Food always mediocre, one or 2 beers are decent. All of the menu items are mediocre , typical chain restaurant
Everything was awesome ??. Enjoyed the poutine w/the addition of crispy onions on top. Beer was good, the atmosphere was busy but chill. Shawn/Sean (server) was great. Definitely will be back!
Parking: Parking is 2.00 after 6 on the Weekends. Clocktower is right across the street.
Decent place. I wasn't in a big rush so I didn't mind that the staff was busy and didn't serve us right away. Someone mentioned they were understaffed. The server who did get our drinks apologized for the wait but we didn't even notice we had to wait haha. The beer was good. Didn't have any food. Music not too loud. Would return.
Went here for lunch with a coworker while in town on a business trip. The food was phenomenal and our server was so friendly. Highly recommend!
Jenna was very courteous and efficient. Our meal and beer were delicious. We will definitely be back! I hope Jenna is working next time!
Dietary restrictions: Food allergies were accommodated very well.
We have eaten at various Clocktower locations over the years but this was by far the worst food experience. Neither of us liked our food. I ordered the "cinnamon bun" French toast because it sounded interesting. What I got was dry white toast with cinnamon on it. It was the worst "french toast" I've ever had and also nothing like what we expected. Also the fruit on the side was oranges that looked like they had been previously eaten or rotten. It was pretty gross. We should have known there was a reason why the location was completely empty on a weekend during brunch when most places are packed.
Fun pub in the center of Ottawa, it is worth visiting for lunch when it's not too busy. Be ready to wait 30+ minutes to get your food. I ordered the bratwurst and my wife ordered the tuna salad. We were disappointed by both dishes, specifically by the sauce on the food. The sauce was overpowering and overly sweet on both dishes to the point where I felt it ruined the meal. Next time I would insist on no sauce. As part of my meal I was supposed to get a potato salad which I was looking forward to, but for some reason they were out and it was substituted with mashed potatoes which arrived as a dry lump on my plate. My wife made the healthy choice by ordering a salad, but it was full of sugar because of the sauce. Maybe next visit I will try a hamburger and insist on no sauce. It is a fun pub to visit, just don't expect to get your food quickly, and avoid the sauces they add, my wife and I both agree on this.
Incredible menu, cocktails and the best on-tap red in the city. They made us go to the bathroom outside, tho. Kind of a strange rule.Oh wait no, I just did that before I realized they had bathrooms. Very clean too. Too bad I no longer had to take a massive dump. I feel sorry for the city worker who had to change that garbage.
Stopped by for a quick bite and enjoyed an amazing Tuna Poke Bowl. The dish was a refreshing change from the regular side of fries. I'll order this again; delicious!
Went for lunch with a small group. The tables and menus were sticky, the full bar menu was not available, our meals took 45 mins to arrive despite having very few customers and the food was mediocre at best.
Restaurantji Recommends
Best service I've ever received in Ottawa, was from our waiter Nick. Fast, super friendly, efficient. We didn't need to ask for glasses of water for us or a bowl of water for my dog. Fantastic, fresh food. Great presentation. Large portions. Very good value.Highly recommend this location, especially enjoy their patio.
Worst restaurant experience in my 55 years. Forty-five minute wait to get our food and when it does come, it's hardly edible. Our overly friendly waiter, starts with stating his name. "I'm Shawn, if you need anything I'm your waiter". Myself and one of my dinner companions order the Thai Peanut Bowl, and the third dinner companion order a hamburger. The Thai Peanut bowl had noodles so hard that they were stuck together and not edible. The only mixed vegetables in the Thai bowl was a few green onions. Our waiter, Shawn, quickly came by to ask how the food was, when my dinner companion said the noodles were hard, he just walking past the table and only returned to give us the bill. I left a $6 tip on a $68.93 bill. I should not have left any tip. I, nor will my dinner companions, return to the Clocktower Pub!
My wife and I really liked the atmosphere here and thought the fries and desserts were delicious. The only glitch was our server kept changing so there was some confusion but all well in the end. Nice people here!
live music, good food having an excellent time
Absolutely awful. Awful service. Awful food. Was in town with my family. Thought their menu looked decent. We ordered the onion soup, the spicy peanut bowl, the kids grilled chicken and fries, and the perogies. They took the soup off our bill. Looked pretty but It literally tasted like brown onion water. Chicken was dry no BBQ sauce like the menu stated. The server argued with me about the welcome plate children get with their meal. Than charged me $2.50 for my two year olds side of gravy that she didn't remember to get after being reminded twice until my son hadd 4 fries left. Perogies were flavorless and soggy, bacon was fatty, the peanut bowl my cousin had was terrible. Way over sauced and we like saucy. All in all Awful meal and will not be recommending or returning when in Ottawa. And too think all I wanted was a good soup and pub food.
