. The food tastes like a homemade meal and is perfect every time, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, the portion sizes...
The Black Dog menu is wonderful… oh my those ribs! Consistent and excellent service. Nice decor and patio. A real gem in Manotick.
