Their red velvet cake is sooooo good!! I dont even like red velvet but the quality of ingredients is so apparent in their cakes and patries; I am super impressed.

I've tried many coffee shops around town looking for the best coffee and croissant, and Byward Cafe is my favourite. Not only is the quality good (including their other products: salads, sandwiches, cakes), the service is exceptional, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the place is bright and sunny, with so many windows. The family who owns it works very hard, and are always friendly. I never want to go anywhere else when given the choice!

We were visiting the market and we were hungry so we decided to enter this beautiful cafe. There are many options to choose from eating since a crossaint to a nooddle pasta… so we ask for a nooddle pasta. Environment was cozy and the man of the cafe was super nice and attentive.

Saturday mornings, warm croissant, hot coffee and a good book. That's market life right there. This place makes the most amazing pastries and baked goods.
Very friendly place at the heart of the Byward Market. Good spot to grab a coffee or a breakfast sandwich. Staff is always nice and friendly.

Love everything about this cafe. Their coffee, sweets, and food are all great. My favourite thing is that the owners respected freedom of choice. Highly recommend!

Terrible customer service, if you’re going to put your food on skip, don’t be mad when someone orders food. Owner is 10/10

Busy Christmas crowd, packed out the door for shuffling room and outdoor eating. Multiple staff that were helpful and ready to go, but clearly limited by the cashier sharing drink-station tasks. However, for $0.85 for a 2” tall slice of sugar pie, I would recommend everyone go there… just maybe not all at once. Beats the pants off other prices in the area.
