We love the Bridgehead experience overall.
The exceptional coffee is what brought us here and the friendly staff kept us coming back. They always remember us and greet us warmly.

However, we have found one change since the ownership change… the pastries have suffered substantially.

They are not fresh. On a recent visit we ordered a chocolate chip cookie. It was so hard I could not bite or break it.

The gracious staff replaced it with a ginger cookie but it was just as hard.

Again they replaced it, this time with a banana muffin. Despite having it heated, it definitely tasted stale and I give it a 6/10 for flavour.

The carrot cakes have been a victim of shrinkflation as they are about 2/3 the size and are more expensive.

We drive about 20 minutes to get to the closest location and we’re beginning to wonder if it’s worth it.

We would like to hear from the owners after they read this review. What steps are you going to take to improve these deficiencies to keep us coming back?

Just a quick recap, the coffee is tasty and the staff are wonderful but the pastries freshness standards as well as the taste of the pastries needs work.

Vanilla Latte was very good! Ordered wraps with egg and bacon that was very good! Could have an option with egg + bacon + cheese to make it more creamy.

Good coffee and sweet treats. The baristas were as warm as their coffees worth a stop by for your caffeinated fuel

Disgusting!!!! As a would be customer walks to the counter, one could expect the first thing an employee shouldn't do is suck the snot back up your nose and pinch your nostrils like your taking care of that nasal drip you have going on. Interestingly enough you had a dumbfounded look on your face as I walked out to cross the street for a Starbucks instead.
Do you always snot up your fingers before touching something that will go into another person's mouth?

Bridgehead offers ethical coffee and cozy vibes, but service and drink quality can be inconsistent, and it’s often crowded and pricey.

Easily my go to for great coffee in Ottawa.

An Americano from here always hits the spot.

Located in The Glebe on Bank St. Early in the morning tends to be quiet and an ideal time to get in there.

Also, there are always a few veg options for a lunch.

I had a disappointing experience at this café. They never called out my order, so it sat on the counter while I waited. When I politely asked if it was mine, the barista looked me up and down in a really condescending way. The attitude was unnecessary and unprofessional. Definitely not coming back.
