Sadly not vegan friendly - paid $40 for a gluten free pizza with no cheese. Friendly staff though that tried to accommodate.

We always enjoy visiting the Canal Ritz. You can't beat the view. However, the pasta was pre-cooked, so it arrived overcooked. Al dente would have made all the difference in this dish. It was still flavourful though.
Also, beware as the parking lot has some very huge holes in it that could cause a serious trip and fall.

Disappointed. Broke. Hungry.
That how I felt after having dinner at Canal Ritz. For 25$ you have a ridiculous small pizza that you eat in the dark on a plastic table.
Advise: if you like the idea of the Canal atmosphere, take out a pizza from a proper pizza place, bring your camping chairs and eat it near the canal. You will feel less scammed.

Had dinner here on a Tuesday and it was reasonably busy. Parking was conveniently close. The food was excellent, very nice server, lovely view and overall a great spot.

Visited this place yesterday evening and I had the Mediterranean pizza while my husband had the prosciutto & bocaccio. Unfortunately I felt like I was having a frozen pizza, the crust was horrible and even with the ingredients of the pizza they just didn’t taste right. It didn’t look anything like what I saw online either. My daughters had two different pasta plates and those were delicious according to them. The atmosphere was fantastic though, I would definitely go back for drinks/coffee.

This restaurant used to be enjoyable, good food, clean, attentive staff. It is now outdated, cleanliness is suspect, washrooms should be avoided (right beside food storage room), menu is unchanged over 20 years which would be OK but the food quality, preparation and presentation is well below par. Most staff are pleasant but not overly attentive, long waits for service while staff sit looking at their phones. This restaurant has never been known for serving a good glass of wine, small portions, poor temperatures. Too bad it could be up scale due to the view of the canal. It might as well be a burger and fries place now.

We enjoyed our time here but that was mainly due to the excellent waitstaff and views only. The food was nothing special, and the bathrooms were dingy, had stale hot air and were covered in cobwebs. The menu needs some work and the prices are way high for the portion sizes. It’s obvious they can just charge what they want due to the awesome location but honestly it’s just not worth it.

Beautiful place, but horrible food.
The pizza crust was too thick and undercooked.
The chicken Parmesan was rubbery as if it was microwaved.
The grilled chicken breast was horrible, it tasted bitter, as if the grill was scrubbed but not wiped. All three of us tasted it and it was awful.
We sent back the pizza and chicken breast.

I had a pizza and without any exaggeration, it was the worst pizza I have ever eaten. The price was ridiculous and the atmosphere was nonexistent.
The location however is beautiful.

Everything was great. Wine a bit overpriced, but still ok. Our server lady was very attentive and friendly. The was really good and prices made sense. But the best part was being almost on the water with the great view from our table.

The worst hamburger I've ever had. Thin tasteless patty, mostly filler. Frozen no doubt. The french fries were under cooked and soggy. The menu says hand cut fries, I suspect they were frozen also. My friends pasta was over cooked and mushy. The food is consistently bad. The owner should be ashamed! To bad, because it is a lovely location and the staff are super. The NCC should cancel their lease and find a decent restaurateur to operate the space!!

I will never return to this restaurant! The arrogance of the management and staff to impose their own gratuity, and 17% at that, on every bill in our group just turned me right off! The tipping system I know is outside consumer protection laws but it's understood that a restaurant can automatically add a gratuity if it's a group bill. But we were ordering individually for our booze plus any extras. Our group prepaid for 3 course dinner that included a gratuity for the servers. Booze plus other is individual so we decide individually what gratuity, if any, should be added. Worse, the staff came to use with our bills for booze + other before we got our coffee/tea included in the prepaid dinner. Staff were polite but that's it. We waited between 20 to 30 minutes to get coffee/tea, some left rather than keep waiting. I am so turned off, I never want to return.
