Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life and I’m not kidding. The chef Arup Jana made an off-menu item for us because it was so good I’d contacted him about it (roasted carrot and brie soup, created for a charity event I attended last month). We had soup at the restaurant and also bought several more servings as takeout to bring home. We also tried about seven of their tapas plates and every single one was incredible. Please go to this restaurant.
Celebrated a birthday with 9 lovely ladies. Food was fabulous! Our server was amazing and attentive. Highly recommended!

Brassica has a limited menu, but it's varied and well chosen. The lamb shank special offered the evening we attended was excellent. Service was first rate as well. Highly recommended.

Everything was perfect . Service , atmosphere, the food ! Perfect spot for a date night with a menu that’s not overwhelming or complicated . Loved the blend of flavors that I was not expecting but totally loved

I absolutely loved the food and atmosphere here! We tried their Wednesday special menu, and every dish was fantastic. The Brussels sprouts were a standout for me-paired with tofu and a perfect kick of flavour. We also had the Mushroom on Toast and Tuna Tartare, both of which were just as delicious (though I was too excited to take pictures!). Prices were decent. Highly recommend this spot for a great meal!

I had high expectations for Brassica, but unfortunately, my experience was anything but enjoyable. I ordered their three-course meal, with the steak and frites as my main dish, and ended up feeling extremely unwell later that day. I wasn’t the only one—two others in my group who also had the same dish experienced similar symptoms. Given that we all felt sick after the meal, I strongly suspect it was the food.
For a restaurant of this caliber, food safety should be a top priority, and this experience has completely put me off from returning. I can’t recommend this place after what happened. Proceed with caution.

Thank you for the experience Brassica. I think it's a nice place to eat, a small menu and very carefully thought through. The risotto balls I don't remember exactly how the named them are good, not excellent but good.
For me it was a difficult night to pick something and I was not super happy with my choice. I didn't want to go with chicken because I eat chicken all the time, I selected the soft shell crab. It wasn't so great. The ravioli was delicious and everything else was great.
My friend took the vegetarian lasagna. It looked ok. I guess I'm so used to cooking vegetarian food after so many years that I am often very disappointed in restaurants by the lack of taste and choice of ingredients or choice of sauce. He liked it ok, enough to finish it.
Will we come back? Probably not.
Vegetarian options: There was a vegetarian lasagna and another main vegetarian a salmon is you are pescatarian

Went there with a couple of friends. The food was good. We had pork belly, surf and turf and salmon with shrimp. And then ordered a chocolate parfait in the end.
The service was kind of funny 🤔 We never got the bread and butter that all the other table got. Then we got some other table’s order. And even when our own stuff arrived, the waiters didn’t know who ordered what.

The meal was absolutely fantastic!
We started with the croquettes and seared scallops. I loved the texture of the croquettes but the scallops were my favorite app - very tender and the depth of flavors on the plate with the pickled raisins, almonds, and cauliflower/cheese puree worked extremely well.
I had the beef short rib, which was cooked perfectly to a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, and went nicely with the hash brown and other flavours. My partner really enjoyed the chicken and we both loved the banoffee pie.
I'd gladly have the exact same thing here but there are so many things that looked good on the menu that we'll have to come back and try them all!

Food was delicious, the portions aren’t very large though. Overall was a good experience.

Definitely a new favorite in Ottawa. The yellowfin tuna crudo was an outstanding starter (we also had the arancini and the fried cauliflower salad). The Crispy Skin Salmon, Beef Shortrib and the Scallops & Pork Belly were excellent mains. And the Banoffee Pie was to die for. Over and over again!

Wednesday night tapas at Brassica is always fantastic. Last night , we had the lamb poutine, fried cauliflower, chicken slider, ricotta gnocchi, pork belly, scallops and of course the Banoffee pie! My friend made a special trip from Vankleek Hill just to have Arup"s tapas.

Phenomenal. The food is unmatched. It is difficult to explain, but somehow Chef Jana’s food manages to be what you didn’t know you wanted while also being exactly what you were longing to taste. We try other restaurants and they’re fine and all—some are even quite good—but we always ask ourselves, “But is it Brassica-good?” and have to agree that it never is. So now we don’t bother with other restaurants and return again and again to this gem.
We live some distance away, so don’t get in very often, yet the staff remember us and always welcome us warmly. We could not recommend Brassica more.

Brassica is a restaurant I've been dying to go back to ever since I first went there for a meal with my fiancée. Incredibly food, stunning atmosphere and a friendly staff, this place is a must on Richmond, I would highly recommend the tartare, but with a seasonal menu it may not be there year-round!
