Food was amazing! I’m Pakistani, though I’ve never had Sri Lankan food, had no idea what to expect. The food was so flavourful and it feels like you’re eating a home cooked meal. Pricing is fair for this premium level of food (not necessarily cheap, but it’s very high quality food).
Only complaints: food wasn’t spicy enough I thought (but this is a non issue, will just ask for more chili next time) and the server who served us was kind of talking too fast 😭.
Would still rate this place 5 stars overall though! Come with your friends and loved ones!

We had a fantastic dinner here. We asked one of the owners to suggest plates to share between 5 of us and his selection was excellent. Best tandoori chicken we've ever had. Definitely going back there soon

The coconut sambol had incredible flavour. Slow but friendly service, seemed understaffed at the time.

Definitely recommend!!
Ceylonta might just be my favorite restaurant in Ottawa for a special night out.
Every item I've tried from both the food and drink menu has been phenomenal. Incredible flavors and great kind service, seeing the staff is like seeing friends.
The food is mostly on the hotter side so if you prefer mild food it might not be the place for you, but I love it. The coconut sambal might be the most interesting and delicious flavors I've ever tried, it's heaven (appetizer) and the cocktails are beautifully crafted.
The staff are hardworking and kind people.

Excellent parottas and fresh sambol. Ranjan also sent over some nice coconut milk gravies and a simple yet flavorful cauliflower mash. I'm definitely going to be back to try more of their fare!

Absolutely amazing and authentic Sri Lankan food! I’ve been visiting their two locations since 2008, and the quality has always been consistent — flavorful, comforting, and true to its roots.
During my recent visits, Anjana was especially wonderful — so courteous, customer-oriented, and genuinely kind. Mr. Ranjan, whom I’ve known since 2008, continues to be as friendly, welcoming, and accommodating as ever. He always makes sure the dishes are prepared exactly to your preferred spice level, which is such a thoughtful touch.
What truly stood out this time was how understanding they were about our pet, Rose. They kindly accommodated her during our last two visits, which meant so much to us — it’s not easy to find such kindness and flexibility these days.
Every time I’m in Ottawa, this will remain a must-visit spot for me. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic Sri Lankan flavors and genuinely caring service!

Amazing spot. Really nice people working there and the food is some of the best I've ever had. I've eaten at a lot of places in Ottawa and this is easily in the top 3 of all time for me.
I would recommend going with a group and getting lots of different plates to share. This place is really good for food allergies and restrictions as well.
I don't ever write reviews but this place is just too good.

An absolute gem of a Sri Lankan restaurant right near the heart of Ottawa!
The staff are warm and welcoming. The food is bursting with authentic flavors. It’s no surprise that several politicians, including current premier Mark Carney, have stopped by.
The highlights are a must-try: vadai, mango lassi (the vegan coconut milk option is to try), the kottu, and the rotti with sambol, which is simply to die for.
The best of Sri Lankan cuisine in Ottawa!

My god this place was good! My boyfriend suggested it after finding the menu online and feeling intrigued and I’m so happy we checked it out. The service was amazing - they’re fast knowledgeable and exceptionally kind. The food was next level… the aromas, the flavours, the spices, the freshness. Absolutely amazing! We tried everything the chef working that day recommend and were so satisfied with how delicious everything was. I will continue to recommend this spot to everyone and it has quickly become one of my favourite south Asian restos in the city!
