Very nice establishment with high standards. I stopped by for a quick bite after work and my server Rebecca and the chef was very accommodating to my dietary needs. The steak I got was succulent and juicy. I hope to visit again.

We decided to try Brassica after going on the Vittoria Trattoria website to make a reservation and Brassica was being advertised. Since we've been to Vittoria many times and after reading all the 5 star reviews about Brassica I figured it would be nice to try something new. Should have stuck with the sure thing which never dissapoints. To start, it took at least 10 min for a server to approach our table. Going in we knew the portions were small and our 3 teens love to eat so we ordered 4 appetizers. They were enjoyable especially the scallops and pork which we reordered. I'm sorry but $30 for 4 scallops and a small slice of pork fat is outragious!! I asked for bread since the apps were tiny little bites and was told they don't usually bring bread out to the table, which led me to believe they have it but it's not free, so when I asked to order some and pay for it the server told me they don't have bread, it's not something they do. So their mushrooms on toast is not on bread?? So she offerd us popcorn!??! Between the five of us we orderd 4 out of the 6 main dishes on the menu. The steak frites was the best. The braised beef was ok and so was the chicken but the mushrooms although tasty were too salty. The kids really enjoyed the Banoffee pie. The removal of cuttlery and clean sideplates between every app we ordered, I think was a bit excessive especially since the new ones were placed directly on the wooden table and we didn't have any when we received our mains. The sever was attentive by checking on us and filling our water glasses frequently.

Beyond impressed!!! Recently moved into this neighbourhood and heard great things. Tucked in at the bar, privileged observer as Sophia briefs new staff person Nadia. The care and attention to detail are phenomenal. Here solo and enjoyed fantastic conversations with Jason about wines, local cuisine...here is the custom cocktail he re-imagined! Chef's choice (Andrew) for dins - fantastically delish. Well done everyone. A magnicent dining experience.

We went for an eye exam across the street, and afterward my daughter was starving, so I randomly picked this restaurant — and it turned out to be amazing! Every dish was incredibly delicious, and you could really feel how attentive and passionate the staff were. Definitely saving this place — I’ll be coming back often!

The service was good aside from the server asking at the beginning of every dish, with impeccable timing, what I thought of the food JUST as I took a bite of it. I understand the attempt to check on customers and know you don't want to engage longer than necessary (trust me, I don't either!), but this was annoying to say the least as I had no way to respond while chewing. I left a standard tip, but it would improve things for the future if the restaurant could address this please.
The food was quite good. I had the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo (entrée) and the Steak & Fries (main). The tuna was delicious, complex in flavour, and had a lovely artistic presentation. However, the steak & fries was a bit disappointing - I asked for medium rare, and the meat was quite chewy, especially on the end pieces (the steak came pre-sliced; see photos).
The atmosphere was top notch. When I went for dinner, the French windows were open, allowing a beautiful breeze through. The lighting was just dimmed enough to create ambiance, but certainly bright enough to see the details of the food and the restaurant well.
Overall, it was a balanced experience, but there are also other restaurants to explore in Ottawa.

Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life and I’m not kidding. The chef Arup Jana made an off-menu item for us because it was so good I’d contacted him about it (roasted carrot and brie soup, created for a charity event I attended last month). We had soup at the restaurant and also bought several more servings as takeout to bring home. We also tried about seven of their tapas plates and every single one was incredible. Please go to this restaurant.
